I've been using Ian for domestic electrical work for a few years now, he's extremely knowledgeable, skilled and gets the job done. I've recently also used him for some jobs at my workplace, with the same great service. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Ian for any electrical work, highly recommended.

Ian arrived bang on time, we had already discussed my lighting issues on the phone and he had given helpful interim advice. He talked me through the lighting issues in my bathroom, kitchen and lounge explaining exactly what the problems were and what needed to be done. 2 hours later everything was done and no mess left behind. I contacted Ian via a text message to get a quote for an EICR for the ground floor of my property. He responded very quickly and soon after we had a call to discuss the job. During that call he asked me quite a few questions and provided me with a quote, which was competitive. I accept the quote and we agreed on a date. Ian carried out the EICR and kept me informed throughout the process. As the main supply had to be interrupted many times he warned me in advance and on the day so I was able to still work from home with no interruptions to my work. This is the second job i have had done from Ian. Both times he was quick to arrive, knowledgeable and completed the job thoroughly and safely.

I reached out to Ian looking for a quote on EICR certification and some remedial work on a socket. He responded the same day and after providing him with additional info he was able to provide a quote price. This level of prompt & knowledgeable communication was maintained throughout, from arranging a convenient time for the work to be done and advising on found faults and the different sorts of alarms now required by law to then providing the EICR certificate and the invoice. I bought a 3-bed house with 2 reception rooms. The house required a complete overhaul, including the redesign and overhaul of its electrics. I invited quotes from several of Which? Trusted Traders and what decided me on Foreman Electrical was the precision and transparency of Ian’s quote and obvious technical expertise. Other quotes were imprecise and cursory, whereas Ian invested a lot of time to understand the requirements of the project. As a matter of fact, he precipitated the forethought and pre-design of the living solution to my new home, and that ultimately paid dividends. The work Ian undertook included a complete rewiring of the house, installation of a new fuse board, and installation of lighting and electrical points throughout the house, as well as fire alarms. Ian is technically brilliant, and professionally reliable. I had to make changes to the plans and Ian was accommodating. Ian’s quote was precise and fully transparent, and his delivery was to plan and to deadline. Furthermore, Ian provided further assurance by arranging certification for all the works done. Foreman Electrical is my electrician of choice and I thoroughly recommend to all. When my sister needed a trustworthy honest electrician, I did not hesitate to recommend Ian. I have used Ian before for a previous job as he was recommended by a colleague of mine. The first job he did was carried out promptly and he fitted a new ring doorbell, as well as recommending light switches for our garage, which were previously in an awkward position, not close to our entrance. He discussed options on his first visit and then returned to complete the job with the products we had chosen, under his advice. We asked him to come back and rectify 2 double light switches in our living room which were temperamental. Ian provided a reasonable quote and came to carry out the work within the timeframe he had promised. He also fitted a new light switch which was broken in a downstairs w/c. His prices were competitive, and in addition, being in the local area he was able to come to do the job quickly. Ian also provided us with good advice regarding smoke alarms and recommended some on request, sending us links to aid our decision. He was really friendly and professional, cleaning up, leaving the area tidy. I would highly recommend him for electrical works and will use his services again in the future.

I found Ian on the Which Trusted Traders website and sent him an email on the morning of 25th. October 2023. I had a phone call back from him later in the same morning and, as he was just finishing a job in my area, he asked if it was convenient to 'pop in' in about 10 minutes - which it was. I needed an old ceiling light fitting removed from a bedroom and replaced by one I had already bought AND he also put up a ceiling light in my study to replace the old fashioned 'cord' and bulb which had been hanging there for years! He told me what the cost would be in advance as he was able to do the work there and then if it was convenient to me, which it was. The whole thing took less than an hour and I was charged a very reasonable price. Ian was pleasant and very helpful and I will certainly not hesitate to use him again.

I asked Ian to come and provide a quote for replacing some ceiling lighting at my flat, which I have just moved into. He gave helpful advice and suggestions for each job I was considering doing and shared his rates and possible costs. He swiftly followed up with a quote and we agreed a day for him to replace four ageing light fittings. On the day the work was done within the expected timeframe and quoted amount, all mess tidied up and a good job done. He's helpful and enthusiastic about his job and is happy to suggest solutions. Really pleased with the experience.

Ian changed 7 socket face plates for me. He came to quote for the job and then confirmed the day he would be able to complete it. He gave me notice before he arrived and completed the work. We also had a nice chat! Would definitely recommend.

I purchased some lights from a reputable major high street retailer who offered to fit them for me. When they came to do the work it was clear that it was beyond their capability and they left having removed the old lights without being able to connect the new ones. I called Ian out to fix the problem. Without any fuss he installed the new lights quickly and efficiently. What the retailers electrician had said was a difficult job turned out to be pretty routine for Ian. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone on the lookout for a good electrician.

We lost power in our dining room and part of our kitchen. I went on the Which Local site to look for an electrician and saw Ian's good reviews. I emailed him the problem, and he called me back although he was on holiday. He called in immediately on his return, he explained very clearly how we could get over the problem. He emailed me a quote which I accepted and he returned a few days later to start the work. The work took 1.5 days, and he did a very neat and tidy job. I would recommend Ian to anyone who needs an electrician, as he is a friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable electrician.

Finally decided to change the lights in our living and dining room to spotlights. Ian very kindly came around to have a look at our existing layout as well as get an understanding of what we wanted. Lockdown meant working from home in the winter months we just didn’t have enough light, with our living room never having had a main centre light. Ian very kindly listened to our ideas before offering some solutions. He showed some pictures of how things would look in both rooms. He also explained how he would need to fix the lights. One was working from the rooms above (which meant more work as it involved pulling up carpets and floorboards) or cutting a channel in the ceiling. This was less work but meant the channel would need to be filled in (he recommended someone to do the plastering). Ian measured out where the lights would go, 10 in one room and 4 in the other, then checked with us that we were happy before cutting the channel into the ceiling. I was expecting a lot of noise and dust but Ian made sure there was dust sheets down and cleaned up as he went so there was very little dust in the room. He also very kindly explained about the safety of earthing the wiring and as part of the work he did this as well. He explained the difference in spotlights and their respective brightness, all of which he ordered for us. He also fitted dimmer switches on our request. Our rooms are now brighter than ever. We can’t recommend Ian enough. Definitely a trusted electrician.

I contacted Ian because his reviews were excellent and I was considering an electrical report on a house we are buying. He talked me through the process and gave me lots of useful tips and information to help us think about the issue. He then offered to look at some paperwork we had on the house’s electrics. Ian’s advice and comments on the property were very helpful indeed, and made us think we probably didn’t need a report at this stage, so he has talked himself out of a job! I offered to pay for the advice but he said he was happy to help. His communication was clear and informative and interesting and we will definitely use him for our electrics in the future.

Ian was polite and efficient. I had a pull switch that had jammed and a 3 way switch which caused the circuit to fizz. He changed the pull switch and the switch after popping to the electrical wholesaler to pick up a new switch.

I contacted Ian to source and fit 9 mains smoke and heat alarms in our house. I didn’t know much about the options available but Ian provided useful information and guidance, which enabled me to come to a decision. He also came to do a quote in person so he could accurately quote on the scope of the job. He was able to purchase the alarms and came to fit them the next day. Ian was polite, helpful, informative and efficient during the fitting, and followed up promptly with the additional reports to prove the alarms were working correctly. Very pleased with his work and would recommend.

I had several jobs for replacing the fuse board, fixing a couple of plugs, new smoke alarms and checking some other items. Ian was more than thorough, clean and tidy, providing certified documentation and videos of what he had done and how it works. He is very trustworthy and good value for money for a job well done

Ian re-wired our house which we bought and were renovating back in 2017 and he has looked after our electrical needs since then. At the time, he was reassuringly more knowledgeable than the earlier electrician and carried out the job and all subsequent jobs to a high standard and is very reliable, positive and friendly. He has just carried out some wiring for my elderly father who has dementia, he was very sensitive to the situation and my father was reassured and happy. I am happy to recommend him.

Ian completed the electrical work required for our new outbuilding, which included upgrading outdated wiring on our home's main board. He was very pleasant to work with, showed up when he said he would, came up with creative solutions when problems arose, and ran wiring so neat and tidy it's a shame it's now hidden by plasterboard. I am extremely happy to recommend Ian Foreman Electrical. I needed the lights in the bathroom replaced with updating lighting and the associated cabling tidied up. Ian visited prior to accepting the job to see what work was required and to provide a quotation. Ian asked what type of lights I was thinking of getting and gave his expert opinion. Ian completed a small rewiring job for us in preparation for a future heat pump installation. All work was expertly carried out with the minimum of fuss. Clearly an experienced professional with a helpful personal approach.

I am very happy to recommend Ian as an electrician. We needed an old outside security light replacing with an up-to-date LED one. The job was not straightforward because of our requirement to be able to operate the light with a switch as well as with the movement detector. His response to my request was almost immediate, he liaised with the agents and tenants to gain access to the property, and carried out the work to an excellent standard. Got Ian over to go through what needed to be done to install a new induction cooker, living in an older house it was quite a task, Ian couldn’t have been more helpful with his advice and the work he carried out in replacing an old fuse board and installing a new circuit, he was friendly professional and courteous at all times and made the process so much less painful then it otherwise could have been, he talked us through the process from beginning to end, who to talk to in upgrading the house fuse etc. and made what could have been a confusing issue into a simple one!! I won’t be using anyone else for future work, thanks Ian!

Ian installed a ceiling rose which was tricky due to there being 3 wires from what was previously a ceiling fan fitting. I needed it done fairly quickly due to my house move. Ian turned up at the time he said he would, explained the complexities of switched live wires & completed the work very efficiently. I wish I had found Ian years ago but I'm now moving out of the area.

Ian arrived on time and provided a clear estimate. He came to carry out the work, again on time, which in my experience doesn't always happen. We contacted Ian following a recommendation by a previous customer. Ian replaced our fuse board to provide RCBOs and a surge protection device and also replaced metal light switches and fittings with plastic ones throughout the house. he was very thorough and professional and pleasant to deal with. I first contacted Ian to ask for a quote on a few jobs around the house (repairing sockets, adding new sockets, rewiring lights, removing an electric heater) - he was extremely helpful, giving me lots of honest advice which meant that he actually talked me out of doing several jobs (and therefore himself out of some of the work!) since it made more sense to do these at the same time as we would plan to redecorate. He then came round soon after to carry out the work, and throughout he was both efficient and very helpful with advice on other issues. When he uncovered some particularly unusual wiring issues, he also did a brilliant job of working out what was causing problems each time and solving this, explaining as he went, and making everything safe and to high quality standards. All the time he was very friendly and personable, and I will certainly be in touch with him next time I need any electrical work done. On top of all of that, he was very reasonably priced and was always keen to work out the most cost-efficient way that he could cover all of the work I wanted done. I have already been recommending him to friends nearby, and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in the Ruislip area!

Ian has carried out multiple jobs for us, including first and second fix electrics, replacing sockets and fitting lights. While doing this he noticed that the main fuse from the external power line was hanging from the wall in the cupboard under the stairs. He immediately informed me how dangerous this could potentially be, & called UK Power to fix this. (Uk Power arrived within 15 minutes of Ian leaving). Ian did work for my parents 20 plus years ago. When it came time to sell the house he had the paperwork stored away. When I wanted to buy a maisonette and the building survey recommended an electrical survey Ian was who I called on. He was very thorough and packed up on things that would not have crossed my mind. Ian did work on a water heater to ensure it was safe and operational. I spent a week trying to find somebody to do this work and was let down several times. Ian moved a couple of electrical points in the house for us. We have recently had a kitchen fitted and he pointed out a number of mistakes made by the electrician which we will be taking up with the fitters. Ian is very knowledgeable, knows his job and is a very pleasant person to do business with.

Having been let down by my original electrician after the 1st fix on a renovation project, and then after reading Ian's reviews, I decided to give him a call. He looked over the job and was extremely pleasant and not pushy at all, he took time to explain everything and even had a contract with cooling off period after verbal agreement to proceed with works. Due to him not being able to see all the original electrical works or how correctly it had been done, Ian worked on a day rate. As I'd never worked with him before obviously I was initially slightly cautious but this was alleviated the first day he turned up on time and worked extremely hard throughout the day, barely stopping at all for a break. He worked at a very good speed whilst being conscientious and neat. Nothing was too much trouble and he was extremely knowledgeable (even pointing out important things other trades had missed with their work). He turned up when he said he would and did a great job, I'm a perfectionist and he did not disappoint! Not only did he provide certification of the work on the day he completed it, I was even able to pay by card on completion to save going to the bank - another small sign at how professional he is. Ian was left in the property multiple occasions with various expensive tools and was completely trustworthy, and to top it all off he's a good guy to be around and really helped me out of a tight spot. Ian tracked down and fixed a problem after power problems at my father's house following a water leak. V reassuring, good advice and quickly resolved, particularly great as my dad is getting on.

I have been using Ian's services over the last 10+ years and have found him to be very customer focused i.e. he will take the time to discuss what I need and offer various options and ideas that I had not thought of. When we have arranged days he can do the work on he has always turned up and done a good job. If my wife had not been on site I would have felt comfortable enough to simply let him get on with it and to ring me or talk to my wife if he had questions. For the more unusual jobs like doing wet joints etc he will tell me whether he has done them before or not i.e. he will not bluff his way through it. He completely rewired my first home and I have had no problems with the work he did. He has recently brought another property upto the latest spec whilst lasing with the UKPowerNetworks company who were rerouting the main feed and moving the meter. Overall from my experience of him I would say he takes pride in doing a good job and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Ian done a create job installing a replacement bathroom ceiling light, gave advice regarding IP Zones, so I bought the right light for replacement. Will use again.

We bought a house that needed a complete renovation. We knew that the electrics were in a mess so we engaged an electrician who only carries out electrical reports to assess the house. He left a long list of required changes and said that the house needed re-wiring and a new fuse box. We asked Ian to give a quote for the re-wire. Ian highlighted the same problems but said that some of the items required by the earlier electrician applied to commercial not domestic properties under current regulations. We thought that seemed encouraging and suggested he had good current knowledge. Ian is also friendly, has a positive attitude, inspires confidence and explains things in an understandable way. He carried out all the work required and according to timetable and was generally helpful and thorough. We discussed where new light fittings, sockets and switches should go and we have found that all his suggestions were good and we now have light switches where they are more useful. Whilst Ian was working on the electrics we also had a plumber who was installing the new bathroom so they had to work together around the electrics. The plumber commented to me (sounding impressed) that ‘Ian does things by the book doesn’t he’. I heard that the plumber later asked Ian to carry out re-wiring at his own house, so I thought that was another vote of confidence. We have since had Ian back for some other electrical work and we will be happy to use him in the future.

Ian not only booked me in at short notice, he was also kind enough to give me an out of usual hours appointment due to my work commitments. Courteous, efficient and reasonably priced, he comes highly recommended in my book.

Ian arrived on time, he is courteous and pleasant to deal with. Nothing is too much trouble. He sorted out a problem that others had failed to diagnose or cure. Very highly recommended.

Ian completely rewired my newly purchased flat, fitted LED spotlights in the hall, bathroom and kitchen, fitted smoke and heat alarms, carbon monoxide alarm, bathroom fan, and electrical work in the newly fitted kitchen and worked well with the heating engineer and kitchen fitter. I wholeheartedly recommend him and he's very pleasant to have around.

I have employed Ian before so, when a smoke alarm problem popped up on Monday afternoon, a quick call to Ian followed by an email with the details sent him dashing into action. Ian viewed the situation, recommended alternatives and, by Wednesday had got all the parts and fixed the problem, all neat and tidy and no mess. He also pointed out some things that were needed to meet current electrical safety regulations and he sorted those as well. Ian explained everything and made sure the equipment instructions were handed over and noted. Fantastic. A top notch trader whom I can heartily recommend every time.

Ian supplied and fitted 3 out of date mains connected smoke alarms for me, fixed 2 outside lights and tidied up my fuse board. He came round when he said he would, went and bought the alarms and came back and finished the job quickly. All without fuss and at a reasonable price. This is the second time I have used Ian and I have confidence in his skill and competence and would not hesitate to use him again and recommend him to others.

Ian helped identify a fault with our electrics that had been caused by some other work that we had carried out by some builders and was causing our system to keep tripping. He was very responsive - came to take a look the same day and then to do the initial trouble-shooting the next day. It took three visits to resolve the issue entirely, but we only managed this thanks to Ian's evident expertise and persistence. He took time to explain what he was doing, which was reassuring and his rates were very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Ian has done a number of jobs in my flat from sorting a dodgy rewire job to changing lights. Every time he has been more than helpful, friendly, punctual and trustworthy. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Ian did a great job at not just rewiring the upstairs of our house but also in testing the recent downstairs "rewiring" done by our previous builder's "electrical" subcontractor. On finding that much of the latter work was unsafe he worked effectively to rectify it, without necessitating major disruption to our new kitchen/dining room and bathroom. We will be using him for future electrical works.

Ian carried out an electrical inspection on my property and rectified the faults. The work was carried out to a high standard and Ian promptly attended the same property at a later date when the gas safe engineer damaged an electrical cable. I will not hesitate to call Ian again when I require the services of an electrician.

John Lewis were unable to connect up my new fridge freezer and dishwasher to the existing spur sockets. Ian came round the same day and connected them up, changing one spur socket to a plug socket. Simple job but done quickly and for a reasonable price.
