Rang Farthings on Monday 18th after experiencing a power cut 2 days earlier, and been unable to reignite boiler. Plumber arrived at 8.15am next morning and told us we had 2 options - a new circuit board on old boiler or a new boiler. Within about 5 hours we received a written quote for both options. We accepted the quote for a new boiler as old boiler was at least 15 years old. Plumber said it would be Thursday or Friday for new one to be fitted. Next morning (Wed) they rang at 8am to say they would be with us in half an hour. The new boiler arrived with the delivery driver and by 8.45 work was under way. Everything was done efficiently with no problems. Left clean and tidy. Thermostat/ timer set and explained. Work completed by 3.45pm. Further visit received on Friday to drain cleaner from system. All 4 plumbers who attended were polite, closed doors behind them as it was the coldest few days of the year. Nothing was too much trouble and all rubbish taken away.

Stress free progression from quote to installation, a good team and a local supplier. Installation completed as per date we were informed of.

I have used Farthings for a few years for annual boiler service, for a shower room refurbishment and the occasional leak. More recently they have replaced a faulty shower pump. They are always easy to contact, answer their phone promptly and provide quick and efficient service. Always a pleasure to deal with.

Excellent service from start to finish. Initial visit to advise on options as existing unit was leaking from under the tray. Decided to replace the whole shower cabinet as the existing one was over 25 years old. The work involved both plumbers and electrician and this was coordinated by Farthings. I was kept informed throughout the installation. Great friendly people who fitted in with my other commitments. Removed all the rubbish and left the bathroom clean and tidy. A lovely surprise when I received a bouquet of flowers to thank me for my custom. Great touch. Customer service is first class.

When our boiler failed during really cold weather last February, Farthings attended promptly and we quickly had heating back on. In September it failed again so we decided on a new boiler which Farthings installed. Their service was excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient. We also needed help with a leaking toilet cistern and the prompt response from Farthings was brilliant. Can't recommend them enough, a first class company.

My boiler failed Friday lunchtime. Farthings attended and diagnosed a terminal fault. They then sourced a new boiler 25 miles away and had it running by Saturday lunchtime. Outstanding service! Although I have used Farthings for years for my annual boiler service, I have no service contract with them, or any other connection.

Farthings Plumbing & Heating installed a complete new bathroom for me (new floor, tiling, complete new suit and fixtures and fittings). They were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. From the initial consultation, planning, product offer and highly skilled plumber, tiler & all-rounder (a real craftsman) they cannot be faulted. They started when they said they would, were tidy throughout and went above and beyond. Their level of workmanship was exemplary. I have no hestitation in recommending their services.

Fantastic service all round from Darryl's quote to completion. James, our fitter was first class, he arrived at eight every day and always told us what was happening on the day. He was professional and friendly, he's a credit to the company. We were due to have an extractor fan fitted but when the electrician arrived he found this couldn't be completed as per the original quote. An alternative method was found and completed at no addition cost. We're more than happy with the work completed and would use Farthings again.

Farthings have carried out a number of jobs for us, most recently a complete refit of our family bathroom and en-suite. They are a professional outfit. You get a detailed quotation within a couple of days of their visit and they now have a great showroom at their premises in Glenfield which is a great help with choosing products and tiles etc. Their prices are reasonable and comparable. We were allocated Kelvin for our job, who arrived before 8 am every day. His workmanship is of the highest standard with great attention to detail. He is also very engaging, nothing is too much trouble including hoovering carpets at the end of each day. Our 2 bathrooms are fantastic, we could not be more delighted and we do not say that very often! We would definitely use Farthings again and are happy to recommend them.

Booked the annual service of the Worcester Bosch boiler that Farthings installed 3 years ago. Work completed with little disturbance and no issues found. Good service from engineer and office. Would certainly use again

We had used Farthings on a number of occasions but the last time was to refit our downstairs cloakroom. Farthings came and measured up and produced a plan which was perfect for the room. Once we had agreed to the plan the work was scheduled and completed without a hitch to a very good standard. Their showroom was a great source of inspiration as it contained lots of examples which made the choice of materials so much easier than trying to choose them online or from a catalogue. What was most pleasing is that the whole job was completed by the same person with no hanging around for different trades to complete specific aspects of the fit. The fitter was really good and did a lovely job from start to finish and kept us updated all through the fitting out. Would highly recommend Farthings and indeed we have further work which needs attention and we shan't be looking anywhere else.

Farthings supplied and fitted a new bathroom for us 3 years ago. The service from start to finish was first class. Unfortunately, due to a leak from the loo the vanity units were damaged with water ingress. On the day of the leak after a phone call Farthings sent a plumber within the hour who identified the problem and made the loo safe. Due to the lock down they were not able to effect a repair but as soon as the lockdown was lifted they were able to order the parts and complete a full repair in 2 weeks. Pretty impressive given the circumstances. The bathroom now looks like new again. Excellent workmanship and very tidy workmen who respect your property. Would definitely recommend.

Big job. Lots of plumbing (new boiler), electrics (underfloor heating), brickwork, new windows and door, plastering, flooring, tiling etc. etc. etc. Very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and adaptable. Hard working and basically good at what they do. We're very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend them.

I called Farthings plumbers because the people that owned the house before me had some Farthings literature so I decided to call. The job was to fit a kitchen sink. The representative arrived and I showed him the sink which we took out of the box and he advised it would be no more than £80 + VAT which I thought was reasonable for providing a labour only service and gave him the go ahead The fitter arrived, did the job in 3 hours or so and left. A few days later, I received an invoice for £218.70. I called Farthings 4 times and someone said they'd get back to me but never did. I then eventually did get a call and the lady on the phone said she would send me a revised invoice. I received this and this was £188.70, a reduction because the fitter was waiting for materials or something. I have now written back disputing this and asking for a revised bill of £80 + vat. The letter that I received had no apology at all which was disappointing considering the time I have spent dealing with this. The sink was fitted adequately, however the fitter did forget to switch the tap isolator to the on position and I had to call him from the van, just as he was leaving to sort this out which he did. Furthermore, the blanking disc on the sink was not tightened properly and this is something I had to do myself.

Overall, the work was carried out very professionally and the finished job looks great. With hindsight, we would have liked greater clarity prior to the start of the work on what was entailed and how it would be done. We were disappointed with the company's initial response when the new shower did not work correctly and it was another week before this was resolved.

Had a new boiler installed end of August 2018 on an existing heating system. All went very well, good price, efficiently installed. Make sure you hide your toilet rolls and kitchen towels because the engineers aren't equipped with cleaning materials. A week after a radiator started leaking (due to age) and the nightmare began! They were supposed to send a written quote, when it didn't arrive I asked for verbal prices and was given them without VAT, and no mention that VAT was excluded. They also charge full manufacturers recommended retail prices for parts, when radiators can be bought at any plumbers merchant for almost half the price, including VAT. They also charged labour while the engineer waited for a second radiator to be delivered to my property. Invoice was £100 more than I expected. I complained, and after 2 months it was still not fully resolved to my satisfaction. They ignore letters and e-mails until chased by phone. It appears they give a good price for the boiler and then hammer you for any subsequent repairs. Finally resolved to my satisfaction on 14/11/18 after contacting Which Trusted Traders for assistance. I have used them on previous occasions without problem.

After waiting over two weeks for plumbers to come round to fix our boiler but never turning up or contacting us i finally went to this company. The girls in the office were very friendly and helpful and said they would try to fit us in for the following Friday. True to their word, Wayne phoned before 9am on the Friday morning to check we were in as he was 10mins away. After checking the problem he had to phone around for a new PC Board. Whilst waiting, he went on another job. Not long after he phoned to say he had sourced the part and quoted a price. After the go ahead he returned later to repair the boiler. Polite, friendly and helpful. Thank you Wayne. Know were to come next time for reliable service.

My wife & I visited the showrooms & picked all the items we needed for the new bathroom & shower in one go.This saved a great deal of trouble & travel.The fitter ( Carl) could not have been more helpful,what with the weather being so so hot during the two weeks he was stripping out & fitting the complete bathroom & shower. The fact that Farthings fetch the rubbish each evening is , in my view a big plus. The standard of work was not an issue & Carl was ready each day to check with my "wife" if every thing was OK. I would be happy to recommend Farthings to anybody.

Farthings fitted a completely new boiler in less than 2 days. Very tidy, very little mess, even dust. All pipework looks secure and re-balanced the system so that parts of the underfloor heating network that hadn't worked for a while, now work! Couldn't be happier.

I was so impressed with Farthings, my boiler broke down they came out and installed a new boiler the next day as I had no heating or hot water, I am so impressed with the service from installation to customer service, thanks and I will recommend you to my friends and family

Did a fantastic job converting our old bathroom into a fully functional wet room. The tradesmen were friendly,polite and cleaned up after themselves every day. Couldn't fault their work and would have no hesitation using them again or recommending them.

Came to check on my faulty boiler before returning later in the day, to carry our the required maintenance at a fair price. Friendly to communicate with and efficient in their practice from my experience. Would certainly return to them with any future requirements.

We chose Farthings to refit our bathroom based on customer reviews and were very impressed with their service from the initial contact to completion of the job. They arrived at the appointed time and provided a detailed, itemised quotation at a reasonable price; they were helpful in choosing furniture and sanitary ware and liased with our tile suppliers. The fitters arrived promptly every day and worked in a highly professional way, tidying up every evening; nothing was too much trouble for them; any issues were dealt with and resolved practically without fuss. The job was completed on time and we now have a lovely new bathroom, a quality finish. Farthings also provided a detailed, itemised invoice in line with their original quotation and then sent flowers by way of thanks! All in all an excellent company to work with and we would definitely use them again.

Farthings damaged my highly polished and expensive chrome shower whilst replacing a thermostatic cartridge ten days ago. The engineer did not deny he had to my wife. We reported the damage to their office and customer services and was told Paul Farthing a Director of the company would call back within two hours, he didn't nor the next day either. More than a week and a dozen calls later with me promising to visit their office to deal with it in person I finally receive a call to advise me the engineer denies causing any damage and I must have damaged it myself. I feel that this company is thoroughly untrustworthy in its approach, actions, and promises. They have lied to me and my wife for more than ten days and over a total of 20 calls made to them. I have been left with no option but to take them to court to recover my loss. Please do not make the same mistake I have, but as a principled person I refuse to be ripped off and will not be on this matter. RJ Weir 5/08/2016

Installed a new boiler quickly and efficiently. The office staff are also very efficient and helpful.

I have used this company for several years but they seem to have deteriorated recently. I have experienced work done poorly (a new tap fitted that now moves and leaks), work incomplete (a pipe through a wall with an empty promise of returning to cement it in), work forgotten (an emergency call about a leak which I had to chase for a plumber to arrive two days later) and an admission that plumbers cannot arrive for previously agreed times (in this case over three hours late and no phone call to inform me of the delay). I have taken these issues up with the company owner with no satisfactory outcome.

Quite extensive work was carried out over 4 days, it was completed as quickly as possible & entirely to our satisfaction. The work was done efficiently & cleaned up very well.
