We had Gavin from G H Plumbing & Heating fit a new combi boiler and called him in a total of 3-4 times for various plumbing needs. From the start, he was professional, courteous, and extremely hardworking—he worked non-stop from 8 am until 6 pm during the main installation day. He stuck exactly to the agreed schedule and budget, which gave us great peace of mind. We found Gavin through Which reviews, as we didn’t know a reliable plumber ourselves. His first impression was excellent: tidy, respectful of our home, and very helpful in explaining the work. After his first visit, when we encountered an issue, Gavin proactively called to check how things were going, showing great ongoing communication and genuine care. At one point, a problem arose that couldn’t be fixed immediately because Gavin was going on holiday. However, he talked us through interim steps to manage the issue, which was very reassuring. We used Gavin to remove our old bathroom which was leaking through to downstairs and replace it with new fittings while addressing the leak issues we had. Throughout the whole process he was a pleasure to deal with. He made some very good suggestions and recommendations about what would be best for us and helped us purchase the most suitable products for us. He worked efficiently and to a very high standard ensuing everything was kept clean and tidy as he went along. When we came across any challenge or decisions to make he would always be able to suggest a good solution and the final product is the best bathroom we could ask for. The original quote was produced quickly, the work scheduled at a time to suit me and then delivered on time and in line with the quoted price.

We used GH plumbing to replace our gas boiler and then subsequently to solve a problem with our conservatory radiators (that haven’t worked properly for many years despite many attempts to fix. We have tried many gas engineers / plumbers over the years, from British Gas to the local village one-man-band, and never really been satisfied. And no one had been able to fix the problem with the radiators. GH have been fantastic and addressed many of the usual problems you can often get. He thoughtfully diagnosed the problem and offered solutions. He turned up on time, did high quality work that was fast and reliable, and cleared up the mess afterwards. And followed up afterwards to check all was well. And, was good value for money with no surprises. We genuinely now have a warm kitchen/conservatory for the first time ever since we moved in 14 years ago. So as you would imagine, very happy to recommend.

Gavin is an absolute star. He went out of his way to find us a new boiler quickly as we had been without heating and hot water since before Christmas. He was very punctual both when he came to give us a quote and on the day he fitted the boiler. His invoice was exactly the same price as he had quoted. He fitted the boiler really quickly and efficiently. He was very tidy and took the old boiler away. He was polite and courteous. Our boiler old boiler broke down, and caused a leak through our landing ceiling for the 4th time, and this was going to be it's last. We needed a new boiler and quickly! I called Gavin on Friday afternoon, he came around within an hour to do a survey, sent a quote out that evening, and was able to supply and fit a new Vaillant boiler on the Monday. He was friendly, and worked hard to ensure we had heat and hot water by late afternoon, then cleaned up, and took away any mess. We would highly recommend him

Gavin is a helpful, experienced and knowledgeable plumber. He is kind and considerate and friendly and I feel very confident to have him in my home . He completed the installation in the day although he admitted it had been a challenge and was there within a day when I contacted him to say the controls and thermostat were a problem. Other customers always speak very highly of him.

Having used the Which website to get several quotes from reputable installers, I was not disappointed with my choice. Gavin and his assistant arrived promptly and set about the job in hand with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency. They could not have been more helpful and informative and they worked extremely hard all day. The end result was a job well done and I’m left in no doubt that should I need any further assistance with my boiler, Gavin will be on hand to help me. Just had our old boiler replaced with a new Vaillant one by Gavin at GH Plumbing and Heating and we are very pleased with everything especially the service supplied by Gavin who arrived on time and carried out the installation with the minimum of disruption and mess and I can highly recommend him.

Excellent all round, hugely respectful of your property and space, very professional and courteous, does a great job and cleans up after his work leaving the place spotless. Unbelievable service too:- My central heating boiler started leaking water (badly) on bank holiday Monday. One of my neighbours saw Gavin’s advert in the parish magazine so I rang him. He came out ten minutes later (on a bank holiday!) stopped the leak and made everything safe for me. The problem meant I needed a new boiler and would be without heating or hot water (combi boiler) until it was replaced. Gavin texted me a quote the following morning and said he would move his (very busy) diary around to fit me in the next day if I wanted to go ahead, I asked around locally and everyone I spoke to had glowing reports about Gavin’s work so I went ahead, Just over 48 hours after the original problem I was up and running with a brand new boiler at at very competitive price, Gavin’s work was excellent. He left the place cleaner than it was when he started, he was extremely respectful of my property and personal space the whole time (I was working from home) and he talked me through the whole process explaining everything clearly. I would not hesitate to highly recommend him. I will certainly be using him for all my plumbing and heating needs from now on.

Diagnosed the problem with the central heating and fitted a new pump the next day, fixing the issue just in time for the colder weather! Professional and efficient. Quotation given was the price paid on completion. Would recommend.

Gavin replaced our faulty boiler and installed a new one. He came out the same day I called to quote on the work, sent the quote over the same day, and installed it a couple of days later. Work was completed on time and to budget. Gavin was always courteous, timely and professional. He worked quickly and cleaned up any mess from the installation (you wouldn't know he'd been here). Was very pleased to work with and would do so again.

A first class tradesman, company and service from start to finish - would highly recommend (and I’m a fussy client!). Gavin took my initial call straight away and visited to discuss works very quickly. He is very knowledgeable and only interested in doing a quality job. Recommends high quality / reliable products although remains open minded. Installed nee Vaillant boiler, hot water tank, pump and renewed all pipe work. His quote was reasonable (I wasn’t interested in the cheapest) and fitted in the works, which were extensive, within a short space of time. Gavin was very punctual, works very hard, goes the extra mile to help and did a fantastic job, with great care and attention to detail. Great communication and explained everything. All works were completed with care and attention and for a big job, he gave me a lot of confidence in a great outcome. Everything went to plan and was perfect first time - could not be more pleased. Gavin and his colleague fitted a new boiler for us after ours started playing up. He provided us with a quote very efficiently and was able to come round to do the work just a few days after I initially called up. I explained how I was concerned about covid and he dealt with my worries very considerately, wearing a mask and keeping a good distance so that I felt safe and had no concerns. They worked quickly and efficiently and kept everything nice and tidy. Gavin provided us with helpful advice along the way and came across as an honest and trustworthy tradesman. He charged us a fair price for the work and has said that we can contact him any time if we need any follow up advice. I’m very pleased and I would highly recommend him.

The service Gavin provided was exceptional. Our carbon monoxide alarm late one evening, I contacted Gavin and he came straight out to shut down the appliance and make everything safe. He then prioritised us due to having no heating and quickly and efficiently recommended and sourced a new boiler. Once we decided to proceed with Gavin, he was very responsive in scheduling the install. The installation was professionally completed with a very fast turnaround and minimal disruption to us.

Professional, knowledgeable and very competitive on pricing. When Gavin came to quote it was immediately obvious that he knew his stuff and although he makes recommendations and suggestions based around his preferred products and manufacturers he doesn’t push you in any direction or into a hasty decision.

Absolutely fantastic service and care received from Gavin and Jay. Ours was one of the more complex jobs: removal of old air warming system and installation of central heating as well as unvented cylinder system. Also installation of water softener, instant hot tap, plumbing for American fridge/freezer and plumbing for washing machine and dishwasher. i.e. literally everything that we possibly could have asked Gavin to do! Despite the huge difficulties faced in getting round a very poorly designed house, Gavin thought everything through methodically. He found the 'best' way to do something, not just the 'quickest'. Our house was looked after whilst he carried out all this work and everything was explained in such a careful and easy to follow way. Very trustworthy, so much so that we were able to leave the boys to crack on whilst we left the house with no worries at all. Despite Gavin's costs having gone up due to the lack of materials due to the Covid situation, he honoured his pre-Covid quote which was very reasonable indeed given the quality of his work. Lots of thought went into future proofing solutions so that if we did change the bathroom or kitchen in the future, that plumbing was considered for that also. In essence I could not have asked for a better heating engineer/plumber/all round nice guy and would have no hesitations in recommending Gavin for any sort of plumbing work that you want done to a great standard and with real care and attention.

I rang Gavin when I found that my boiler wasn’t working. He said that he would call round that afternoon to have a look at it. He quickly diagnosed the problem. As it was an intermittent fault he said that he could get the boiler working again, so that I could have hot water, until he could get the necessary part. The next morning he sent a quote by text and said that he could buy and fit the part if I wished. I agreed and he called round that afternoon to complete the work. I was delighted to have the boiler fixed within a day. This is the second time I have used GH Plumbing and Heating Ltd. I am impressed by the service Gavin provides. He is very conscientious and reliable and I would certainly recommend him.

This was the first time that I had used Gavin, having been recommended by a friend. Gavin was extremely responsive - within about half an hour of me messaging him, he arrived at my house. Gavin was efficient and determined - the job took longer than either of us thought but he didn’t cut any corners and didn’t leave until the problem was resolved. Receiving Gavin’s invoice was a pleasant surprise – the invoice amount represented great value for money. Gavin has left a very good impression on me and I will certainly be using him again in the future (and recommending that others do the same).

Having had to call out GH Plumbing in an emergency a few weeks previously, and which was resolved to our great relief, GH was our first port of call for a new tap installation. This was completed promptly with no disruption to the household and very tidily, despite the work being carried out in a very tight space. Impressed with GH's professionalism throughout, practical advice and at the end of it all, a reasonable cost. Have subsequently had further work carried out, which again was done promptly and efficiently. Will be first contact for any future work.

My old Ideal ICOS gas boiler was no longer operational, and Gavin Howell surveyed the job and quoted satisfactorily. He arrived promptly with his assistant on the agreed day, and they worked cleanly and steadily all day, to remove old boiler and install the recommended new Vaillant 424 Ecotec and other associated improvements in rewiring with new digital controllers. They completed the work on time and budget, commissioned the system and proved it to work as intended, and cleared all rubbish from site. All I had to do during the day was to supply strong coffee at chosen intervals. They worked cheerfully and efficiently to a high professional standard, and Gavin gave his assurance that should any problem appear that he would respond quickly to a phone call for aftercare or advice. I recommend him.

Gavin provide a very prompt response to my enquiry through the Vaillant website and visited my house shortly afterwards to discuss the project and provide some professional advice. A very competitive quotation for the boiler installation followed. We arranged another visit to my house to confirm all details and to agree an installation date. The installation was carried out on the date agreed, the removal of the existing boiler and new installation went very smoothly and the heating and hot water system is functioning fine. Overall a very good experience - I would happily recommend this company.

I found Gavin’s number in the local Parish magazine and noticed he lived in the same village as me. I rang him Thursday evening enquiring about a small job involving removal and capping off an old gas fire and replacing a damaged rad valve. Although he was extremely busy he arranged to come round today (Saturday) and have look. When he turned up and saw the job he said he could do it there and then which he did. He did the work swiftly and efficiently and had the necessary bits and pieces on his van to complete the job. He charged a very reasonable price. He is a very friendly guy and would definitely use him again and recommend him, great service.
