Since 1928 Hadley & Ottaway has been a household name for removals, and in particular removals in Norwich. With 90 years experience, carrying out careful shipping, removals and storage services for some of the most discerning clients. No job is too big or too small for our team of expert removals staff.
At Hadley & Ottaway, everyone cares about your move. Many of the removals and office staff have been with the company for years and really understand just how important it is for removal companies to make sure that everything goes smoothly with your relocation. Our experience means that we can make moving home or office as seamless as possible, relieving you of any stress or worry during the moving period.
Our head office is based in the East Anglia region - this is the centre of operations as there is a dedicated training room, where new recruits and 'old hands' learn to pack delicate porcelain, barometers, grandfather clocks and pianos.

The team at Hadley and Ottoway delivered outstanding service from beginning to end of my house move. They were in constant communication with me and the process was simple and smooth from first booking the move date, to the consultant coming to give a quotation, through to the house move day. On move out day, the team were professional, polite, friendly and communicative throughout, in fact they were joy to have with us all day! After the move I received an email to make sure the move had taken place well and all was fine. I would definitely recommend Hadley and Ottoway to anyone moving house.

We used Hadley and Ottaway for 5 months storage and then removal out of county. They were very polite, highly efficient and the removal men were extremely helpful. They were a really reasonable price for the work they did. The were great with the dog and the children. Very hard working firm. Highly recommend.

The team of Jordan, Lee, Stephen and Logan accomplished our house move with complete professionalism and efficiency. From the start, Hadley & Ottaway offered a caring and considerate approach to the task in hand, they were polite and considerate explaining all the details we needed to know for the move and specific advice on packing. A Hassle Free Move
Hadley & Ottaway helped us move house in early January 2026, we had used them previously so our expectation levels were high. They did not disappoint. From the girls we spoke to in the office to thier estimator as well as all the removal guys, each and every one provided us with an excellent service, they worked well as a team and really could not be faulted. They may not be the cheapest but if you are moving to or from East Anglia we would certainly reccomend them!

From beginning to end, they provided a first class service. They could not have been more helpful. The office staff understood our requirements and the men with the truck were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The was absolutely no damage to any items and our enormous mirror wardrobe was expertly dismantled and perfectly reassembled - now better than ever. At every stage they offered more help than we needed and the whole process was really made quite easy. We could not praise them more....

The crew were polite and efficient and took great care wrapping fragile items and crating paintings. Unloading was completed in a day and they then delivered our upright piano to our daughter who lives 5 miles away from our new home. Everything was done according to the quotation and it made our move - the first since July 1978! - as stress-free as possible. Thanks.

Hadley & Ottaway carried out two removals for us from the same property. The first was on July 15th followed by 28th November 2024. On both occasions, they arrived on time & took care to protect our carpets & flooring before starting any removals. Throughout both collections & drops the staff were very helpful & were happy to assist with every request we made even when we arrived at our destination & changed our minds on more than one occasion as to where things should go. Before they left again on both occasions, they cleared all the packaging we had unloaded & made sure that nothing else needed shifting whilst they were with us. The entire process from booking the original site visit for a quotation through to all the interaction we had with their office & removal team was simply brilliant. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a stress free company to work with.

Very professional estimate and quotation very thorough review of new property. On the day 2 removers arrived promptly and worked extremely hard and efficiently with good humour. Next day (after driving over 200 miles) they were at the new property before 7am and again worked tirelessly unloading up 4 flights of stairs. An extremely good job. I would recommend them highly.
