Gareth Jones established HeatGlow in 2014 after 10 years’ experience working in the heating and plumbing trade.

Have had boiler serviced with them for several years. They attended to fix a part on the boiler this week, quoted a price and fixed it the same day. Good service. However, when asked for an invoice detailing parts and labour cost, which we need for any potential insurance claim, they refused. Apparently, company policy just to put 'repair boiler and replace fan' and a grand total. Nothing else. As a result, it's not clear to us whether the 10% discount for being a "Heatshield" member has been included. Nor whether the free call out we should have been entitled to has been taken off the total either. First time I've ever come across a refusal to detail an invoice for parts and labour. Despite several emails politely requesting the above, still no joy. Shame as the company has always been very good. Strange not to show full transparency on costs, especially when they're plumbing work has been so good. We didn't dispute the bill, we just wanted a simple two item breakdown on an invoice. We are now unable to judge whether the service good value or not. Really disappointed. To be clear, I would recommend their work, but would strongly suggest others ask for a quote with a breakdown of costs in writing ahead of agreeing to any work, in order to judge if it is good value for money.

You are correct that we do not provide a breakdown of our costs, we insist on giving an upfront and honest quote, giving our customers full control on whether to proceed or not with no hidden fees. We do accept that the discount wasn’t listed on the invoice and this is something we will do moving forward, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are required by law to replace boiler parts with genuine parts. We understand that consumers may not be aware of this and will endeavour to note this on future invoices. As a HeatShield member, a call-out charge didn’t apply. Waived call-out fees are listed as one of the many benefits of becoming a member. We apologise for the lack of clarity, we assumed you were aware of this as the box was ticked to say the terms and conditions had been read and understood when signing up. Please rest assured that we have provided great value for money, by getting your boiler repaired quickly and efficiently at short notice. We do hope you continue to use our services in the future. Our heating system (installed 37 years ago) had died. We looked on Which Trusted Traders website for a local company and HeatGlow were exemplary. The initial survey by Gareth showed what needed to be replaced (i.e. everything apart from the radiators and pipework which they were able to save with some TLC and a flush through). They turned up as promised and installed a new Worcester Bosch boiler, replaced the hot-water cylinder and installed a header tank plus the flush through in 4 days and charged exactly as per their quotation. All of their people were very polite, considerate and tidied up afterwards. Strongly recommended.

Returned from holiday on a Friday to find our 14-year-old gas boiler in its death throes. By Sunday it was no more! Contact via email that night and they managed to fit us in due to a cancelled appointment the next day. Very thorough in the diagnosis of the problem (broken valve). Part ordered and fitted 48 hours later. The boiler is back to full function and with a new PCB board and electrodes 2 years ago should run for a while yet. Hopefully! Very happy with the service and professionalism. No mess or damage to the surrounding kitchen, unlike the previous gas-fitter. I will be returning to them for my gas and plumbing needs.

Contacted the firm Monday afternoon. Jack arrived the following morning at agreed time. The issue was the pressure in the boiler which was erratic and various issues had to be ruled out. Also it’d been leaking water which Welsh Water weren’t too happy about. Jack was helpful in that score as well checking throughout the house for leaks and stabilising the boiler. This is a small but customer focussed company with a great ethos. Thank you folks.

I usually have my boiler serviced by the company who installed it (back in 2007). However, due to Covid, they were unavailable and so, I looked up Trusted Traders reviews. It was so easy to book an appointment online (which was within a few days) and received several communications with confirmation and updates as to the appointment. They arrived on time, were polite, took off their shoes ( wasn’t necessary, but noted and appreciated). I informed them of ongoing issues (losing pressure frequently and a little leak from bathroom towel radiator). No leak since and pressure issue is looking good. Thank you Heatglow - you’ve got it nailed in my view!!! It’s left me with conflicting feelings. I still trust the original company, but I am impressed and very happy with Heatglow’s service from beginning to end..... whilst I don’t have a ‘relationship’ with them (I know them/they know me type of thing), I am converted!!

I found HeatGlow on the Which trusted traders site. Booked a boiler service via their web site - it was very straightforward and I was able to book a time and date for the visit. The price was even less than what I had paid 3 years previously with another firm. From then on I received both emails and messages with my invoice and confirmation of date/time including the name of 5he engineer carrying out the work. Everything completed on time and certificate issued electronically. Every aspect of dealing with HeatGlow was excellent and I would certainly use and recommend to everyone.

Heatglow installed a new Worcester Bosch boiler, replaced two radiators and fitted a new electric shower in one day as promised. They gave me good advice when then visited to quote for the work and provided a competitive price. They were helpful, friendly and easy to deal with. I will definitely use them again.

Excellent service. I had 2 radiators changed. I bought my own radiators and valves and Heatglow had them changed. Very efficient, quick, left all clean and did a very good job. Really well done. Booking was easy via email and price competitive.

The guys responded to an urgent request promptly and scheduled in the work whilst agreeing to honour a much earlier quote. On the day, they worked professionally, demonstrating excellent social distancing disciplines. They communicated well throughout. Given that carpets and floorboards were lifted you would not have noticed if you hadn't seen it due to their commitment to putting everything back in its place and cleaning up after themselves. The new boiler was fitted with the minimum of fuss despite having to work around the challenges of an old house. We will certainly use their services again and have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

I have used Gareth and Tom for a number of years and have recommended them to numerous friends and Neighbours. They are very responsive, punctual and extremely polite. Their annual service is very thorough and much better than the very large national company we used to use. All work is explained and carried out as per explanation. They are very clean and tidy and one they leave the property you do not know they have been there. Am excellent example of a Local business serving the local community and with the added benefit of being Welsh speaking.
