Mike’s work is always top quality. He’s worked on prepping my kitchen for a refit and repairing several bathroom items. He’s very meticulous, so sometimes I have to remind him I’m paying him by the hour! I always do my bit too, and he’s a great collaborative worker. We occasionally brainstorm unexpected problems, and come up with a good solution. He won’t scrimp on cheap parts, but that means whatever we repaired will last a long time before any further repairs are needed. He is rather demanding regards tea or coffee. My advice is to get him a can or two of beer and he backs right off on that front 😊

Had a couple of annoying, fiddly jobs I wasn’t comfortable tackling myself (adjusting a fire door and fixing the face panel on an integrated dishwasher). Mike was great — super friendly, very tidy, and with excellent attention to detail. Great value for money and highly recommend!

Mike responded very quickly to an enquiry through the Trustedtraders website to agree a quote for the work. The work was hanging 2 mirrors and a bathroom cabinet and putting up 3 shelves in an airing cupboard. He came a few days later as agreed and carried out the works during the morning as agreed. There were some complications (with what lay behind the plasterboard) but he sorted it all out and we’re very happy with the results.

I contacted Mike for help with various jobs in my new property. He responded very quickly. The day arrived and Mike arrived on time. Mike is extremely conscientious and absolutely wants to do a great job - and he does! Mike was extremely tidy and respectful of my property and he was very inventive with solutions for little problems as they arose. In addition, Mike is a very nice and friendly man and it was a pleasure to have him working in my house. I will definitely be calling on Mike for any future DIY or painting requirements. Top notch!

Mike has completed several jobs for me in the last year including installing secondary double glazing and painting the outside of my house. His work has been simply excellent - he is a meticulous and tidy craftsman who takes great pride in his work. His communication is outstanding and he is flexible and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he is great at providing updates as the work progresses. His estimates are accurate and he completes work on time. I can't praise the quality of his work highly enough - he goes above and beyond to ensure that the customer is happy. I recommend him without reservation and am pleased to have found him to do my maintenance work.

We needed some skirting boards fitted in a refurbished conservatory with some funny corner angles etc. I got in touch with Mike by email and he responded very quickly and we arranged a date/time at relatively short notice, which was great. He was punctual and not only carried out the agreed work efficiently and very competently but also gave the boards a lick of paint as well, saving me a job and going beyond what we'd originally agreed. I would very much recommend EXP's services and will not hesitate to use again, top stuff.

I have finally found an amazing handyman. My house had not been decorated for a long time and one interior wall was suffering from water damage. Mike used a number of creative solutions to repair and decorate my kitchen, bathroom and downstairs toilet. The finished result is beautiful and they now look like new again. I am so pleased with my boxed in pipes that I have made them into a ‘feature’. Mike is a skilful and talented problem solver. I really appreciated how he not only decorated my house to a high standard but also restored my wooden conservatory doors, fixed the shower, put up shelves and mouse proofed my house. Mike is a lovely man who has the patience of a saint. He is very professional, reliable and a nice person to have around.

Mike from EXP Property Maintenance came to our house in May 2024 and he put up some curtain rails and curtains and some pictures and did some repairs. We were satisfied with the results . Mike is a friendly and cheerful person and was a pleasure to have in the house. We would be prepared to use Mike again. A tradesman I came across recently told the interesting story that "Which Trusted Trader" actually sent someone to speak to them , gave them a grilling in order to vet them whereas another similar organisation, which better remain nameless , didn't bother. The latter organisation just put his name on their site as someone who was supposedly recommended as long as they were paid. So regarding certain other tradesman-recommendation sites, "Caveat Emptor!"

I needed a new curtain rail to be fitted, and my curtains to be rehung. Michael carried out the work very efficiently and cheerfully, I am very happy with his work and I will certainly make use of EXP Property Maintenance in the future.

Mike recently installed four secondary glazing units at my rental property. He was extremely professional and easy to work with, and provided a clear and accurate estimate of the costs ahead of doing the work. He completed the job promptly and to a very high standard. I was very impressed with his attention to detail and the care he took to make sure the installation was perfect. He was happy to liaise direct with my tenant to arrange a day to complete the work and the tenants were delighted with their interaction with him. I will definitely be using him again for all my future property maintenance work. Very highly recommended!

Mike Gowdy recently completed some work for me. This is the second lot of jobs he has done for me, as I was much impressed first time around. This time, there was some decorating/painting inside and outside the work was to do with gate lock changing, plus improvements in insulation and appearance around windows. The work was of the usual high standard, and visitors have been impressed. Mike communicates well, and is responsive to requests. He resolves problems very effectively . All of this is done with great flexibility and at very reasonable cost. All in all, great value for money, and I shall most probably ask back for more work.

I have used Mike from EXP several times for a wide variety of jobs from repair of tiling, door insulation, making a new door, to repair of guttering and myriad smaller maintenance jobs. He has done great work all these - often not straightforward jobs- using skill and problem solving creativity and always offering cost effective alternatives. He is versatile and totally reliable. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

I called Michael of EXP to repair a front door lock and improve the draught proofing around the door. He came back to me promptly providing an estimate for the job via email and came round within days to do the job. He fixed the lock quickly and then set to work trying to block the gap around the front door that was letting in the cold air. Due to the age of the solid wood door, it was warped so conventional off the shelf draught- proofing didn't work. Despite this, Michael used his considerable carpentry skills to repair the problem. He also carefully painted the additional new wood so that it blended in well with the exisiting door frame. In the days following, the draugh-proofing was almost too effective and we found that sometimes we had to pull the door very hard to close it. I contacted Michael and he happily came back the next day and modified the dooor slightly so that it opened and closed more easily. Michael is a very skilled worker and a pleasant man to deal with, providing great customer service. I am happy to recommend him as a handyman.

Mike came and fixed problems with two toilets, some wiring, and plugs. Excellent work, good value and great communications all the way through.

We had a problem with our side door jamming. Mike was able to book us in promptly and did an excellent job. Highly recommended.

We have a sofa in a sort of 1950s retro style that had two of its legs buggered--one very badly, rendering it quite unusable--and got in touch with Mike to see what he could do (as well as sort out a couple of other odd jobs around our flat). And he was excellent: there was a bit of back-and-forth on email to work out some of the details of the challenge: I sent a photo, he asked for a measurement, and then he got to work thinking about how he might address the problem--which he did by attaching two wooden strips its underside, and screwing in four new artificial feet that take the weight off the damaged legs entirely, so the sofa is functioning perfectly well once again. So an imaginative bespoke solution to an irritating problem--and Mike was very easy to deal with, both over email, and in person when he showed up to wrestle directly with the sofa. I'm very pleased, and would certainly hire him again.

A survey of the house that we were buying identified an issue with the facia board on part of the house. We contacted Michael who carried out a thorough investigation and provided a detailed report of what was wrong and suggested solutions to fix the problem, together with a detailed quote. Having finally moved in some months later we asked Michael to carry out the work to fix the issue. Michael's approach was very thorough and he did a first-class job installing a new facia. Michael has an eye for detail and took his time to get the job done right. He also made a point of explaining what he was doing and explaining why. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for, and we will use him again if we have any more issues that need sorting. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Mike did a great job painting the house in a punishing heat wave and along the way fixed a bunch of issues left by window fitters. He did a great job and the house looks amazing.

Initially asked Mike to quote for what would have been a tricky and expensive repair on a hardwood conservatory, however, on seeing job Mike came up with an alternative solution which was much cheaper to implement and looks as good as new.

Mike had a challenge. Access to the missing piece of bargeboard was tricky because the boundary fence is very close to that side of the house. He came up with a solution that made his life more difficult than if the access had been straightforward but he got the job done without complaining. His attention to detail is apparent and pleasing. Despite the job taking longer than I expected (because of the access issues) his good humor carried the day. I will definitely be asking Mike to quote for some other jobs.

Mike has helped us on 2 large household projects (utility refurbishment and Living room decorating plus adding back in period features) and a long list of smaller jobs from repairing loose floorboards, repairing and fitting lights to fixing our toilet cisterns. Every job no matter how big or small was carried out meticulously and to a high standard. Mike was always ready to work around our requests or problem solve and seems to have the equipment to assist with just about any job! He also makes helpful suggestions when he spots things that need doing (e.g. the fact that bees seemed to be flying into our brickwork - he promptly cemented up the holes). We really valued his flexibility to enable us to add to his list when new things emerged in our new house that needed fixing. He was a pleasure to have in our home (leaving a great impression on our children!). We hope Mike will be able to continue to help us out in years to come. We are very happy with our new living room, which now has coving, picture rails and a ceiling rose. Thanks to Mike's suggestion of adding embellishments, our built-in bookshelves also now look smarter. The decorating was done to a very high standard. Our utility room now has much neater pipework, new cupboards (including a purpose-built cupboard for housing the boiler), a sink, worktop, ceiling light and boxed up piping. It's quite a transformation - Thank you Mike!

Excellent work from Mike - he dismantled and re-assembled our sliding wardrobe unit perfectly into its new position, replaced coving and skirting boards, re-positioned electrical sockets and then painted it all to a very high standard. We now have a beautiful and much better-proportioned bedroom. Oh, and then he painted the landing, stairs and hallway and fitted it around my enforced covid isolation. And he leaves his workspace tidy at the end of each day. We would most definitely recommend Mike - he is personable and friendly, he keeps his word, does a really good job and offers sound advice when needed. Can't fault his service.

Mike recently completed a whole range of jobs around the house for us including replacing lounge wall lights, and numerous bits of plumbing and carpentry. He responded promptly to my initial enquiry and arrived at the appointed time. He was very personable, tidy in his work and completed everything to a very high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike to anyone looking for handyman services.

First of all I would like to thank Mike for coming down to have a look at our new home at short notice! Mike was prompt in his response and was able to provide neutral and professional advice about the house. My partner and I learnt so much about what to prioritise and now we have a better understanding of what we are working with, we are going through our needs again. I'm glad to I thought to check Which in the first place. I had only previously looked on well known builder booking sites, but they don't seem to have the same reputation behind them. Ultimately, what you want in a builder is someone that is professional and trustworthy, that will save one from ruin in the long term.
