Found Jim on this site. Spoke to him at 9:30 am on a Monday. Finished job he was doing 20 minutes away at 3:50 pm and was here 20 minutes later. Fixed two leaking toilets including going off to get a part . Couldn’t have been more efficient, helpful and accommodating. As he was about to leave I mentioned a tap that had stopped working, expecting him to have a quick look and arrange to come back later in the week - got his tools back out of the van and fixed it there and then even though it was tea time! Fantastic !

Jim installed a new heating system for me seven years ago and has serviced it each year since. I recently contacted Jim on a Saturday because I had a flood in my kitchen. He came out and worked for several hours locating the leak and replacing the pipes. This included dismantling part of the kitchen. He left at 10pm. We agreed to let everything dry out before everything was restored. When he came again he put back the panels and the kitchen equipment. Throughout the whole process Jim acted very professionally, he kept me involved with all the decisions that needed to be made and kept the area as clean and dry as possible. I can't thank Jim enough for all his hard work and the care with which he worked and the cleaning up afterwards. I would recommend Jim to anyone who likes a job done thoroughly by someone who cares.

Whilst previous boiler services from other companies seemed to 'have done the job', it became apparent over time that a yearly service could vary from 40 minutes to just 15 minutes - ringing an alarm for me. Time to find someone new. What a revelation: this engineer was highly techically knowledgeable (evidencing parts of the boiler that had not been properly serviced or checked by showing us the components and the subsequent wear, damage or consequence of a lack of attention) and who systematically checked & worked through each part of our boiler. Also, in 12 years, only 1 other engineer had checked & bled the radiators. Jim was here for a few hours - explaining what he was doing, what he had found and corrected. Much wear was caused by poor or inadequate servicing. So it seems boiler engineers are like delivery couriers now - racing to fit in as many "services" as possible and not doing a thorough job. This company is 'old school' - proper, caring, courteous, competent, quality-driven. He didnt charge for all the extra time spent sorting out our boiler. Incredible service all round. I highly recommend - the difference in 'quality' was a revelation and so we will not be returning to the other company. This one is a keeper. Treasure such a rarity; they dont come along often.

I found Jim via Which Traders a few years back and he has done a couple of repair / maintenance jobs for my elderly father. When his boiler needed replacing, I had no hesitation in asking Jim to fit a replacement. Jim gave a detailed quote and completed the work as planned and did a couple of extra jobs. The work was completed to a high standard, including boxing it all of the pipework. Jim is an excellent tradesman and an all round good bloke, who clearly values his customers and takes great pride in his work. I would recommend Jim to anyone and indeed have done.

I'm very happy to recommend Jim. My long-standing heating engineer recently retired and Jim agreed to do an annual service on my gas boiler and to inspect two radiator joints that had wept at some time in the last year or so, leaving some green residue on new copper pipes. Jim had all the latest equipment for servicing and testing the boiler and ensuring that it was safe and explained what he was doing as he went along. He cleaned up the two joints that had wept and checked the level of corrosion inhibitor in the system with a testing strip, which showed that it was relatively low. He returned a week later to recheck the two joints, took them apart and resealed and tightened them. He also topped up the level of inhibitor. I'm very happy with the professional and tidy service that Jim has provided and will be using his services again.

Would recommend Jim to anyone. He supplied a competitive quotation to supply and fit a boiler. He came on the day arranged fitted the boiler and has done an excellent job. Very professional explained everything very thoroughly in his work and cleaned up before he left. A credit to his trade.

My parents are both disabled, one severely and I needed to find a decent, reliable, honest and trustworthy plumber in the Great Barr area, for a leaking toilet, which turned out to be one of many jobs. After having a very bad experience with a rip-off merchant, I looked on Which Trusted Traders, read the reviews for Heating and Domestic Services and decided to give Jim a call. This was the best call I have ever made. Jim is a friendly, reliable, honest, trustworthy, methodical and very professional, plumber. He is also very reasonably priced and does not rip you off. He always cleans up after himself and is extremely mindful and careful of people's property and decoration. He is extremely knowledgeable and very thorough and will not give up until he finds the source of the problem, regardless of how long it takes. My parents, unfortunately, have also had the Boiler breakdown resulting in no hot water or heating and he came out as an emergency, in the winter and stayed until nearly midnight to repair and resolve the problem. They have also had radiators breakdown and leak due to them being 30 plus years old which caused damage to carpets and furniture. Each time Jim came out the same day just to isolate the radiators and stop the leak so there would be no further damage and then returned at a later date to fit new radiators. I am so happy I have found a reliable, honest and trustworthy plumber and would highly recommend him without hesitation.

Jim carried out more maintenance work for us this week. As always, he did a careful and thorough job, showing his usual concern to ensure that the issues were fully resolved. Jim communicated with us clearly beforehand, was as friendly and courteous as ever on the day, and asked for no more than a fair price for his work. It's reassuring to know that we have someone so reliable and trustworthy to call on whenever we might have plumbing or boiler issues in future. We've always found Jim highly professional and conscientious: he offers an outstanding service and we don't hesitate to recommend him to others.

I have known Jim for several years and he always does an exemplary job. He is one of a rare breed who will go out of his way for you. He is tidy (unlike some plumbers I have used in the past!), friendly, courteous and extremely conscientious. His work cannot be faulted and I would have no hesitation in recommending Jim to family and friends.

Hired to fit bathroom. He had no idea how to fit tray for shower. He left me with no bathing facilities for 3 weeks. And finally never returned leaving me now with no bathing facilities. He refused to refund money that I paid him. The shower tray has now got to replaced and refitted. Hopeless. He took a whole day to drill a hole in wall for waste continually complaining. Awful to have around.

We were very happy with Jim's work at our property. We had a leak in the bathroom, and Jim came out straightaway. He analysed the source of the problem and fixed it there and then. He gave useful advice and help and also left everything very clean - I cannot fault this plumber. What makes Jim stand out is his professional and friendly attitude and we were happy with the price too!

We wanted to make sure that we found a trustworthy plumber to do various jobs around our house, so having looked at Jim's reviews on Which Trusted Trader we decided to try him out. His first job with us was to service our boiler. He arrived when he said he would, and did a thorough, professional job. We asked him back the following year to service the boiler again, to repair the flush on the downstairs toilet, and to replace various taps, some of which had not worked properly for a long time. It's wonderful that they're now working properly. We asked for his advice for a problem we had with the boiler condensate drain pipe (which flowed into a plastic bowl having been poorly fitted by a previous plumber), and Jim solved the problem by installing it into the soil pipe so it now works perfectly. Jim serviced a gas fire which we hadn't used for years, and he took the time to explain in detail how it works. He did various re-grouting jobs in the kitchen and bathroom, and he was good enough to put up some floating shelves in my bathroom, hence solving the problem of a lack of storage for my towels. They look great! I would definitely recommend Jim to anyone requiring plumbing works. If I need work doing in the future, I would have no hesitation in asking him back.

Jim installed the new boiler some 12 months ago. We were pleased with his work at the time, so it made sense to call him to carry out the annual service. He arrived at the appointed time and carried out the service in a " by the book manner " but friendly with it. no mess and all correct paperwork left on site. We would recommend Jim for any job within his remit. Dudley customer.

Our hot water stopped working just before Christmas. Jim came out at short notice to fix it and did a thorough job, saving us from cold showers during the festive season! He was really friendly and professional and explained things really clearly to us. Whilst working on the boiler at one stage the water seemed to be heating again but not for reasons that made sense(!) Jim was determined to understand what was happening so that we weren't left with a boiler that might suddenly stop without notice.

Jim impressed us when we needed a radiator replaced and he installed it in the same week. When we needed a boiler replaced we were happy to call on him again. The condensing combi boiler required the removal of hot and cold tanks and changes to the gas supply. All this was done in a professional manner. We also had new radiators installed and they look good!

My water heater was tripping the circuit braker every time it was turned on it has happened before and usually means the element has gone I contacted Jim at heating and domestic services on Friday to arrange a day for him to look at the tank he said he was busy the following week but could spare a couple of hours tomorrow to try and get it done for us. As I was out all day my wife stayed in to wait for jim he turned up on time changed the element but turned out the emersion heater was shot it ended up being an all day job and several trips for parts to solve the problem. Not only did Jim stay and finish the job he did the job to the original quote when he had an opportunity to charge a lot more especially as my wife was on her own and was desperate to get the hot water back on. I couldn't recommend Jim highly enough.

Jim gave our boiler an overdue service, and not only replaced the fan efficiently but took the time to answer all my questions about how the boiler and water heater works. My first impression was exactly right: Jim was courteous, efficient, meticulous and knowledgeable. He kept costs down where he could, and clearly wanted to make sure that he got everything working just right. He was easy to reach, and I’ll certainly work with him again. Recommended.

The thought of trying to find reliable tradesmen fills me with dread but Jim came as promised on three occasions & did a good job. Recommended!

Huge thank you to Jim, who replaced our expansion vessel this week. After several other plumbers seemed like they did not want any work, Jim went above and beyond to diagnose and fix the issue in a very prompt fashion. Jim came to service our fire and the boiler at my housebound father-in-law's, all on the same day. He arrived dead on time and worked right through. He is meticulous and pays attention to detail which is just what I want from a gas appliance service. He also took time to explain what he was doing and what need to be adjusted or repaired. I would recommend him to anyone needing a boiler and gas fire service.

Having moved to a new house recently I needed to have a new gas hob installed. Jim arranged to call within a couple of days. He came as agreed and, despite some problems due to the way the old hob had been installed, he did an excellent job and then proceeded to thoroughly test and check my entire gas supply. As well as having a job well done I also have the peace of mind of knowing that all my gas pipework has been tested OK too. Recommend without reservation.
