We had a replacement Velux window installed in our loft space. Having been let down by two other companies, we found Essex Roofing. The response to our request for a free quote was quick and Lewis (the company MD) who came was extremely helpful and clear about the job whereas other companies referred to various problems with the installation. Whilst not the cheapest, we found an affordable option with Lewis. Fitting was completed about 2 weeks later. The two man fitting team (Mason & Reece) arrived essentially on time and were polite, respectful of our property, efficient, clean in their work, knowledgeable and helpful. All in all we could not have wished for a better service - thank you!

I had used Essex Roofing Ltd previously, so when rainwater was spilling over the edge of my front guttering consequently causing a loud noise when hitting the driveway, I called Lewis for a quote. He called round very promptly, had the quote later that day and called to fix it the next. The blocked gutter was cleared, connected pipe work was checked and everything was tested. Any Debris was also removed. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. They are very professional, polite, timely and respectful of property.

Essex Roofing Limited had earlier (March 2024) replaced four rooflights on behalf of Velux: this work had been completed on programme in a very professional manner, with minimum inconvenience to us. Lewis was personally involved throughout and kept us informed of progress, order of works etc. Subsequently, we experienced a roof leak emanating from a failed chimney flashing on a separate roof from the Velux works. Once again, Lewis acted promptly and professionally, identifying the problem, proposing the solution and carrying-out the work required. I would not hesitate to recommend Essex Roofing Limited.

Even though the work was a smaller job (fixing blown guttering on roof and cleaning and sealing conservatory guttering), I felt I got the same standard of service I would for a much larger job. Communication was excellent from start to finish and everything happened in a timely and professional manner and according to what had been discussed and in line with the quotation. I was very impressed and will certainly use Essex Roofing Limited again.

We had an excellent experience with Essex Roofing when replacing 3 Velux windows. The initial home visit and discussion was a good and informative, and all questions were thoroughly answered. The 3 Velux windows were replaced in one day in an efficient manner, with the workmen being pleasant and clearing up well afterwards. The work was carried out from the inside of the house only, and there was therefore no need to use ladders to access the windows from the outside. This work was carried out in an efficient professional manner from start to finish.

Booked this company to take down a chimney under and cover off with tiles. The quote was competitive and the 3 lads that turned up had the job were polite and left my home tidy. Will be using them again for future roofing work.

I can't recommend Essex Roofing Limited enough. Unfortunately, I lost a ridge tile in a recent storm. I emailed some photos to help with a quote and had the quote within the day after first contact. The work was carried out before the initially suggested date by two extremely polite and professional staff. It's really refreshing to have work carried out with the minimum of fuss by excellent staff. Don't hesitate to contact, these guys!

I wanted two Velux windows in my roof. I went to the Velux website and found three certified installers. Essex Roofing were the only ones who bothered to reply to me. Lewis came to have a look at the job and was knowledgable and answered all my questions. He was helpful in recommending the right windows to fit my needs and the property. The installers turned up on time and just got on with the job. They were polite and competent and used dust sheets and tidied up well after themselves. Very pleased with the results, would highly recommend and already have done to others.

Supplied and fitted a sun tunnel. Pleasure to deal with from getting the quote (with good advice on best options) to it being fitted. Reasonably priced and quality of workmanship was great. Also very careful with my bathroom and used dustsheets to cover everything and even vacuumed it afterwards to leave it clean. Highly recommend.

Lewis arrived promptly to view job and quote and I knew from that initial meeting, which roofer I was using. Lewis was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and forthcoming with ideas and solutions to help cost engineer my job to get the best performance and outcome possible. Contacted Essex Roofing 18/02/21. The initial home visit took place, all seemed good and that was it. Work was agreed to sort out the problem, however, contact after that was somewhat sporadic by email and they never turned up as agreed to complete the work as agreed and no communication despite repeated calls to them. Overall this Company just wasted my time and I sent them an email advising that I would find someone more reliable.

I first contacted Lewis, if this is his name, few months back about gutters I wanted to change. Always saying he is interested and keeping me in suspend without actually doing anything such as visiting. I just had 2 velux put into my loft but, unfortunately, I am getting smaller as I am getting older been in my 70s so it is very difficult for me to reach the mechanism, so looking for somebody to make those automatic I posted the requirements onto velux. Essex Roofing replied straight away and give me a quote, without visiting, I accepted. Then nothing, carry on calling me, emailing me sometimes even saying he will giving me a quote, totally ignoring what was arranged. Where all those positive reviews come from, I wonder. Totally irresponsive, both his phone lines saying the messages boxes are full so no other messages can be left. Where is he? Is he real or just a website created for fun?
