We had general concerns about our mid-terraced Victorian home and wanted to learn more about the condition of the property and where we could improve or fix what existed. Robert came around and walked and talked us through it all and put our mind at ease noting how some things such as better ventilation could improve the quality of our home. The condition report was detailed and gave a good estimation of prices to fix or improve things. Highly recommend.

Robert carried out work at my property in 2017, the standard of the work is still good. Recently, I asked Robert to make an assessment on a potential damp issue, he was able to confirm that it was due to the occupancy usage of the property (it’s rented), as opposed to any maintenance issues with the building. Robert is very professional and very helpful.

Robert and the team replaced my old garage (with an asbestos roof) with a very nice larger garage. This also entailed moving an old wooden shed and then putting it back which was done without any damage! Everything was done when they said it would be. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely use Tiffin again.

Robert Tiffin successfully diagnosed and treated the increasing damp in the cellar of our old house, something several previous firms had failed to do. He was professional and efficient and provided an excellent report. He and his builder dealt with an unexpected complication rapidly and competently. We engaged Tiffin to renovate our living room after the ceiling partially collapsed. This involved the unenvitable task of ripping down the old lathe and plaster ceiling and replacing it. We also had the windows replaced and bay wall partially rebuilt. This was a more complex job than it sounds as the property is quite old. Tiffin handled all the aspects of the job really well, keeping us informed and sourcing high quality materials. They did a good job of organising all the various trades to do their parts in an efficient manner. We recommend them.

We engaged Tiffin group to complete an internal insulation project for us, along with a collection of other smaller property maintenance jobs. The “Tiffin difference” was immediately noticeable from the polite and courteous approach adopted by all members from the team. For us, that mattered a lot. We a young baby and the team were unfailingly mindful of that throughout the project which lasted several weeks. The work was carried out to a high standard. As with all major projects we did draw up a snagging list but all items were addressed to our satisfaction. What was most pleasing was that we paid the price we had been quoted. There was no “Gotcha” pricing at the end despite a couple of modifications to the original RFQ we provided. If I had any criticism to offer it would be that some things took longer to sort than we had expected but, on the list of criticisms to be levelled at a construction firm, this is one thing that I found was manageable given all the other positives. We were left with a strong sense that Robert and the team were professional and reliable in their approach. We wil be using Tiffin Group for our next project.

The first time I used Robert Tiffin was by email for advice about the condition of a garden wall. He responded with a request for pictures from which he went on to produce a clear, helpful response suggesting the wall was sound and any work needed would be cosmetic. He made no charge for this advice. Based on this experience, I asked him to carry out repair work to the walls, roof and chimney of our property. After inspection, he advised me that the roof and chimney were sound and that pointing would resolve the problems, saving me considerable unnecessary costs. I was delighted to discover he was absolutely right in his diagnosis. On the third occasion, my daughter required a survey of mould on the interior walls of her home. Again, Robert Tiffin carried out a thorough inspection and prepared a comprehensive report. Robert Tiffin is helpful and professional. His advice is sound and he will save you money where he can. Not surprisingly, the people he employs are also hard working and professional. Schedules are maintained and when work is completed everywhere is left clean and tidy. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Excellent advice on cause of damp in converted block of flats and successful repairs too. Extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of causes of building failure and damage and reinstatement for insurance purposes too. Highly recommended.
