F5 Engine Carbon & DPF Clean

I had Adrian from Engine Carbon Clean to have a look at my 2006 Audi A4 2.0 tdi with 148,000 on the clock as it sometimes struggles to start when cold and had a rough idle. Adrian turned up when he said he would(super punctual)pleasant chap and full of knowledge. After a thorough diagnostic, no initial problems were found so on with the clean. After the clean, I noticed straight away an improved throttle response and improved mpg. The proof for me was the next morning when I started first started the car.no struggling no rough idle it’s like a new car! I would definitely recommend a carbon clean to anyone and I would certainly use Adrian at engine carbon clean again.

Excellent service from start to finish. Everything explained from the start, what they would be doing and how much. The diagnostic test first, all results explained then the engine carbon clean. My car is a fifty six registration, one point nine Astra diesel with ninety five thousand three hundred on the clock. The results were far better than expected. It's like a different car, smoother and more responsive well worth having it done. I am that please with the work carried out and the improve performance I will be booking the wife's car in soon.

This man is very proffesional is his work and has a passion for it. After buying a 5 series BMW with 92k on the clock i wanted to know just what condition my engine was in. Adrian showed me the live data on the diagnostics and showed me x2 error codes in the cars ecu. Following the carbon clean, The car is now even quieter, more responsive with a noticable return on the MPG, 26mpg around town before, now 32MPG. 36 MPG on the dual carriageway now at 45 mpg. If you have bought a new car like me and want to find out about its health and give it some preventative maintanece then Adrian is your man. Highly reccomend this service .

Had soot filter full come up a few times on my 2007 Volvo xc70awd P3. Short journeys it seemed to regenerate, but on a couple of long journeys, it went into limp mode. I called Adrian to do a carbon clean and diagnostic check, and I was expecting the worse of either a deep clean on the dpf filter or even replacing it. Adrian put his machine on it and the soot filter was fluctuating but he could tell that it wasn't full yet but regeneration wasn't working. He suggested the dpf pressure sensor along with a new thermostat. Had both replaced and car is now back to full power, and no more soot filter full warnings. The carbon clean has also made the car feel far more responsive. Thanks Adrian 10/10

So right from the original contact Adrian was professional, knowledgeable and honest and provided me with in-depth information about why I wouldn't need one of the services I asked him to quote for (even though this would of earned him more money), this impressed me as several other companies had just provided me with a quote without one of them saying perhaps I don't need the service. Following this I booked in for an Engine Carbon Clean on my Volvo V60 with Adrian who kept me informed of ETA the night before and on the day and was extremely punctual (even arriving early but only after checking it was okay to do). Throughout the procedure Adrian was more than happy to answer my question at explain to me what he was doing at each stage. After the clean, my engine was notable running quieter. I took it for a test drive after Adrian left and am very happy with the result, the car feels smoother to drive, feeling more responsive through the revs. Could not recommend Adrian highly enough, very knowledgeable, very professional and a genuinely nice guy.

Engine Carbon Clean responded promptly to my initial enquiry allowing me to have the work completed on my car within days. I have a 2007 BMW 525d. They arrived bang on time and completed work on my car to a professional standard. My car hadn’t completed a successful DPF regeneration in over 5000 miles which was due to a faulty sensor. After the engine clean, I have since replaced the sensor. I have noticed my car is undoubtably smoother on startup and performance on these colder days thanks to the clean. Would high recommend.

Had my Audi's engine carbon cleaned by Adrian today. Very informative, honest and professional throughout, the car feels smoother through the full rev-range and the hesitation under throttle has gone. Well worth the money.

Think I have used Adrian services at Engine Carbon Clean five times now on different cars. Excellent service as per the norm. I have had Adrian out before for carbon cleans but yesterday I had him out to clean my DPF as I have been struggling getting it to regenerate. Adrian is full of knowledge and always tells you straight. He sorted my DPF out as it had been in limp mode for a few weeks now. Great service great price great guy will definitely be going back.

Booked Adrian in again for a Carbon Clean and this time on my newly purchased VW Passat 2.0 TDI and also an issue with my Step sons Audi A3 2.0 TDI which requires a DPF clean. Vw on the inspection through the Diagnostic machine everything was running sweet, after the Carbon Clean there is an Instantly noticeable difference on the throttle response and a lot smoother now. The Audi has been a nightmare for a couple of months, This had been to a couple of garages with the car in limp mode and wouldn’t re-generate, on inspection he was informed that it required a DPF Sensor changing , this didn’t work , then he was informed it require a Turbo Actuator , didn’t work and then apparently it required a lambda sensor. The issue was still there, A phone call to Adrian and instantly with an answer to why it won’t re-generate is because the issue had not been diagnosed early enough and therefor the DPF was clogged up. On his Diagnostic machine the back pressure was 100 ,and the worst he had experienced on a Vag Engine , A further Code saying high Ash content, It wasn’t looking good but Adrain said he was confident he could resolve the issues , after a DPF clean the back pressure dropped to 10 from 100 and it was a success , The car Re-Generated and is running really well now. Absolute Gentleman has always and very professional with a huge amount of knowledge. Another fantastic Job and thank you… Richard

Audi A5 3.0 tdi Quattro First used ECC East Mids back in May for an engine clean and then again in September for a DPF clean, Adrian is the ultimate professional, calls/texts in advance of appointments with eta, full diagnostic scan (before and after cleans sent to your phone) takes the time to fully explain what everything means and what impact various sensors/parts have to influence the reason for needing a DPF or engine clean, I myself now have more of an understanding of how a diesel engine should be working its best and how to keep it that way! Car runs amazing now. Will personally be using again in the future and have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Adrian and his business, 5 stars are not enough for this gem of a service

Adrian came to carbon clean my Audi A4 and did a superb job. Diagnosed a faulty thermostat for me which was very unknowingly causing me problems. He’s very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Arrived on time and was very efficient. Very happy to recommend

Having recently purchased a Ford Kuga I had done some motorway miles and noticed it to be unresponsive and struggling in higher gears. I booked a diagnostic appointment through messenger on Facebook and was rewarded with a very professional response from Adrian. The appointment was in the late afternoon and I was kept informed of the arrival time during the day. A full diagnosis and engine clean was performed and a dpf pressure sensor issue was found. Immediately upon my first drive after the work on the car I found a increase in responsiveness and a improvement in mpg. Having now replaced the sensor I’m looking forward to many miles of trouble free motoring. From start to finish I found Adrians company very professional and courteous. Very happy with the service provided by F5ECC on my 1998 Mercedes SLK230. I am always careful who I use when having work done on my vehicles but all of the positive reviews of F5ECC made my decision to have the engine carbon cleaned by this company. Adrian kept me updated with information at the time of booking the car in and his communication was excellent. He phoned me to let me know an estimated arrival time and arrived at exactly this time! I was very interested in seeing what is done, Adrian talked me through the diagnostic procedure detailing what each code meant sending me copies of stored and current fault codes whilst he was there which I can give to a garage at a later date. He showed me how the carbon clean was done and was honest throughout in that the procedure can work better/outcomes can be more noticeable on some cars more than others, this will depend on how well they have been maintained, mileage, whether used for short journeys. I asked a lot of questions and Adrian answered them thoroughly. Adrian is a top bloke and it is without doubt that he knows his job inside out, I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Great customer service from the moment of spoke to them. Very upfront on what the clean can and can’t do. After the carbon clean my MPG has improved by 10MPG. My car is driving a lot smoother and is quieter at idle which is what I’m most impressed with. It now drives better than when I bought it. Will definitely be using again

I was sceptical about this process initially. Having done the research, however, there are a wealth of cowboy firms out there who lack the knowledge, skill and vehicle sympathy to do it correctly - poor quality kit being used in an amateurish way, usually doing more harm than good. Having looked into the process and read the reviews on ECCEM, I decided to give it a go. My vehicle is a VW Passat Alltrack, 2013, 2.0 TDI originally 140 bhp but mapped to around 185. I run a K&N filter and it is regularly serviced, I only use premium fuel - I wasn't convinced I would notice a difference. I was wrong. The whole customer service aspect was second to none. Very efficient and professional. Adrain is incredibly knowledgeable. Explained the process and taught me some very useful stuff. His advice on how to manage your DPF alone is worth the fee. He loves his job and his cars - you're in safe hands. Laptop plugged in, I got very detailed information about the state of the vehicle - this is incredibly useful if you want to stay on top of your maintenance. Also an indispensable health check for your car. Immediately after cleaning, change in engine note was obvious, much crisper with a lot of ther low down diesel 'grumble' eliminated. Performance is much more linear across the rev range - it's not about power, it's about smoothness of delivery. Slight increase in MPG too, although your results will depend on the condition of your vehicle. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I had my car Carbon cleaned today, it feels and sounds so much better than what it did. If you have a high mileage car then from my experience it brings it back to life highly recommended.

This is the second time I have called upon Adrian's service, this time for a 58 plate Vectra diesel with emissions problems and smoking issues. The vehicle was booked in for MOT on the same day. Adrian arrived promptly as stated and got to work on cleaning the engine of carbon build up, during the clean Adrian's data on the laptop was showing some incorrect issues with the car. On inspection Adrian had found that the swirl flap linkage rod was loose causing poor air mixture etc, this as been the primary cause of smoking on start up of the engine this has been going on for some time, it was nice to get a definitive diagnosis which can now be rectified. To say the least the vehicle passed it's MOT. Adrian also gave me a discount on the price due to being a Key worker which was much appreciated

From the first contact to completion of the carbon clean I can only describe my experience as totally professional. Adrian explained each part of the process and answered any questions I had. I was confident during the process that I had made the correct decision to use Adrian. Even partway through I noticed a noise reduction from the engine and have certainly noticed an improved engine response when accelerating.
