Extremely pleased with the render Dan did to my side wall. He kept me informed all the way through the job, and I was extremely pleased with the work carried out. His price was competitive and I'm currently considering having the front of house rendered and asking Dan to to the job for me. Highly recommend this firm.

I engaged DS Plastering and Rendering early in 2024 to remove the existing rendering from my detached 1937, bay windowed and double fronted, 4 bedroomed house with double garage and sun room extensions. the reason being that the rendering had been completed at 3 different stages in the property's history to varying standards and textures and was repeatedly cracking and detaching. we sought advice and quotes from a number of traders, but Daniel impressed us with his frank and honest explanation of the necessary work, the standards to which he worked (with copious photographic examples of his work) and the material options. The quotation was not the cheapest, but we considered it to be the best value for the best suitable but extensive job. work started on 13th March and was completed 29th April. But this was due to the discovery of further issues revealed on removal of the existing render including: variable thickness and adherence of the existing render, unexpected wooden lintels and a tie-less detached bay and displaced brick, which necessitated separate re-building repair, additional render board and the use of a different base coat. Daniel sensitively and honestly guided us through the remedial options and liaised with us when inviting tenders and ensuring that the responding builders knew the work required and the urgency of the repair. He is trustworthy and is an excellent communicator, kept us updated on a daily basis re weather interruptions, scaffolding installation and removal, material deliveries and skip arrivals and removals. He not only delivered an excellent job, but went above and beyond in supporting us through the stages of the planned work, the additional traumas and was kind enough to refit new PVC downspouts rather than the tired existing downspouts at no additional labour cost. We are delighted at the outcome and have receive numerous comments and compliments on the quality of the work, from some friends and acquaintances retired from the building trade. As we approach the anniversary of the work, the house looks like it has only just been completed. Dan rendered the gable end and front of my house and I had no hesitation inviting him back to do the job after he did the rear of my house a couple of months earlier. He is prompt, organised and incredibly easy to deal with, he doesn't invent work that needs doing once he's started the job just so he can inflate his invoice and was more than accommodating when I asked him to do extra work that he hadn't quoted for. His attention to detail is spot on and he is rightly proud of the work he does, he even cleans up properly after he's finished. Skips, scaffolding and everything else were arranged by Dan, arriving when they should have and were promptly removed afterwards. I couldn't be happier with his workmanship.
