Eco Tiffin Limited

A very thorough and detailed offer to do work on my roof after a careful inspection by Mr Tiffin which was followed up by his roofing sub contractor. I decided not to proceed with any work however for personal reasons.

From first contact through to the end of the project, Ecotiffin provided a thoroughly professional service to me. Their survey report was comprehensive and laid out exactly how the job would go and costs involved. I asked to hold a retention payment at the end of the work and we also agreed a payment schedule for works done. They gave me a timescale which they adhered to, so that all work would be finished to coincide with my holiday start dates. Roofers arrived as soon as scaffolding went up, different trades arrived on schedule and did their jobs. Everyone was so professional and polite to deal with and answered any questions I had. David their supervisor visited every day to check on progress and to liaise with me so that we knew everything was done correctly. When scaffolding was taken down at the end of the job, several roof tiles were damaged on the day before I was due to go on holiday! They quickly made arrangements to repair and the work was carried out whilst we were away. They contacted me when I came back to make sure I was happy with the work done and to see if had any issues. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work and the aftermath so I would recommend Ecotiffin highly to deal with.

Extensive damp problem that was resolved efficiently and in a timely manner. From survey to finish, every single tradesman was excellent, very tidy, David on site a lot to oversee things. Costs discussed at start, absolutely no negatives at all. Would highly recommend and would never have anyone else work on our property again. This company know what they are doing and everyone that works for them is knowledgeable.

From the very first contact with this company they were nothing short of professional. We had a damp issue emanating from our downstairs cloakroom. Our insurance company sent round a series of companies/workmen who could not find the source of the issue even though it was evident that there was an issue, even trying to blame it on our house damp course. Staff from Eco Tiffin Ltd were always confident that the problem was caused by a leaking pipe, even if it was a pin hole leak. Eventually my insurance company agreed to allow Eco Tiffin Ltd to investigate. Unsurprisingly, they not only found the source of our damp issue, but obviously also fixed the faulty pipes. I would highly recommend Eco Tiffin Ltd.

Ecotiffin carried out installation of external wall insulation, loft insulation and boarding and roof works for us. Tamara and David managed our project and kept us up to date throughout. Our house is old (built 1890) and has a tendency to reveal previously unknown issues as any building work commences, but any problems that came up were thoroughly discussed and various solutions were offered, costed and agreed as we went along. We felt that we could openly discuss the project as it progressed, and that Tamara, David Perry and the rest of the team were happy to answer our questions, and keen to ensure that we were happy with the final result. Steve has done a fabulous job of the roof and Aaron and Adam a great job of the building work with the rest of the team. They were reliable and professional. We are happy to recommend.

We are delighted with the work completed by Eco-Tiffin. We wanted to upgrade the insulation in our home and to integrate this work with the installation of solar panels. We began the process with a thermal survey and a discussion of the recommendations. The discussions were not hurried or pushy and it took a few months before we agreed the scope of works. We were especially keen to find a company to oversee the integration of the various aspects of the works. Having agreed to go for the 'Tiffin duvet effect', the various teams of carpenter, electrician, plumber, brickies and roofers came and did most of the work from the outside, keeping disruption to a minimum. The teams were smartly dressed, tidy and considerate. We hoped that the house would be warmer this winter. We are delighted to say that the house is draft free, warmer and less humid. The work has all been carried out neatly and to a high standard and it all looks great inside and outside. It actually looks better than we had imagined it would. We are very happy to recommend Eco-Tiffin.

Very pleased with the work carried out. We had a damp problem, Eco Tiffin investigated, provided advice and then completed work to budget and in accordance with agreed timescales. They clearly understand historic (listed) buildings and the specialist type of work needed to maintain them properly.

Engaged this company to do a survey with regards to our loft: assess the potential to convert to habitable space and insulate. The surveyor who arrived was under the impression that we were having a damp problem (no, and never even mentioned), so I ended up printing my original email request to ensure that were were on the same page. Survey seemed to go well, but when I received the report a week later I was thoroughly disappointed: apart from a few minor factual errors, the survey report itself consisted of 17 pages, 8 of which comprised the generic boilerplate "Assumptions & Conditions" that were by far the most detailed part of the report; one title page and one Declaration page (that was essentially an invitation to write a blank cheque); 2 other pages; and 6 actual survey pages, at least half of which consisted of photos. The survey text itself was in the style of a mediocre undergraduate thesis with platitudes about damp, climate, and various other things. There were also observations about the potential for development, but very few specifics, no concrete or systematic action plan or similar proposal for next steps. I contacted both the original surveyor and, 5 days later, the company's general contact to give them an opportunity to comment, but have still not heard back from either. Altogether a poor experience and not worth the £300 that was charged for it.

I have had used Tiffins for various projects and building issues over the last few years and Robert’s team always complete a project to the highest standard. Most recently have consulted Robert on a worrying issue of damp and he has provided his usual wealth of expertise to help me to resolve the problem without the need for costly repairs. Would highly recommend.

The team from Eco Tiffin carried out insulation work on our house plus other repairs and maintenance work. We are really pleased with the end results. We first contacted Eco Tiffin after enduring many chilly winters in our 1930’s house and finally decided it was time to do something to improve it – but we didn’t really know where to start. We booked an energy assessment survey and Robert went through the results in full detail. He recommended the priorities to fix the main issues. We also needed to deal with some other repairs and after a few more site visits and answering all our many questions we settled on a planned set of works to address the insulation and maintenance issues. The team were great to have around. The works were well-organised and progressed quickly. Aaron and David kept us updated on what they had done and what was happening next. The team kept the site tidy, cleaned up each evening and did their best to minimise the disruption while the work was ongoing. The work completed has been done to a very high standard and there is a huge improvement now in the warmth of our bathrooms and bedrooms following the insulation work. Plus the house looks much better now too. Early indications are showing a reduction in the amount of energy we are using to heat the house. It will be interesting to see the difference over time but we can tell that the house is retaining heat much better now and also we no longer get condensation in the bathroom.
