FM Building Ltd

Marius and his team were great. They refurbished whole apartment and also have advice etc., also very responsive. They were prompt and very polite. Building work adjustments were needed but their price was fair and overall would recommend. In fact I am using them again.

Marius and his team refurbished our house for around 4 months with jobs ranging from plastering, bracing/ crack stitching, laminate and bamboo flooring, internal doors, bathroom and wc, a flat roof replacement, painting and decoration, and external guttering/sofit/fascia replacement amongst other things. We were impressed with Marius from the first day he came to inspect the property as he seemed very confident with the job of restoring an old house and provided us with sensible and detailed guidance on what he thought needed to be done. He provided fair quotes and his invoices broke down the work done by line item which was excellent for transparency and helping us manage our budget. His team are very experienced at a range of work and we were very pleased with their hard work and quality. Everyone we met was professional and courteous. A special shout out to Mohammad as our primary contractor as we were so impressed with his hard work and range of skills.

I requested a quote from Marius and unfortunately it did not have the correct and complete scope of works on the quote. I asked him to revise the quote which he was unwilling to do because of his “workload commitments”. I personally find it extremely unprofessional to not be able to provide a complete quote and also strange. This has given me the impression the company is untrustworthy and I would not waste time contacting this trader.

While we are happy with the final look of most of the balcony, working with Marius was a nightmare. What should have been a two-week job dragged on for three months, cost us way more the original budget for added costs that should have been included to begin with, and left us with major issues still unresolved — including a defective window, cabinets, and furniture doors that don’t stay closed. Our new window was left unusable during a heatwave, and Marius even told us he “didn’t know the window needed a handle” so it had to be nailed shut- and he then charged us £150 to install a simple hook. We are having to get a new window installed for his negligence and he is refusing to give a proper refund. He also charged for things never done, like a window fastener, and billed £200 just to install lights we had already purchased. The furniture he built was not of the quality we expected: the finishes are rough, doors don’t shut properly, and what was meant to be a waterproof cabinet doesn’t close at all. His team was unprofessional — loud, watching YouTube videos without headphones while we worked from home, leaving cigarette butts around, and leaving our flat in a mess we repeatedly had to clean, including a filthy bathroom. We had to fight every step of the way, pay far more than quoted, and are still left with defective work that now needs to be fixed by someone else. While parts of the work turned out fine, the process was stressful, expensive, and deeply unprofessional.

We are very happy with the work of Marius and his team for our kitchen renovation. This involved removing the existing kitchen, putting up a new stud wall, wallpapering, painting, electrical and plumbing works, as well as fitting bespoke cabinets. I was happy with the quote provided and found everyone to be professional and polite. Communication was excellent and, most importantly, the end result was excellent. Would definitely use this company again.

Excellent work. Repaired leak. New bathroom tiling and new tiling around the fireplace. Fixed ceiling from the leak. Highly recommended.
