About
At Forbes Tree Care we run a team of highly qualified, experienced tree surgeons working in north London. We can carry out any tree related service you require, including tree pruning, tree felling and tree planting. We provide impartial advice on what’s best for you and your tree.
We are qualified in Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) and trained to use Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA). We can provide risk assessments and mortgage reports.
We are Associate Members of the Arboricultural Association.
We are fully insured and all our work is carried out to BS3998: 2010 and BS5837: 2012.
Based in North London, Forbes Tree Care Ltd was founded in 2010 by Sean Galton. A passion for conservation was the motivation to form a company that could maintain and care for trees in the urban environment.
We put the environment at the forefront of our work, reducing emissions and reusing tree products wherever possible. We appreciate the importance of safety and trees in the city.

Have used the services of Forbes for several years to carry out annual tree and bush pruning. Also this year to dig out unwanted plants. Their teams are courteous, efficient and responsive to working jointly throughout the work. They are also particular in clearing away the cut foliage at the end of the job. Forbes Tree Care managed to gain planning consent in a conservation area to fell an enormous tree in the front garden, which has transformed the home and street immeasurably. The Forbes team were punctual, friendly and very considerate to protect the home from mess. They tirelessly persisted climbing and felling through rain and hail. They also removed a huge amount of ivy from another large tree at the rear. All tasks were expertly and thoroughly completed with a minimum of fuss. We are very happy to recommend this excellent team of gardeners. They removed several seriously overgrown shrubs and then returned with a stump grinder to clear roots. The young team of both men and women arrived on time, budget estimate was reasonable and adhered to, and the team was very friendly and careful with the management of noise and clearing up after themselves. Their equipment was besides environmentally friendly. It was a joy to have them around and we are happy to recommend them. They also showed good area knowledge, though the firm is located further north of London. They left giving advice on how we can now proceed ourselves. In all a great success. Thank You!

The team that came worked on a number of our trees including very tall trees. The three person team came on time on the scheduled date and were really friendly, sociable and also knew their trees! The work was done swiftly to the agreed brief and our property was left tidy, and all cut-down material was cleared. As usual Forbes Tree Care did an excellent job of reducing my lovely Magnolia tree to a manageable size . They arrived as scheduled and were friendly and checked with me my job requirements and worked efficiently until work completed. They continued to check in with me during the work to make sure I was happy with the extent of the reduction work and removed all the waste created leaving my garden tidy . I was very pleased with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again and would happily recommend them to others .

I have used Forbes Treecare on a number of occasions to prune my magnolia tree. On all occasions I have been very pleased with their work. The team always do an excellent job, they are always on time and efficient. I work, so cannot be at home when they are doing the pruning but I have every confidence in them as professionals and the garden is left tidy after they have finished. I have a gorgeous Acer in my front garden, it's an ornamental tree. With all the rain this summer it morphed into a much larger tree and was dominating the front garden blocking out light and so on. I love this tree and I wanted to make sure that it was sympathetically pruned. Alex came to first scope out the job and then he did the trimming with the help of the other guys. Acers don't like to be heavily pruned and it takes real expertise to do it properly. The tree looks great! Alex did a terrific job and was so pleasant to work with.

Both times the service has been friendly, economical and professional, from communication, quoting, and the actual service on the day (including great clean up in the garden and house). The crew pruned 3 large London plane trees and an overgrown Pyracantha bush. They organised the necessary permissions from the local council and liaised with the neighbours at the rear, very efficiently. They arrived on time, and quickly got organised, each person (including a woman) knowing what they were to do. They cleared the cuttings as they went along, and my garden was left clean and tidy.

I required a dead plum tree taken down and chopped for firewood together with a holly and pyracantha hedge reduced by 1 metre. Alfie Bines Gardens recommended Forbes Treecare. I called Sean and a visit to look at work and provide quote was arranged within 24 hours. The quote was received within a couple of days, accepted and the date was agreed. The team of two arrived as arranged at 8.30am and worked solidly without a break until completion at 3pm. All work was efficiently completed and the waste was removed. Helpfully the firewood was carried up the lawn and stacked as requested. In summary, a highly skilled job carried out professionally.
