We had a problem with our oil boiler. This was rescheduled at short notice. Then there were 3 visits with no warning about a potential tripling of cost. Unnecessary parts were changed, then taken away as I protested that they did not make any difference but still charged for them. I had to stay at home for 3 days, waiting around. Whoever they sent spent more time on the phone in the garden (our village has poor mobile signal) than doing any actual work inside. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Not recommended. Very painful experience. Heelas H&R came to service our boiler and charged premium rate £192 for a 35 mins service (we timed it). The boiler did not work after that while it was working fine until then. Heelas H&R did not seem able to diagnose the problem and very quickly left us deal directly with Worcester customer service. 5 days without heating or hot water. Worcester very professionally fixed the issue for us. Heelas H&R did not even offer a refund or compensation for all the troubles. Waste of time and money. Typical "not-my-fault" attitude with "bad-luck", "we live in an imperfect world" excuses. If your boiler is a Worcester-Bosch it is best service it with them directly. They offer more affordable prices and they have the expertise of their product (know what to look for), the spare parts and spend the necessary time to diagnose and fix any issues (2h35 in our case).

Dear Vincent, I'm sorry you feel you have had a bad experience with Heelas heating, however, I feel I should reply with some facts which you have unfortunately forgotten to include.Firstly, I was actually on site for just over an hour when I came to service the boiler (I have a vehicle tracking log to prove this) After finding out your boiler had failed (early the following morning), I was on site within the hour (by 8:30 AM) and had restarted the boiler, which continued to run perfectly for another 4 hours.You kindly let me know that the boiler had failed again at 1 PM that day and I almost immediately contacted you with advice on restarting the burner, and said I would be with you later that same afternoon. I arrived at 3:10 PM that afternoon and restarted the boiler which ran perfectly for over an hour whilst I was on site trying to diagnose what the problem was, but it did not fail or show any faults whilst I was on site. I went to some length, whilst on site telling you how an oil fired burner worked, explaining that if the burner did not fail whilst I was there, it was impossible to diagnose what the fault was.You kindly let me know later that evening (8 PM) that the burner had failed again,unfortunately I did not get the message until early Saturday morning, when I promptly replied to you at 7 AM to let you know that I would drop some electric heaters around ASAP.As promised, I dropped the 4 x electric convector heaters at your front door at 7:25 AM. Good service!

Moved home and the new house had a solar pv water system installed and the solar part wasn't switched on and there wasn't a manual. Dan charged us £240 for 40 minutes of his time including parking his van, to inform me that he could put a new system in and to not bother with the existing system. Since then we have had a new boiler fitted with someone else who didn't charge us to come and quote. My builder said he wished he could make that much money an hour! Heelas vans are nice and new though and Dan was clean and smart looking.

Dear Suzie and Dominic, I’m sorry you feel that Heelas Heating have over charged you for the reported 40 minutes I was on site, however, you have not been honest in your review of the service that I provided. I take any complaints very seriously and to get this review a year and a half after being on site, and after the invoice has been settled promptly by yourselves (without query), is a complete mystery to me? I feel it is unfair that we were not given the opportunity to discuss/resolve the perceived issue with our charges at the time. You were made aware of our charges for a solar service before I came out and I explained whilst on site, that due to the number of issues I had discovered with your system, I would not be able to carry out/complete the service work. I also explained to you that a charge for my time still applied, but as a gesture of good will, I would not charge for the full £250+vat for the quoted service work, and give you a reduced rate. I actually spent a total of 1.75 hours on site investigating the problems identified and working out what needed doing, to fix the solar system and bring the hot water cylinder install up to a proper/safe standard. I can also prove the time I spent on site, as we have trackers on all of our vans and can produce a tracking log/printout as evidence. I also spent further time in the office producing a detailed quote/specification. I Would like to give you the opportunity to remove/rethink your dishonest review of my company.

Quick and efficient fitting with great care taken of my house whilst work was in progress. Real care taken with the pipework, which is in a stairwell so visible at eye level, and also used metal fixings which improved the look.

Heelas heating offered good advice for replacing our old oil boiler and helped us to chose the best option for us. The new boiler was fitted within 3 weeks of our initial inquiry. The engineers were polite and tidy. The new boiler has been working for a year now without a problem and we have noticed a massive improvement in the hot water supply and also the oil consumption. We are very happy with the service Heelas heating provided and would definitely recommend them.

We recently used Heelas Heating for a boiler replacement and were very happy with the results. The initial quote was professional, informative and we were advised we needed a less powerful thus less expensive boiler than we thought we needed. Unusual for a plumber to try and save you money!!! The installation engineers were polite and friendly and seemed to take great pride in their work. Also they were very tidy. They cleaned and hoovered at the end of each day. We would highly recommend Heelas and will be contacting them again when we look to refurbish our bathrooms.

We had our old heating and hot water gravity fed system replaced to a pressurised system which included a new efficient oil boiler and a thermal store. Although a big job, the team have taken great care to avoid disruption. We appreciated their response to queries even out of hours, including their excellent explanation of the work and controls. After a poor experience with a plumber who said there was nothing wrong with my boiler and that the problem lay elsewhere, I was delighted to find Dan and Richard who could finally resolve my problem. Heelas replaced my elderly mothers shower with a power shower and seat but there was a problem with it. Mistakes do happen but they were very quick to respond and accepted full liability. They didn't charge anything to put it right, including replacing the seal around the shower - which was extra. Luca was charming and explained everything he was doing, to my mother. I would definitely use them again and will happily recommend them to anyone.

Removed 15 year old bosch combi boiler and installed a new bosch Worcester combi boiler and a new flue. Install team are always punctual and polite. The office staff are very helpful . That's why I use Heelas heating. Probably not the cheapest

Our old boiler failed in January and after a quote which arrived quickly it was deemed not cost effective to repair considering its age (15 yrs) and make. After a very quick response and excellent communications including a reasonably priced quote from Heelas Renewables, the new boiler was installed and up and running within a very short period of time. The company is very well run and the workmen very polite, knowledgeable and efficient people; taking care to communicate during the job and taking a lot of care to make as little mess as possible and to clean up afterwards. In my experience using them for about 20 years they are a very well run local company who I would happily recommend.

Our 20+ year old boiler started to really play up in early Jan and despite a maintenance contract with British Gas they were unable to fix it or suggest next steps after a lengthy engineer visit so we contacted Heelas as well as other companies. Heelas were very prompt to respond, surveyed the problem boiler and pipework and made recommendations, and crucially were able to fit us in quickly. The engineers were excellent, clean, tidy, and professional, keeping us informed of what they were doing as well as discussing issues they encountered along the way. Work was completed ahead of schedule and we now have a fully functioning boiler and system for the first time in a long while. We will definitely call on their services for future plans and highly recommend them. Thoroughly professional organisation.

Our boiler ceased working on a Sunday (one of the coldest nights of the year) and I emailed Heelas that day hoping it would be answered on the Monday. Dan from Heelas answered immediately, visited and organised a replacement on the Monday much to my amazement. The team worked hard on Monday installing a new modern boiler which involved fitting a new flue and conducing flow away and fitting some new valves and electrics. The work was complete on time but due to the age of one of the radiators it developed a leak (no fault of Heelas) and that needed replacing too. All the work was done efficiently with little fuss and the house left spick & span afterward. Could not have been done better.

We contracted Heelas after moving into our home with a very old heating system which was not performing well. We had already chosen to replace the full system rather than repair (the system was 26 years old and showed signs of neglect). From the initial contact right through to the job completion, we were very happy with Heelas. The workmen were always on time, very clean and kept us informed at every step of the job, including when there was an unexpected curveball with a shower. There was a slight issue with the quote, however, it was rectified prior to job start in a fair and equitable manner. All snags were corrected before the end of each day (albeit there were only 2 minor ones!), and we also had a telephone follow up from Dan Heelas himself to check on satisfaction. Heelas are not the cheapest out there, but we are happy that we did get value for money and the satisfaction of a job very well done!

We were severely let down by a well know national boiler supplier beginning with a W during the recent extreme weather. Our service contract with them was worthless as they would not take calls or respond to online logged requests. All that happened over the 30 or so times we tried to call, was hearing a recorded "we are too busy to add you to the queue". So cold and desperate and having used Heelas to install our boiler 6 yrs ago I contacted their out of hours email service at 6.15pm. 90 minutes later Dan rang me. He gave excellent / local knowledge advice which got us up and running. Not only that, he has been back in touch twice just to be sure we are OK and still warm. No pressure to come and visit and no payment. THAT IS GREAT SUPPORT AND SERVICE. At this point we still have had no contact from the national provider 3 days after logging the call. Guess who will be getting out service business going forward...

Old Heating System Professionally Cleaned and Restored to Working Order

I can't recommend Heelas Heating & Renewables more highly. A few weeks ago my central heating and hot water system stopped working. I gave Heelas a call and Dan Heelas himself was at my door within the hour. He checked the system out and told me that there was blockage in the system and that as a result the boiler was tripping out preventing the system from working. He recommended power flushing - a prolonged and expensive process. This was carried out taking most of the day and finished with bleeding and balancing the individual radiator heat output. All the work was all carried out in a very professional manner. My heating system is now fully functional, back to the way I remember it.

We needed a new boiler in our garage to replace an old boiler in our utility room. Of the traders who came out to quote, Dan Heelas was the most through. He suggested replacing the central heating pump and two valves, all 20 years old and after some research, I accepted this as good advice and our whole system is now much quieter. The standard of work carried out was very good. It took slightly longer than expected due to a couple of complications but the quote price was honoured. Installer was very helpful and friendly. Unlike other installers, did not try and charge for a power flush as the chemical flush was adequate. No hesitation in recommending to others.
