Super quick service from initial conversation regarding broken key in lock, Nick the locksmith turned up within 20 mins and resolved the issue. Then again, very efficient service when replacing the worn lock a couple of days later. He had a sensitive, calm manner when in the house with my elderly mum, ensuring she could turn the lock, even coming back to the house to reassure her. Also had a great experience with Elizabeth in the office who kept me informed of timing and feedback so I could again reassure mum. Just an overall pleasure to have this firm, the work was excellent and the people could not have provided a better, more sensitive and competent service.

With Mercedes Benz now not able or willing to code Smart car keys (for older cars at least) I went to Harford's. What a great experience! The extra key was programmed in about 5 minutes and cost about 1/5th of the MB price. Absolutely great service. 12 out of 10 !!!

I had an issue with my house alarm going off all the time for no apparent reason. We did not have the alarm installed; it was inherited when we bought the house and we had no instructions. I contacted Harfords to see if they could talk me through how to turn off the alarm. I got a call back the next day and an engineer came out that morning and sorted out the issue straight away What great customer service, especially considering I wasn't even the customer who had the alarm installed. After consulting with and being informed by a national key company (via my car insurance - Saga) that my car key could not be replaced/ cut (even though I had a blank), I contacted Harfords in Dewsbury. The key blank (theirs - yes they had them in stock) was cut and the job checked to completion within five minutes. (My insurers had taken more then 48 hours to inform me they couldn’t do it). The front of house workshop is impressive, with lots of high end digital and manual key cutting machines, all the work being completed in front of me. The staff of the place were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The price charged an absolute bargain & I cannot recommend this company enough. While I was in the shop I witnessed two other customers who were equally impressed, their key woes being addressed/ sorted - again for very agreeable/ affordable prices. I’ve added this company to my ‘go to’ in respect of car keys and will be calling them if any of my house locks or the security system needs sorting. I wholly recommend Harfords - 10/10 on all counts.

I needed a new door lock urgently. Harford’s Security were brilliant. Despite being busy they went out of their way to fit in my request and came out that afternoon. First class service. I could not recommend them highly enough.

Contacted Hartford Security, as my key was jammed in the door lock. Spoke to Mike who arranged to call the next day. He found that something was caught in the mechanism, he left (leaving the door secure) and returned the next day with a new lock and mechanism. I would have no hesitation in recommending/using Hartford Security in the future

Friendly, professional, quick and conscientious... four-point locking front door that closed but wouldn't lock. He immediately understood the problem and acknowledged when I asked, that it wasn't a simple 2-second fix. Having completed the repair, he then sensitively (ensuring understanding without patronising) explained what he'd done and how... so that I could make adjustments if needed in the future. Amazing, and the door closed more smoothly than I ever remember, even when new. Would recommend absolutely to anyone.

Our 6 month old lock failed in our aluminium door and when the original installers could not help Harfords Security stepped in and sorted it out with a friendly quick service and at a very reasonable price. Nicholas who came out was on time, polite and friendly and took time to explain our lock and door system. He even went to the trouble of checking the door alignment even though he had not supplied it. We 1st used Harfords security 30 years ago and it is gratifying to know that they are still a well run local firm providing a superb service. Very highly recommended. I chose Harfords because they are local and have been around for many years. I called them in after I lost a bunch of keys and needed 2 new locks and keys for 2 others. The engineer (Mick) arrived early and completed the work quickly and efficiently at a very reasonable cost, which we had been advised of in advance. I would happily recommend Harfords to others.

We asked for quotes on 3 locksmith jobs, a lock on the front door, a faulty porch door and an upstairs window. We expected to be sold at least 2 new and probably expensive locks. The locksmith arrived promptly. He serviced and repaired the front door lock, saving us a lot of money. He offered to repair the porch lock but we decided to replace the lock for something stronger; he gave us all the options and put us under no pressure about what to choose. He offered to check our other locks and serviced them as well. He also showed us how to carry out this maintenance work ourselves in the future. He examined the window lock and advised we called out "a window man" as the glass needed to be removed to effect a repair. He could do this but a "window man" would be quicker. As the window is not a security hazard, we took his advice. At the end the cost was extremely reasonable. He was friendly, very helpful and cleared up after himself. Highly Recommended.

We wanted advice on extra security for an existing patio door. We thought we knew what we wanted, but we were guided to a better, cleaner and more secure solution. In addition, we were advised on a potential upgrade for another door. All the work was carried out efficiently and we are happy to recommend this customer-focused, long-established firm. Following items fitted 3 years ago by another company and worked reliably until earlier this year: ERA nightlatch, Comelit Video Door Entry System, electrical latch release operated remotely from 4 flats, Paxton Fob facility. Problems started about 6 months ago and various botched attempts (including by another locksmith) since then made matters worse. Mick demonstrated all the hallmarks of a competent professional: turned up on time, knowledgeable, experienced, listened to and understood the customer, methodical, thorough, resourceful - and all this at a reasonable cost. Result was completely satisfactory.
