Ebor Windows

We had our front door, and door between our dining room and conservatory replaced. Ebor Windows was one of the few companies in the area that actually responded with a quote when requested, and Jo did a very good job of finding a triple pane bifold that fitted in our budget after we met and explained what we were looking for, as well as succinctly explaining what would and wouldn't be possible. On the day, both doors were fitted in the space of just one morning, which I feel was very fast, and we're very pleased with the quality of the final result. The only recommendation I could make for improvement would to keep us updated on when we should expect certain information in the early stages of the process, as I was unsure what timeline to expect e.g. the formal quote, then an expected date for the door fitting until quite late on. It wasn't an issue for the most part as I was confident that it was just a case of waiting for materials to arrive but a heads up that that was the case would be appreciated! Otherwise everything was communicated with us very well in regard to what options we had and what we should expect.

We are really pleased with the windows and door fitting, the team were incredibly hard working and paid close attention to the details as well as being really careful about cleaning up and protecting our belongings, which makes a real difference. They listened to all our requests and didn't rush. The windows are great. The communication before the fitting could be a little bit slow, (understandable as this is a family business) but stick with it as the end result is well worth it! Thanks so much.

Ebor Windows are certainly good at promoting themselves. I first had Jo out who gave us the ‘family business’ sales pitch and took an interest in our renovation work. I had a quote for a patio and porch door. I was told that Ebor would provide a stay for the patio doors and replace a defective hinge on my windows, nothing was too much trouble. When the work was due to be carried out Ebor had failed to allow for the plaster despite me telling their surveyor meaning the porch door wouldn't fit. They also hadn't brought stays and had a window hinge that was too large. I then received a phone call on the Monday morning. Jo told me that they had a meeting that morning and they had an offer for me, an additional £360 to fit the porch door. I said that I wasn’t prepared to pay that as it wasn’t my fault. By this point I just wanted to work with a company that I had confidence could do the job right, so I said to Jo that I would pay for the patio door installation once the stays had been fitted but I won’t proceed with the porch door and we can walk away at that. “We’ll take that” said Jo, sounding delighted. I then received another call from Jo that afternoon. She was acting aggressively towards me immediately and virtually shouting at me. Apparently, they'd had another meeting with the Director and now wanted me to pay for the door, despite it being their error and not what we agreed. She continued to harass me until I had to hang up to join a work call. Ebor has no integrity.
