We had a new toilet installed for my elderly mother, but just weeks later it failed, leaking through the floor onto the kitchen cooking surfaces below. The leak caused her huge anxiety, especially as she was left without a usable toilet for a week waiting for the original plumber to return. The original plumber said it wasn’t his workmanship, blamed a blocked drain and suggested we contact a drain specialist. Kevin from Elsby Engineering quickly identified the real problem: the pan connector had been cut too short and at an angle, so it wasn’t properly seated in the existing cast iron soil stack, preventing a reliable watertight seal and allowing debris to catch and restrict the waste. Kevin replaced it with a flexible pan connector, correctly aligned and sealed everything, then thoroughly tested the toilet. No further leaks. Professional, knowledgeable and, above all, honest. Kevin identified the poor workmanship and fixed the problem properly. He genuinely saved the day and gave my mother peace of mind. Highly recommended.

Our CH boiler stopped working on Saturday morning. Called our maintenance company who didn't pick up (I discovered later that they had gone into administration) so I found Kevin on Which Trusted Traders. Kevin was busy working elsewhere on Saturday but came on Sunday; he diagnosed the problem (a faulty circuit board) and on Monday he picked up a replacement and fitted it (even though it meant coming straight from a funeral he had attended). I was impressed with the care he took to be sure it was the PCB and not something else, and with his dedication to get us fixed as soon as possible. He was polite, friendly and efficient. Recommended!

Came home from holiday to find the heating wasn’t working - within 45mins, Kevin had located the problem, sourced replacement parts & completed the job to a high standard - will definitely be using in the future for any other jobs that come up! Efficient & honest 👍🏼

My old boiler broke down and Kevin installed new one and done a power flush. This only took him two days to complete my heating and hot water is a lot better than it was before and I would highly recommend using him

I highly recommend Kevin from Elsby Engineering. We had three separate leaks in our apartment, one under the kitchen sink, one under the bathroom basin, and another under the bath and Kevin dealt with all of them professionally and thoroughly. He took the time to properly diagnose each issue and explained clearly what needed to be done. The leaks were fixed properly, not rushed, and everything was tested to make sure it was 100% watertight before he finished. Kevin also replaced the bathroom taps, sink waste and plug, as well as the bath taps and shower, all fitted perfectly and working exactly as they should. He replaced the bathroom waste and plug and re-siliconed around the bath, which was done neatly and to a very high standard, the finish is spot on. On top of all this, Kevin also carried out a full boiler service, again taking his time and ensuring everything was safe and running efficiently. Throughout the job he was punctual, polite, very professional, and clearly takes pride in his work. He made sure everything was left clean and tidy and that we were completely happy before leaving. Excellent workmanship and service from start to finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kevin at Elsby Engineering and will definitely use him again.

Kevin came round to fix my boiler as I’ve had a few people before an it keeps turning off still so once I got hold of he’s number he came an sorted it no problem at all and has been perfect since, I noticed he’s very knowledgeable about a lot of aspects as I was picking he’s brain about some rads I’ve had done an future bathroom projects and he was more than happy to help and said I can call him any time if I have any questions so I’ll definitely be having him back for that project very soon. One man does it all saved me a lot of time an hassle. To many unreliable tradesmen about these days.

I needed a plumber urgently to fix a broken toilet flush handle. Kevin attended the same day, keeping me informed as his day's job schedule progressed, which I found very considerate. He did a very efficient job at a reasonable cost. He was friendly and very easy to deal with. I appreciate the photos he sent me confirming, showing the work he had carried out. We had a boiler in fault after a different plumber had let us down. With a baby due any minute, we were rather desperate. Kevin dropped everything to attend our house as quickly as he could, and finding there to be no serious work required, was then kind enough to waive his fees for us. He went the extra mile and made a huge difference to us at a time when we really needed it! Heartily recommended.

For reasons which were hard to work out, there was no hot water running to either of our two bathrooms. This is a very difficult thing to deal with as we could not flush toilets nor have showers (hot water was still very much in existence). Kevin could not come immediately but talked me through possibilities on the phone, with a promise he would turn up in the morning. I had a failed boiler, gas valve failure. I was quoted £400 plus parts to fix it by another company. In fact I thought it would be better to get a new boiler as it was eight years old. Kevin did an excellent job and I’d highly recommend him. Of the people I contacted for a quote he was the only one to ask follow up questions and explain the options and pros/cons from the start, since the boiler was long overdue a service. On the day he arrived on time and was friendly and approachable, and I appreciated how he explained the work as he went along. His quote was spot on and great value for money, and he left the area clean and tidy after completing the work.

We had a leak coming from under the sink in our bathroom and called Kevin following a review of plumbers in the area on Trusted Traders. He came to see what the issue was towards the end of the day and recognised that the leak was probably from a corroded pipe buried under the floor. Since he explained the work could take a few hours but that it wouldn't be clear until he started unearthing the pipes, we agreed to arrange a time he would come back and fix the issue (he couldn't come the next day but was able to come the day after this). Between Kevin assessing the situation and returning to complete the job it was easy to maintain communication with him through WhatsApp. He worked quickly and left the area as clear and clean as possible, advising us how to manage the problem going forwards. He was clear in his fees so that there was nothing unexpected when the invoice came through.
