We live in a 1930s semi and it was time to replace most of the original replacement windows (30+ years old) and front/back doors. We got three quotes from independent replacement windows companies and decided to go with Ebor - we do not regret it! They were not the cheapest but Jo was brilliant, listened to what we wanted, gave good advice, helped us to decide what would be best and was patient in negotiations around final specifications without pressure. Ebor also took charge of the 3rd party building and scaffolding work that would be needed ahead of the windows going in. Richard, Ben and Aaron did the install - there was a lot to do: 4 bay windows, one with a patio door, three other windows and new composite doors front/back. There was a delay in starting due to weather on a previous job and our work overran by a day - but these were the only issues. The three fitters did an excellent job, the fit and look is brilliant, they were more than happy to work through snagging and small things that needed attending to, and it was great to hear their care and attention to detail when working on aspects of the job. We would definitely recommend them - in fact we are having them back to replace another window, that despite not needing replacing, looks a little tired now compared to the rest of the house! Decided to go with Ebor after they had done such a good job on our windows We had pretty much decided on what door we wanted, but there was still plenty of options to discuss, such as hinges, locks, window frosting, door handles, so lots of communication back and forth with Jo supplying drawings and lots options with costs The team turned up on the date and time agreed and got plenty of covers down on the carpet before they set too The old door did not come out without a fight, but once out you could see what a hack job had been done on the old door and frame. Once the new door was in, it looked amazing, the team finished everything off both inside and out to a very high standard and cleaned everything up. I am looking at covering the underside of the door porch to match the door, when I told them this, they really wanted to know when so that they could come out and do any further sealant work to support the work I had done - never normally get that, its often a done and dash job One of the down covers had a nick in it, again this was no hassle for them to come out and replace it, rather than botch patch it and keep quiet These guys go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction A professional job, fantastic finish and now we have an amazing front door

New composite door supplied and fitted within timeline and costs. Excellent, prompt, friendly and professional customer service. Fitters were on time, friendly and worked with great attention to detail. The fitting is excellent work and also the care and attention to the finishing details. The old door and frame were taken away and the work area was left clean and tidy. The door is very good quality. We have used Ebor Windows previously to replace our back door, and their work was excellent, and we will use again.

From initial contact to fitting and final touches the team at Ebor Windows were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Any cosmetic adjustments were fully discussed along the way. All works were completed in advance of estimated timeline, within costs and to a high standard. Cracking job!

First appointment, to provide quote, made via phone call. Jo was prompt, professional and friendly, asking all relevant questions regarding the product; the quote was received later that day and included current lead times. On accepting the quote we received the contract, which included full details of the patio doors to be fitted. Receipt of our deposit was confirmed. The patio doors were fitted within 6 weeks of the deposit being paid, inline with expected timings. The team fitting the windows arrived on time and completed the job efficiently, asking my opinion on some cosmetic aspects which was appreciated. They treated our property with respect and cleaned up afterwards, taking our old doors away. We received both guarantee and Certass Certification for the work completed. Since the patio doors being fitted they have been tested by a various storms with strong wind and rain. They passed the test! Based upon this experience I would use Ebor windows again.

Work was carried out efficiently and work areas were left very tidy. Any issues were swiftly dealt with. My Parents, Sister and I have all used Ebor windows and have been very satisfied with the work completed.

We have had 11 windows in uPVC and a composite door installed. Customer service has been very good throughout, prompt installation and very friendly and considerate installers. Windows are good quality and installation professionally done with attention to detail, eg correct colour of sealant to match our stonework.

I have just had all my wooden windows replaced by EBor Windows and absolutely thrilled by the standard of their work, from the initial survey to the actual fitting everything has gone very smooth, with minimal disruption and everything cleared away by them. Ebor did the important things well - started & finished on time, which was essential to my very tight refurbishment programme and installed the new windows very professionally. The house was empty but I still wanted floors and furniture etc sheeted up & protected. This regime slipped a little toward the end of the job, but for me the overriding issue was completion on time. As the old windows were removed, the inevitable dust was minimised by vacuuming the window reveals. The new windows were then installed very carefully and professionally, not least fitting the internal timber architraves & cills, with minimal collateral damage to plasterwork which they patched up in the few places affected. We had a PVC door fitted by Ebor Windows. Right from the word go - the process was easy. We called into the showroom to make an enquiry, got a reasonable price, easy as that! Jo was very knowledgeable and down to earth, not pushy in any way and though it was January was honest enough to tell us that we would be looking at early March for fitting. The survey was done a couple of weeks later. On the day of fitting the fitters (Jay and Aaron) were excellent and the door was fitted to a very high standard and finished off so well on the inside that we didn't even need to redecorate. It was nice to have people taking pride in making a nice job. All mess was cleared up and taken away together with the old door. Other than the lovely new door - there was no indication they had ever been here. All done for the agreed price and fitted on the agreed timescale. I couldn't recommend this company enough. We will be getting replacement windows at some point and won't be going anywhere else! A local 5* service.

Ebor windows more than lived up to our expectations, instilling confidence from first contact. We took months to make a decision after our initial quote but there was no pressure or pestering. Once made it was definitely a good decision. We’d been given excellent advice and are so pleased with our new windows and front door. We had been dreading having the work done but Richard and his team were so efficient and friendly and did an excellent job. They kept us informed on progress and cleaned up at the end of each day. If we ever need doors or windows in future I would have no hesitation in using them or recommending them to friends and family.

We had our front door, and door between our dining room and conservatory replaced. Ebor Windows was one of the few companies in the area that actually responded with a quote when requested, and Jo did a very good job of finding a triple pane bifold that fitted in our budget after we met and explained what we were looking for, as well as succinctly explaining what would and wouldn't be possible. On the day, both doors were fitted in the space of just one morning, which I feel was very fast, and we're very pleased with the quality of the final result. The only recommendation I could make for improvement would to keep us updated on when we should expect certain information in the early stages of the process, as I was unsure what timeline to expect e.g. the formal quote, then an expected date for the door fitting until quite late on. It wasn't an issue for the most part as I was confident that it was just a case of waiting for materials to arrive but a heads up that that was the case would be appreciated! Otherwise everything was communicated with us very well in regard to what options we had and what we should expect.

Ebor Windows are certainly good at promoting themselves. I first had Jo out who gave us the ‘family business’ sales pitch and took an interest in our renovation work. I had a quote for a patio and porch door. I was told that Ebor would provide a stay for the patio doors and replace a defective hinge on my windows, nothing was too much trouble. When the work was due to be carried out Ebor had failed to allow for the plaster despite me telling their surveyor meaning the porch door wouldn't fit. They also hadn't brought stays and had a window hinge that was too large. I then received a phone call on the Monday morning. Jo told me that they had a meeting that morning and they had an offer for me, an additional £360 to fit the porch door. I said that I wasn’t prepared to pay that as it wasn’t my fault. By this point I just wanted to work with a company that I had confidence could do the job right, so I said to Jo that I would pay for the patio door installation once the stays had been fitted but I won’t proceed with the porch door and we can walk away at that. “We’ll take that” said Jo, sounding delighted. I then received another call from Jo that afternoon. She was acting aggressively towards me immediately and virtually shouting at me. Apparently, they'd had another meeting with the Director and now wanted me to pay for the door, despite it being their error and not what we agreed. She continued to harass me until I had to hang up to join a work call. Ebor has no integrity.

The fitters for Ebor Windows did a wonderful job on all of our windows and front door. They were very thorough and the results are really excellent. Would absolutely use them again and would certainly recommend them to anyone in the York area needing their doors / windows doing!

We had our bungalow double glazed by this family firm to a very high standard. We had a small mark on the door which was embedded in the plastic, it could not be polished out so a new door was brought to us and exchanged with no fuss or hassle, cannot speak too highly of this company, and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone, they put down dustsheets every morning when they start and clean up every night when they finish, book them with confidence.

Installed replacement double glazing. Everything went to plan from the original quote, the site survey and the installation work. Very high standard of work and everything kept tidy after each work session. Good communication with small issues discussed and agreed along the way. Work certainly recommend this firm.

It’s a long time since I have seen a team show such experience, competence and motivation to complete a job to the highest standard. It was obvious that Richard and his team take such a pride in their work and want perfection. The job was not easy. We wanted all our windows updated and every window’s position needed adjusting but Richard and his team took on the challenge with ease. Replastering was done by Richard and the end result really is perfect. The team went the extra mile, flashing was cleaned and fascias replaced; even our front door that was sticking was mended - without me even asking. They were able to quickly explain how the doors were fitted and alleviated concerns we had gained looking at other companies reviews about potential problems with composite doors. They also explained the guarantee system and that we would be fully covered for any product defect. The fitters arrived on time on the nominated day and the team worked quickly and cleanly to finish the job. All waste was cleaned up and the site left as it was before they arrived. The final price did not differ from the quote. Our experience was again that this family firm continues to offer a friendly and ultra-reliable service.

I needed the few wooden windows I had to be replaced by something more practical. I needed to replace my French doors with ones that were actually weatherproof. I had to wait a little bit for them to carry out the work but it was worth the wait as when they did they were quick, efficient, pleasant and helpful. As a firm they were a pleasure to deal with. No pressure salesmanship was a big change from the last time I had windows replaced and made what I anticipated would be a pain almost a pleasure.

This is the second time we have used Ebor Windows to replace windows on our property, and once again they were very professional in their work and turned up bang on time. We were kept well informed by Jo as to when they would turn up all the way through the job from the day Jo estimated the cost to the day when the work was carried out.

We had decided on getting all the windows and doors changed due to the old ones failing, the process from start to finish was so easy with Jo keeping us informed at every step. Over the last few years, we have looked to modify areas of the home. Used Ebor to replace French windows ( whilst providing near match to extant bi-folds). They succeeded and great result. Led to further work on the front door and side panels. The level of advice, professionalism and genuine friendliness meant that we returned to them when looking to replace 4 windows in the house. That job was completed last week on schedule and budget as usual. Yet again, the team demonstrated their knowledge, professionalism, ability to source great materials and fit them with no messing whilst ensuring tidiness throughout and leaving the place spotless on conclusion. I would add that I asked for a handle on an old window to be saved to allow me to replace a broken handle elsewhere. They not only saved it but also then replaced the broken one. They also adjusted a door frame that was sticking. Neither related to current work...they just went ‘beyond’ and that’s why they remain my first port of call.

Originally contacted Ebor in November about a new front door. Despite the pandemic they managed to get the job done for us in early January. The whole service from Jo visiting initially to installation was professional. I really didn't want to lose my old stained glass window or style of door. I have been very impressed by this company. It was great not to have a 'hard sell' when Jo visited, just thoughtful and helpful discussions about what would work and look good, and very flexible when I changed my mind about a couple of things . Covid caused a longer lead-in time for installation, but when my window and door were installed, this was extremely quick and efficient, and the results are great, no mess to clear up. The two fitters, Richard and colleague, were efficient, professional and tidy. They were able to find an effective solution to a slightly unusual job of fitting anthracite grey triangular and conventional frames and double glazing on the front and sides of an Edwardian dormer. I wasn't sure whether the effect would work but it looks stunning. High level of workmanship, skill and finish.

Following Jo's visit to see the work I knew that we were going to give them the job even before their quotation arrived. She obviously was completely well informed about their products and work. She explained every aspect of the work, what options were available, and pros and cons of all the options to help us choose. No other company showed this level of involvement. The team who came to do the work did an excellent job which we are very pleased with. They worked very efficiently and left the working area inside and out as good ,or better, as when they arrived. From my very first meeting with Jo, I was very impressed at how knowledgeable she was and how she made sure the solution we talked about was absolutely the best fit for myself, my budget and my house. I ended up switching all the windows to double glazing and replaced the back door. Some of the windows needed a steel bar above to strengthen - which Jo already knew about and made sure the work was totally compliant with all necessary building rules. With coronavirus, everything was delayed, but when they came they did an excellent job - everything was on time and the final look is absolutely wonderful. We had our bi-fold doors replaced. Jo advised us about the options available and we agreed on the type we wanted. We were kept informed about progress on our order, which was not entirely straightforward in this strange Covid time. The weather was changeable on the day of the fitting but finished to a very high standard. Very happy with every aspect of Ebor Windows.

We had quotes from 4 companies, including 2 national ones, and Ebor were the most impressive. Jo was by the far most knowledgeable salesperson, and gave us excellent advice on what we needed to get the best look for our house (I'd never heard of "dummy sashes" before). There was no need to haggle over prices - they were clear and fair, and in the end, Ebor's quote was extremely competitive - far lower than what we were quoted by the national companies even after extensive haggling. The service prior to installation was excellent - we added a few other replacement panes of glass to the original order which was no problem to them. The installation itself went extremely well - Richard and Darren were excellent and did a great job. They were very tidy and left no mess. We are extremely pleased that we went with Ebor windows, and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking to replace their windows and doors - they are a great, friendly and efficient local company.

All our sash windows were replaced with wooden sash double glazing. Work was delayed due to covid but company always kept us informed of the status. When the work did take place, workers were very careful to maintain social distance from us. They completed the work in a week (estimate was almost 2 weeks) to an excellent quality and disturbing very little of the existing decor. We are extremely pleased with the windows and happy to recommend the company.

We purchased two UPVC doors for our kitchen and utility room, plus a new window for the utility room. The whole process of quoting, contract and installation was made simple and pleasant by Jo, whilst Darren carried out the survey and fitting. We are delighted with the quality of the products and the excellent workmanship. There was one small piece of trim which did not adhere properly and this was resolved within a day. The price we paid was reasonable and well worth it when you see the finished work. We received a recommendation from a family member and were also impressed by their work done locally to us.

We had a bow window, two bedroom windows and a window in the garage replaced by this company. The service from the start was first class. The explanations for the product and fitting system were clear and we were given a full range of options (glass and handle types etc). The fitters were prompt and worked in a clean and careful way which included a full clear up and sweep afterwards - in fact were it not for the new windows we would not have known they had been! The price charged was competitive with no need to barter as some companies with higher prices who had also quoted seemed to do. In fact one company we had a quote from did not ring us again when they heard we had a quote from Ebor. Frankly, even if other companies had quoted less I would have been inclined to support this local, family business. We have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Ebor Windows has replaced all of our softwood windows and five French doors with beautiful aluminium units recently. To say they're dedicated to quality is a real understatement. I'm as picky as it gets but they met my standards, working carefully on the installations over several days. We were very comfortable having them working in our home - Rich, Darren, Jo and the rest of the team were friendly and polite throughout the entire process.

This is the second time we have used Ebor Windows in the past two years and cannot fault their service. Last time they fitted a new front door for us (which was fitted in half a day despite the complications of our house) and this week we had a new door and window fitted and some old patio doors removed. After looking at other double glazing suppliers we are so very pleased that we chose Ebor Windows to replace our tired looking 28 year windows, the new Kommerling windows with A+ glass far exceeded any others that we looked at, the quality is so good and came at a price that also could not be beaten. The install was carried out by two of the most efficient and tidy installers ,they worked extremely hard and ensured that each window installation was carried out to a very high standard. Over the last three years, Ebor Windows have replaced all of the windows in our Victorian farm house with custom units from Bereco. They are an excellent firm. Ebor have just fitted the front and side of our property with new windows. They were extremely professional from start to finish. Jo initially came out to see us, we were not pushed in the slightest, she understood our concerns as we live in an Edwardian house with stained glass, we didn't want to loose them. This company encapsulate the stained glass so you can retain it. I had previously phoned several others, who flatly said no they didn't want to get involved with doing that! We changed our minds, about what we wanted, three times and Jo didn't bat an eyelid, just gave us new quotes. The new windows look really good, very like the old ones, as ours would have looked when new. The stained glass is yet to be encapsulated as it is now being resized to go back in, very much looking forward to seeing them finished. I would not hesitate to recommend Ebor, friendly, local and professional.

When looking for new windows and doors had a number of quotes and varying levels of response, pricing and professionalism. Jo from Ebor was better than the rest she came to the property carried out a consultative sell (I manage sales teams so know when I'm being sold to) and took time and interest to fully ascertain our needs and expectations. Highly detailed survey with every possible query we could raise all completed and then a structured pre fit process followed. The fitting team was 3 guys who were neat, polite and thorough, 14 windows and 2 doors were fitted in just 4 days with 1 re-visit for snagging, only a slight adjustment was needed and some very small remedial follow ups, no issue whatsoever getting this organised. Very pleasant experience, well, as much as spending money can be so would highly recommend using Ebor to anyone who wants good friendly and professional service and quality windows/doors at the appropriate cost.

Replaced our windows in April 2018. After visiting their showroom decided to try them first. Impressed by the man there who took time to show us a selection of windows. Not pushy at all. Arranged visit by the saleswoman and after selecting windows etc received a decent price within a couple of weeks. The job itself was completed as agreed even though the weather was quite bad with rain and wind. The two fitters did an excellent job with a minimum of disruption and mess. In all a good experience and would have no reservations in recommending them.

We were really pleased with all aspects of the service that we received. When we first made enquiries about new windows we were met with helpful and honest advice, with no hard sell whatsoever. The team were really friendly and helpful throughout. We were given a timetable for the work, which was kept to perfectly, and the new windows look great. The installers took care to minimise mess and made a great job, even helping to adjust skirting board which needed alteration to fit around the new back door. We would recommend this company without hesitation, and will certainly use them again if we decide to replace any more windows.

We had our attic dormer window replaced. The whole process was very efficient, with good attention to detail and a sympathetic approach to our 1874 terrace property. Workman were skilled, polite and tidy. We are very pleased with the end result and are looking to have more of our windows replaced in the near future.
