Matt installed our air source heat pump 2 years ago. He was professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. The service he recently carried out was the same. He is extremely tidy. Highly recommended.

The old gas boiler here was not compliant with current regulations. Matt is very knowledgeable and went through all of the possible choices to upgrade the heating system. The work in this old house was challenging but the team were friendly and considerate, completed the work on time and cleaned up. Matt came to investigate why our central heating was not operating although we had hot water. He identified the cause as a faulty thermostat and also noted that the pump had been leaking. He quoted a price for a new pump and thermostat installation which I accepted and advised that the office would advise me when they could send an engineer to carry out the work. He also isolated the wall thermostat so that we had heating until the work could be completed. We received a phone call the following day to confirm a date. The engineer arrived on time on the date specified and carried out the work as agreed. Very impressed with the service and the way the engineer carried out the work efficiently and cleanly. From the first contact to the last, I have to say I’ve been really impressed with Matt and his team, we finally got into the modern ages and had gas central heating installed after 17years of warm air heating. Matt came around to look at the job and was really informative, offering a few different options and being thoughtful as to where the pipe work could go so not to disrupt the house too much and also make it look aesthetically pleasing. Sam was with us most of the week and I have to say how polite and courteous he was and how neat and tidy his work was as well, along with help from John, Charlie and Matt throughout the week, the installation went so well, each day they explained what they would be doing where they would be working in the house and what they had done. Matt , came and quoted for a replacement boiler and was extremely professional and clearly very experienced and knowledgeable - He made some great suggestions to make the system run better and we agreed a quote which he worked to and came in exactly on . He did a great job , he was tidy , didn't really stop work , was happy to be left alone to work in the house and finished on time . he cleared up after him and tested the system . He explained all the warranty stuff and other paperwork and explained what to do if i have a fault in future . All in all top drawer service - and would highly recommend

Matt came assessed the situation tried to get spare parts and technical information to no avail so we decided to go with a new system. When my shower started running cold (while I was in it) I swore and checked out the boiler to find a trickle of water leaking from beneath it. Matt's guy came out the following morning and quickly found a corroded pipe that had leaked over the electrics, shutting everything down. Here's the good bit. He needed to find a supplier who stocked the right circuit board. Off he went and I thought 'that's the last I'll see of him for a week'. Two hours later he was back, with the part, which he fitted with no fuss. Just brilliant.

Matt organized and explained clearly what needs to be done with my boiler Chimney, Fume extension. Happy with the communication and the service.

Matt replaced an oil boiler and radiators with an air source heat pump and new rads. He explained the process very patiently, and was probably one of the cleanest work person we've ever had. Although there was a problem (not of his making), Matt went out of his way to sort it. Very pleased with the result, as the house is considerably warmer. My Halstead boiler had finally failed after nearly 20 years of faithful service, leaving me without hot water or heating during an icy week in January. It turns out that the condensation pipe had been leaking internally for the last six years! So as I am not well versed in the modern world of boilers, I turned to the internet. I found the Boiler Guide (Boiler Hunt) website, which in turn was able to put me in contact with three local heating installers after having first tried to interest me in nationwide boiler installers. I quickly rejected the nationwide installer option and opted for three local installers. The first candidate was very inexperienced and so quickly rejected. The third candidate was County Plumbers Ltd of Brighton, who came armed with the latest trade magazine and, in less than 10 minutes, outlined what I required whilst showing me the trade prices as they went along. They were brilliant, but they had responded so late to the request put out on Boiler Guide that I had already 90% agreed to use Hartswood Heating LTD by that time. The prices on the two quotations were roughly the same! In the end, I chose the second candidate who was Hartswood Heating LTD. Sean was on-site for three days in all. Sean spent the first day changing the pipework to fit the new Vaillant Ecofit Pure 35KW combi boiler with a 10yr guarantee. Second day on set up and testing. Third day on some other plumbing jobs around my house.

Replaced central heating pump after diagnosing this was the fault. Worked late despite family commitments. Further diagnosed faulty timer and another team member attended to replace this when the part was available. They also advised on a problem with a pressure release valve in the loft and attended subsequently to replace this. All done cheerfully and politely, communicating well with consideration to household.

The team have done several plumbing jobs for us. Each and every time they are professional, friendly and efficient. We can't recommend them enough!

We used Hartswood Heating to renew our old 18 year boiler for a Vaillant eco boiler and move the flue in the loft as no longer conforms to new regulations all the work was done in a day Sam and the roof part by Matt very efficient very clean a great job and explained how the new timer and the controls on the boiler would definitely recommend and use them again. Our central heating boiler failed and needed replacing. We contacted several recommended heating engineers and right from the first telephone conversation we found Matt to be most helpful. We were pleased that Hartswood Heating could install a replacement within a week and at a reasonable and competitive price. Matt and Sam did a great job, working non-stop to complete the installation within the day. They were well-prepared, careful in their work and pleasant to have in the house. Matthew was very good to work with. We moved into a house with a unconventional heating system, with a heat exchange where we were not sure what function it had. Matthew went out of his way to contact the manufacture and understand what the best approach would be to make the most of this system. He also installed a Google Nest and spent time talking to us about what we wanted from this and how to get the most from it. Matthew provided a well set out and detailed quote. It was accurate to the final bill. I also had a couple of quotes for the job and Matthew was reasonably priced and transparent. Will definitely use him again!

Matthew replaced my boiler and put in an unvented hot water cylinder. He was professional, pleasant, efficient and explained things clearly. There were some issues like a part not working, unexpected leaks, but as Matthew dealt with them efficiently and promptly they weren’t really issues. I am delighted with the new boiler and the unvented system which has resulted in a warmer house with better water pressure throughout. Communication was great and I was kept well informed. When the invoice came there was a discount due to some unused parts. Matt’s honesty is so refreshing in this day and age. I will not hesitate to recommend Hartswood Heating.

Third time using Hartswood Heating. It was a little tricky to get hold of Matt where he was really busy, but once I did he committed to a date and one of his guys, Ryan, arrived in time. He fixed the issue with our fluctuating water temperature, was polite and professional. An hour after he left we realised the heating wasn’t working, I called Matt and he came personally to sort the issue (which took only a few minutes where some taps had been left off) so I was happy he resolved the small mishap. Had to call them back a third time as we then noticed a leak, and they replaced a washer. I had boiler issues which left me with no heating or hot water over new year. I called Hartswood Heating for a new boiler and I have to say the service was exceptional from start to finish. They came out straight away and gave me some different options to consider and within days the new boiler was installed. Matt installed, and has been looking after my plumbing for a couple of years. The installation was part of a complete refurb and set a few technical challenges. Hartswood were recommended by our electrician and we had the pleasure of working with Matt and Sam just before lockdown. They helped design and then installed a new central heating system in our 16th century Grade 2 listed thatched cottage, which was not a straightforward task. They have done an excellent job, reducing our heating bills considerably, and we are contracting them to install an underfloor heating system in other parts of the house. Matt and Sam were punctual, polite and thoughtful and had an affinity with our ancient building which we are lovingly renovating. They treated us and the house with respect, despite it being difficult at times to work in, and in very wet weather. They never complained or appeared frustrated and Matt as senior partner stayed late when needed to make sure the stages were completed and we could be comfortable. They took an interest in the house, and were cheerful and good humoured. We thoroughly recommend them and are glad to work with them again.

Matt was very attentive and professional. We required a boiler and after getting a couple of quotes and them saying it would take 2 days to complete. Matt believed he could do it in 1. We went with Matt as we need hot water especially in this current climate and Matt completed it within the predicted day. We needed some pipes replacing and Matt explained the options (look, price etc.) and gave us on how we can have it rather than doing it however he wanted. We have a tradesman who lives next door to us and he was very impressed on how tidy Matt had done the piping outside. With the current climate, social distancing is vital and Matt made sure that he was cautious with this. Hartswood Heating are simply the best. I had problems with my central heating for many years. Hartswood Heating fitted a new boiler and did a lot of work to flush out the radiators and clean up the system. The house has never been warmer. In addition I can work the new system with an Ap. They are good communicators, available by text and unbelievably good value for money.

I like to think my recommendation means something because I am not one to heap praise on tradespeople but this firm are truly exceptionally good. The initial visit was speedy and thorough with an efficiency clearly steeped in knowledge.The quote followed quickly and was clear and included a proposed window for the work to be done soon.There was very good communication thereafter until the work began.They arrived early on all 3 days and got on quickly with no fuss - apart from the necessary drilling you would not know they were in and around the house.Matt and Sam were very polite and the former patiently answered all my questions in detail without jargon. When he came to assess the work for the installation of a new boiler Matt was extremely professional, put you at your ease and explained, very clearly, a way through any potential problems and how he would solve them. Mathew converted our gravity fed heating system to a pressurised, combi boiler, system. Mathew and his colleague were fast, efficient and friendly. The house was left spotless and the old system, pipes and rads were all taken away. We have now asked Mathew to install our new fireplace and bathroom plumbing. After being recommended, we asked Matt from Hartswood to replace our entire heating & hot water system including the boiler, all pipework & radiators in a recently purchased house. This would include relocating radiators in different places in most rooms as well as moving the boiler, pressurised tank and controls into the loft. The house is old and has been unloved for a long time and there was a legacy of strange old pipework and other challenges. From the initial meeting with Matt we received a very detailed quotation along with a timeline of the works breaking down exactly what would happen and when. We were also given detailed explanations of how the system would work and be controlled. We agreed a date to start and Matt & his colleague duly arrived at 8.00am on that day as promised. The works were completed on-time, including a few extras we had asked for. During the time the work was being carried out Matt kept us fully informed of progress, kept the house (which was also under going re-wiring at the same time!) as tidy and as safe as possible. There were no accidents or incidents or problems. Timekeeping was impeccable as was the quality of the workmanship that was carried out. The heating & hot water system Having carried out a number of renovations / modernisations over the years, I can honestly say that Matt has delivered to the highest standard & with the greatest efficiency I have ever experienced. I cannot recommend Hartswood Heating high enough!

Given short notice, a limited budget and a confined space, Hartswood Heating carried out all the work to a very high standard. All the work - which included new fittings and pipes - came in absolutely on budget. As well as the exceptional quality of the work, Matt was also an excellent communicator, keeping us informed throughout and providing a very helpful tutorial in how to work and maintain the combiboiler.
