Heating system replacement and upgrade

The team at HEH have recently completed a large piece of work for us which involved replacing a boiler (in the loft), running a new gas pipe, replacing an underfloor heating manifold, and adding two Google Nest thermostats to control the whole setup. I would not hesitate to recommend HEH to someone for work of this scale, or, at the other end of the scale a boiler service. In summary, the service and resulting work from start to finish was superb. Our boiler was on its last legs and needed to be replaced, as did other components of our overall heating system, which was not configured in the most optimal way. Right from the initial discussions and site visits it was clear HEH understood our requirements, timescales, and dependencies. The required work was explained to us in detail, and options were given for how we could accomplish our goals. All the engineers involved in our job worked thoroughly, fast and tidily, whilst being super friendly to engage with. When the job was completed everything which had been done was explained to us in detail, which included guidance on how best to configure our new dual Nest thermostats too. We have used HEH before and very much hope to do so in the future.

Poor customer service and substandard installation

We had our boiler installed 07/19 since then we have had issues with the pressure dropping, pressure lever not working and pipes underneath boiler leaking which have turned green. We never had any of these issues with our old boiler. I emailed HEH who sent an engineer (who I believe is the director/manager) out to tighten the bolts previously. (What is shocking is that he didn’t replace anything knowing it was a newly installed boiler by themselves and seeing the pipes have turned green so quickly surely must raise a question regarding the installation) On 24/03/2022 I was told I would be charged for an engineer to come out and fix the problem. I refused to pay. You want to charge me for a fault purely due to the boiler not being fitted properly. This has been an ongoing issue since it has been installed which you have been made aware of by myself via email. I have reported the company to GasSafe regarding the ongoing issues and concerns of the work carried out. I have attached photos to my google review for reference.

Good Morning Further to your recent review, we are sorry that on this occasion you feel that HEH have not met your expectations. On all installation works we cover at least a two- year parts and labour warranty guarantee. Subject to annual boiler services; to which you chose us to complete in 2020, 2021 and further additional works on the shower. On 24th March 2022, I personally spoke with you; as a valued customer I explained that an engineer can attend but should the works not be connected to our previous works; this will incur a small chargeable call out fee. As a company we like to be transparent with our customers. HEH Ltd I highly recommend this company they took out our old system replaced it with a completely new system, removed all old materials from site. The two guys who turned up to carry out the work Mick and Danny were second to none. Working continuously throughout the day also taking all the stress away from us both.,can't thank them enough. Very pleased with the efficiency of H.E.H, both the office staff, who were very helpful on contact and subsequently and obviously Danny who fitted the equipment. It was done according to schedule, with no problems and was a very good price. A follow-up email was a pleasant touch as Danny had said on departure any problems you have our contact numbers.

I was very impressed with the work that was carried out by this company. It was an unusual task of removing old gas light piping which was still visible in the ceiling in multiple places and involved laying new pipework to the boiler and meter in the kitchen. When Danny came to give a quote, he went through various options describing the pros and cons of each and allowed me to make a choice. He explained about potential problems relaying laminate flooring and with old plaster in the ceiling so I could make an informed choice. They came on the date and time arranged. They took care lifting the flooring and were able to replace it intact. They made minimal holes removing old pipework and plugged them and then cleared up all the mess including wiping the kitchen floor. They were polite, professional, and friendly and the price was good value for the work done. I will definitely use them again when I needed something else doing.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Replaced and re-sighted my 20 year old Glowworm boiler with a condenser boiler, German of course! New programmer, room thermostat, TVRs to bedroom radiators, new valves in airing cupboard and system flush. Work completed in two days, whole job from first contact to completion five days. I have used this company three times now for various jobs and HEH will always be my first port of call.

Efficient Professional Service

Our conventional boiler, after a long illness, finally died. We were left with no heating. I phoned HEH at 2.00pm, by 4.30pm on the same day we had been visited by the owner of the firm who gave us some sensible advice and a clear estimate. By good fortune a cancellation allowed us to have the new boiler fitted the next day. The technicians arrived as promised at 8.00am and the job was completed by 3.50pm, new boiler, pump, controls and alterations to the pipework, all done in a quick and efficient way to a high standard, and the cost was very competitive. Highly recommended.

We chose HEH to replace and move our Combi Gas Boiler following a competitive quote from Danny who clearly knew his business and inspired confidence. The work was carried out with pride and care by Mike and his assistant and they went out of their way to accommodate our requirements. They were polite, courteous, neat and tidy and caused minimum disruption. On completion, Mike gave us a very clear and comprehensive explanation of the controls and explained the various documentation and answered any questions we had. Even the Warranty registration was handled for us by the firm so we had nothing to do and we are very satisfied and have no hesitation in recommending this firm.

Massively Letdown
On 23/09/20 I contacted HEH to book a boiler service. I wanted a service in October at the start of winter but was told they were very busy and the earliest appointment was 05/11/20. Having used them previously, I agreed to wait. They called the morning of the day before to confirm and then the evening of the same day...oh they are very sorry but they have to cancel as a previous job overran. I said but I've waited well over a month for this service and I assumed they'll fit me in soon... Oh no says the lady, she's not sure but she'll definitely call me back the next day and "see what they can do" Well needless to say I'm still waiting. After a few days I called around and was only able to get a service on 08/12 from another company. It's completely thrown out my annual service routine. Really let down and do not recommend lest this happen to you.

In these unprecedented times:- Following Government Guidelines during this corona virus pandemic, routine maintenance was originally not being carried out during the summer months; hence the November service appointment date. It is always a priority to ensure customers' have sufficient heating and hot water. Therefore when an installation over-ran the appointment was to be rearranged. Please understand that we try to be transparent, generally our independent reviews are of such a high standard. As a team we work hard to ensure customer and job satisfaction. We of course would have contacted you to re-arrange but you have chosen to reschedule with another company. Excellent services from HEH

HEH replied promptly to my request for a quote/site visit via Worcester website (as an approved installer). We needed to replace an old system boiler & radiators. Danny recommended we change to a combi boiler and explained the pros & cons of each type of system. He was happy to come back for a 2nd site visit while we decided on which option to go with. All rooms were measured for correct sizing of radiators. The quote was very clear with the scope of work broken down with everything we had discussed included. I found the customer service & communication excellent when dealing with head office. Danny & his team arrived early on the agreed install date and the work was complete in only two days. There was a problem with an existing hot water pipe which was leaking in our old kitchen floor screed at the end of the first day (no fault of HEH). Danny came over that night to investigate and turn off the water. The next morning the leak was found, pipe replaced, floor repaired and the additional costs were reasonable. At completion our new heating controls, smart thermostat & App were explained and we received our Gas Safe certificate within a week. Overall I would definitely recommend HEH.
