Luke and Sam are a great partnership. Had them to sand and finish upstairs floors. Did such a good job, had them back to do downstairs. Then a third time to do a final room. Arrive on time, talked through the details and always open to adjustments / feedback on the fly. They're super tidy, respectful and work fast. Especially appreciate being able to iMessage them with questions, photos etc and they're always responsive. Wouldn't hesitate to have them back.

I found GJP Flooring online after a google search and was impressed with the reviews they'd received. After firing an enquiry over to them via their website I received a prompt reply with some extra questions. Soon after I received another email with some more information and asking for a visit to my house. When Luke came over to the house he answered all my questions and was polite and friendly. It turned out he had done some work next door which we had seen and liked. After initial discussions we decided to split the work into upstairs and downstairs which ended up working out really well. We were pencilled in, I paid a deposit and the work began, all within 3 weeks of my initial enquiry. There were a few problems with our existing floorboards but Luke explained everything to me and was sure to explain extra costs that would be incurred as a result. The work was done in the time agreed and whilst over the initial cost I still feel it was good value for money. The floors look fantastic and I'm really pleased with the work done. I will definitely be using them again when we do the upstairs of the house.

This was my second time using GJP Flooring to restore hardwood floors in tenanted property. In both instances GJP have been great to deal with. Clear, timely communication, accurate quotes, reasonable pricing with work completed efficiently and to a very high standard. On this occasion I was working to a very tight schedule on a difficult refit. Glyn helpfully arranged for his team to work over a weekend to get the job completed. His team arrived on time at 8am and managed to get three costs applied in a day. Can't recommend these guys highly enough.

We have hired GJP Flooring to help us fix an old damaged floor that was always covered by carpets and not well cared for. They processed our case in a very timely manner, sent workers to our place only a week after 1st contact and kept us informed throughout. Marcus and Joe then came and fixed our floor with wood slithers, replaced broken floorboards and made sure everything was as tight as possible. Their communication was very professional and the work of a very high standard, which we were truly relieved by, as we did not know if our floors could be brought back to a good shape. To our surprise, after sanding and varnishing was done, we ended up with a magnificent living room, much better than what we expected. It gives the whole space a new life! We are very grateful to Glyn and his teams for the prompt response, the high quality craftsmanship and the utmost professionalism that they used to handle this job. It seemed an impossible task to return our old parquet walnut flooring to its original glory. There were missing wooden tiles, uneven surfaces and a brass dividing floor runner through the middle of the space. However the results were beyond our expectations. The GJP fitters were polite, hard working with a can do attitude. The care they took and the attention to detailing made the finished floor a triumph.

I highly recommend GJP Flooring. Glyn was immediately impressive by phoning me to discuss my plans and help guide me towards options for the best outcome. His quote was highly competitive but his communication was determinative. The work was undertaken by Luke and Sam and in the run up to the job Luke was in touch with me several times so he could arrange it so the work caused minimal disruption and could fit around children coming home from school early. The finish itself is transformative and he and Sam have achieved a great outcome: far better than we thought could be possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again, or to recommend them to others.

We had very tired original floor boards that brought the look and feel of the property down. I was going to carpet but decided to get quotes to have the floor boards sanded and refurbished. I spoke with Glyn at GJP flooring. I was sold right away, not because he did a sales job on me but because he was polite, professional and I felt I wanted to do business with him. I felt no obligation to accept the quote, it was the highest (not by much) but I felt confident in Glyn. On the day of the work the 2 man team arrived at 8am, they were brilliant, very professional and I am quite amazed at how hard they worked. They finished at 5pm. They did 2 double bedrooms and joining hallway. This included sanding back the horribly painted and stained floors and then 3 coats of varnish. A lot to achieve in 1 day. I cannot begin to express how amazing the floor now is, they guys ensured absolute perfection was achieved and they exceeded our expectations. The place looks unbelievable! It was spotless too because the clean up everything. Just WOW! The price was fair, comparable to high quality carpet to be fitted. However, this is way better. If you are thinking about getting your flooring renovated, dont hesitate. I highly recommend GJP flooring. Thank some much guys, you did an amazing job and we love it. We want you back to do the stairs now :)

We had a terrible experience with GJP Flooring and would strongly recommend avoiding them. We had several issues: A failure to identify a serious woodworm infestation meant that we had to redo their work and pay for additional remedial work to correct their mistakes. They claim their terms and conditions state that the client is responsible for identifying and treating any woodworm before work commences. They do not say this. They have also told us they are not in the business of treating woodworm so have no expertise in this area. Although they may not be experts, it seems reasonable to expect a company that restores wooden floors to be able to identify a serious woodworm infestation and make the customer aware of it. GJP uses sub-contractors. The team that undertook our work asked how much GJP were charging and told us they could offer a much better price for future work if we contacted them directly. This also means the customer service is bad because GJP try to pass responsibility onto their sub-contractor. The quality of workmanship was poor. Rather than replacing damaged boards with long sections of reclaimed boards, they used multiple small offcuts. The sanding and lacquering work was also uneven and badly done. Overall, a very bad experience.

I am very happy with the work done by GJP. Glyn surveyed the floors and the quote provided was clear about what was included and any charges for additional work. Marcus and Joe arrived on time on the scheduled date and did a great job. They were flexible in that they completed the work over three days rather than the two scheduled, due to there being a bit more preparation work to do than expected (loose boards / large gaps etc.). They also repaired a number of holes and large chunks which had been taken out, but are now barely visible. They were responsive, friendly, and flexible when we had to change dates. We needed our Parquet floor sanded after 15 years of hard wear. It was light oak in colour however the previous lacquer Finnish had made it quite yellow in colour. We obtained several quotes, and GJP Floorings was competitive and they had strong reviews and Which endorsement. GJP were easy to deal with, provided samples prior to committing with them. Having agreed dates they turned up on time, cleaned up after both days. The process did not throw up much dust. What impressed me is their attention to detail and the fact that the finish was maintained right up to the edges and behind radiator pipes. We are delighted with our floor, which really does look new.

We had our living room floor of piranha pine boards sanded and sealed with clear satin lacquer. The work was done with efficiency and minimal dust. The finish was excellent. Any scuffs or marks were sanded off and the finished floor looks as new. We were given a date for the work about 6 weeks ahead but then we’re offered a cancellation the week before, which was not convenient for us so we kept to the original date. The person who came to give us the quote was very helpful and answered all our questions. The workers who did the work were efficient and respectful. There were no extra costs above the original quote.

I have used GJP Flooring for two large sand & seal jobs - one an oak landing/bedroom and the other, a large pine studio space. In both cases, a two man team arrived, on time, laden with the highest spec sanding technology coupled with a helpful and friendly attitude. Top quality job. The floor was marked and stained after 20 years of rentals. It now looks absolutely stunning. Marcus called me three times and sent photos by text to check what finish (went back to natural oak from a light stain) and what level of gloss to the lacquer (light satin) I required. He was happy to give his opinion as to what would look best and we were in agreement anyway. He even came back the next day for an hour to put on a final coat of lacquer over and above what I had paid for, as he felt it needed it to look at it's best. 100% recommend GJP Flooring.

On an impossible schedule GLP Flooring transformed our tired beaten-up floor into a thing of real beauty. From reviewing the existing wooden floor & giving us a quote, to completion of the works, GJP was professional and knowledgeable throughout. A few days before the scheduled work, I received a phone call when logistics were confirmed, and I had the opportunity to ask questions. Two very knowledgeable young men arrived, they came understanding the area of work and set to work very quickly, protecting all vulnerable paintings and books, they included me where decisions were required. They made no fuss about having to shift a large antique cupboard in order to sand underneath. All the work was carried out to perfection, the slivers, the difficult edges, the steps, the restorations, new floorboards, sanding, buffing, varnishing I could not be happier, it was worth every penny. Our sitting room floor has been transformed! Following a site visit with Glyn, the two guys did a very professional job sanding the floor. I had a courtesy phone call the evening before just to check everything was ok and then they turned up on time (a little early actually) on the day. Our bookcases were covered in plastic sheeting but in fact there was very little dust. Nice polite guys, would highly recommend.

GJP sanded and finished with commercial grade varnish our very tired engineered oak flooring in the lounge, hall, kitchen and study. They also cut two matt wells into the existing floor. The result literally looks better than new and we are very pleased with all aspects of the work. The whole service from initial enquiry to finished work was seamless. The work took a couple of days and we were kept well informed of arrangements throughout, the dust was minimal and the team doing the work were a pleasure to have in the house. The standard of workmanship is high and overall we would highly recommend GJP.

This was a "sanding plus plus" job on my flat's original floorboards, which have had little or no TLC since the 1840s. The two workers, Ned and Lazlo, had to move a lot of the boards around in the kitchen to get them looking properly spaced, and re-lay a lot of other planks which were not sitting right. The pros and cons of the two methods of filling the gaps were clearly explained (I went for the more expensive tapered wood strips). Only after all that had been done could the sanding begin. Overall it was an excellent job, very good value - and done in two days, which was very important as there was only a short interval between the old kitchen being cleared out and the new one coming.

The work required was to sand old finger parquet, and varnish in our hall, lounge and dining area – a total of 52 sq. metres. It was commenced on schedule with the start date adhered to. The two men, Luke and Paul, were professional, helpful, and friendly, and made us feel at ease with the work about to be done. What went wrong! We left them to work on the first day, to be called back after 30 minutes with “a problem”. We returned to find the sander had shaken loose a large area of finger parquet – the bitumen below had dried out over many years. We were given options, and elected for them to repair the floor by glueing the displaced finger parquet: there was a lot, and we considered it a very hard task, but they willingly took it on, which impressed us. We were quoted a price for this additional work, and we gave the go-ahead. The price quoted was above what we finally paid, so overall we were delighted. The top non-slip matt varnish is excellent and requires no polishing – just a light brush with a broom to clean. During the work ongoing communication was excellent, and we were always informed of progress and the expected finish date, which turned out to be a day earlier than quoted: an even bigger bonus. We fully recommend GJP Flooring as a company of high excellence. Well done!

Sanded 1930's pine floorboards worn out previous dark stain. Sanded sample area so that I could choose a new colour. Then left them to the job. No mess, very tidy. Only gripe, I had to clear away the rubbish bags afterwards, although I did understand this before the job. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the end result. Would recommend them.

I used GJP Flooring to bring back to life our gymnasium floor on our lower site a couple of years ago and they done such a wonderful job I decided to use them again this year to sand and lacquer our school gymnasium at the upper site. they have done a wonderful job and the PE department are over the moon with the outcome.

Used this company to restore the wood flooring in my new house and was delighted with their work and it exceeded my expectations. They did it in a very quick turn around, to a very high standard so couldn't really ask for more.
