I rang Kevin because carers had sometimes experienced problems opening my elderly mother’s front door. He understood my concern and attended the same day, keeping me informed all the time. I expected the barrel or the lock to need replacing but Kevin adjusted the lock and assured me it didn’t need replacing. This is the second time I have called Fort Locks this year. (Different problems). Kevin is very customer focussed. He came out on the same day as calling to realign our back door that would not lock. Kevin was very professional throughout his visit. The problem was fixed (in freezing weather) and we were relieved to not have to barricade the door. Kevin took time to make sure we were happy with the locking mechanism before leaving the site clean and tidy.

Kevin responded very quickly to my request for repairs to our double leaf door. He wasn’t able to repair it as the lock was broken and he was unable to obtain the replacement part immediately (attended on a Bank Holiday!) so ensured the doors were secure before leaving. Kevin returned and replaced the broken part, ensured the mechanism functioned correctly, repositioned the door and checked I could unlock and lock the door. Kevin was very professional, worked at lightning speed (obviously very experienced), had a friendly manner. Very happy with his work, now in my phone book if needed again.

Kevin came to repair a failed lock mechanism at our property at a couple of hours notice. The problem was diagnosed with accuracy over the phone, with the cost of the repair being as quoted beforehand. We found Kevin to be impressionable and most helpful, and we had a good conversation about the fault and the quality of the workmanship! Given the COVID conditions, PPE was worn to carry out the repair and social distancing was exercised at all times. Advice was given covering how to keep the lock mechanism clean and lubricated, as well as advice to keep the door and door surround in a good condition. We were asked to keep Kevin informed if we experienced any problems with the repair. We found Kevin and Fort Locks to be a great Which? trusted discovery in our local area and would have no hesitation in recommending his workmanship.

I needed an easy to use lock on my garden store door, but had no idea of the type of lock or the cost. Kevin arrived within 24 hours of my non-urgent request, quickly assessed what was needed and showed me varying types of suitable locks and prices. Within a very short space of time, the lock was fitted to the door and I was given a demonstration (or two!) on how to operate the lock. I work for a firm of property managing agents in North London. The firm have used Fort Locks for a number of years and, hand on heart, have had no problem at all with the company or Kevin, the Main Man. Nothing is too much trouble for him. All our Property Managers trust him implicitly, he is totally reliable. He offers them advice when he thinks it's necessary and his advice has always been spot on. His costs are also extremely reasonable bearing in mind some of our properties are quite a way outside the M25 boundary. I, personally, had an emergency with my front door lock on a recent Saturday morning, just before I was going away. Such is the trust we hold for Fort Locks and Kevin, I called him and he came over within 20 mins and sorted out the problem. There was no fuss, no lengthy chit-chat, he just got on with the job. He even refused a cuppa ! Definitely to be recommended as a Trusted Trader.

Some of the locks on my wooden patio doors that were fitted last autumn were not working because of the movement of the frames with the changing weather. I spoke to Kevin from Fort Locks on a Sunday regarding being unable to properly lock the front door to my rental property. He came out promptly as advised the next day on the Monday afternoon and fixed the issue without causing any inconvenience to my tenant. Kevin turned up exactly when he said he would. He managed to fish out the bit of broken key saving us from having to get a new lock. He was then able to make two new keys from the broken key that actually worked better than the original key. He made absolutely no mess. I was also impressed by the fact that he was able to produce a bill electronically and enable me to pay by credit card, He also made it very clear what his rate was beforehand. If my husband every breaks another key leaving half of it in the lock I wouldn't hesitate to call Kevin. I would recommend this company.

After a couple of stressful days the icing on the cake was shutting the door and realising the keys were on the kitchen side. I picked up the phone in a slight crazed state, Kevin told me to calm down, give him 20 minutes and he would be there; within 10 he was there! Kevin managed to open the door not only to my house but to my heart as well lol. Kevin opened the door without damaging the lock or door. He was friendly, polite and professional, he even fixed the door and now it shuts without having to be kicked! I would have no problem in recommending Kevin of Fort Locks to friends, family, colleagues and customers. Once again thank you very much for being my knight in a shining black van!
