I would definitely use Herkomer roofing Ltd again. Alex and another man arrived on time and got straight to work. They were professional and worked quickly, tidying up as they went. Couldn’t fault the communications between myself and Katie, who arranged the visit. They replaced my rusted cast iron down pipes with new plastic ones and took away the old ones as requested. Very reasonable pricing too!

Ben assessed the flat roof on my garage straight away - it had been leaking badly for a number of years. He took a lot of trouble to confirm the presence of asbestos and then took all the appropriate steps to ensure that the roof was removed, and disposed of in compliance with Government regulations. The work was carried out promptly and efficiently and I now have a dry garage. He, and his assistant went above and beyond - clearing vegetation, and helping to clear the garage. They arrived on time each day and took great care to complete the work in spite of adverse weather conditions. Great praise is also due to their office manager, Katie, who was helpful and efficient throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ben and his team.

We have used Ben on several occasions but most recently he replaced a flat roof for a pitched roof. The work is fantastic, the quotes provided are always clear and prompt and the work is always completed on time. We are so happy with the work Ben has completed. It has made such a difference to the house. Not only that, Ben leaves everywhere tidy and cleans up after he has finished. We absolutely could not recommend him enough.

I chair the Finance Committee of Bushey & Oxhey Methodist Church. A neighbour reported an iron down pipe was leaning away from the wall at the side of the church over a passageway and towards an adjacent building. Ben called the next day to assess the situation and established it was a disused oil vent pipe. A reasonable estimate was immediately given and accepted, pipe and old fittings promptly removed and the brickwork made good. Last year major work was done promptly by him after gale damage to flashing on the spire and tiling and flashing on the church roof under insurance cover. Following further rain a return visit was made promptly without charge to add to adjust the flashing on the church roof. Other routine remedial work last year to a leaking flat roof and clearance of blocked guttering has also been done to our satisfaction.

Ben promptly came round in Oct 22 and gave a quote for fixing a leaky roof. He advised he was taking bookings for 2-3 weeks ahead. I called the day after receiving the quote but was told the earliest they could fit me in was 3 months later, for a job that would take one day. Reluctantly I agreed to the date in late January that they offered me. Didn't hear anything further until mid January when they emailed and said it would now be at least end of March before they could do the job, blaming poor weather, staff shortages etc. I emailed back asking if they could confirm a date, to which they replied they could no longer carry out the work that they had quoted for. Can't comment on whether they are any good at repairing roofs, but their shoddy customer service means I cant recommend them.

I contacted Herkomer because they were recommended by a neighbour having a similar roof replacement. Ben turned up when he said he would was very professional and answered my queries. Timely quote and very competitive price. The team turned up when they said they would, got the work done despite very hot weather. Kept me informed about the job. Ben explained options carefully and at the end explained what they had done. It was a painless experience and i believe it is a very good job. I would highly recommend this company.

The job entailed replacing guttering, fascias & soffits and renewing flat roof. Arrival times were prompt and the job was finished on budget and well within the agreed schedule. Both tradesmen were friendly, answering questions and communicating in all instances where it was necessary. An additional extra small job was also carried out promptly without any fuss. I required re-felting of my garage roof - the existing roof was literally peeling off and required immediate replacement due to the poor weather. Herkomer Roofing came to have a look within a day of calling. The work was scheduled accordingly and they arrived promptly on the day. The old roof was stripped and removed. New felting was applied. They estimated a little over a day to complete and finish off for a double length garage. The job took just over a day as scheduled and looks great. They did a fantastic job laying the new felt and finishing off the trimming. The guys were very friendly and courteous and didn't leave any mess behind. I am completely satisfied with the job and would not hesitate to use or recommend them for further work should it be required.

Arrived exactly on agreed time and carried out the repair work efficiently and cleaned the site afterwards. Very impressed with their work.

They arrived to do the job when they said as they always do. They don't overcharge, their work is excellent, they take care and don't leave a mess. Herkomer Roofing installed new GRP roofing to existing flat roofs on ground floor and first floor levels. The work involved stripping off existing 25 year old coatings and a lot of making good before new boards and coating were installed. Ben and his team turned up on time, worked continuously and professionally. They cleared waste materials promptly, left the site clean and tidy between visits and spotless on final completion. Communication was very good and they were flexible in dealing with difficult weather during the early part of the project. The assistance provided by Herkomer Roofing was outstanding in securing a satisfactory outcome for me following very poor work carried out by my new neighbour's builder. The roof is slated on a terranced property and was very poorly joined to my part of the roof. Mr Braine, proprietor, assisted with negotiating for the work to be rectified and supported me in the discussions with the builder and my neighbour. The rear chimney stack no longer served a purpose as my neighbour's builder had removed the remaining supporting chimney breast. I could not trust my neighbour's builder to undertake the work and insisted that following the poor work on the slate roof I would select the company to rectify the roof and to knock down the shared rear chimney. I have previously had repair work carried out to my main chimney and my roof by Herkomer Roofing and have always found them reliable, highly professional, tidy, curteous and polite as was the case on this occasion also. I could not have negotiated with my neighbour and their builder without the assistance of Mr Braine. The work was carried out at the agreed time and at the agreed cost. Mr Braine has a very calm, assertive manner and is very clear and helpful in explaining what is required, an absolut asset given the complicated circumstances with next door's builder. I am very happy with the work and have already recommended Herkomer Roofing to friends who also have been very happy with their work.

The first job which Herkomer carried out for me was to replace a flat roof with fibre glass which was done both efficiently and on schedule. The second job was to replace guttering at the rear of my property,which again was completed on time and schedule. From design to the building and execution of a loft extension. Excellent craftsmanship in all aspects of the build. Clean & reliable. Everything that was quoted was delivered to a high spec and any changes I requested along the way were met with whatever the customer wants they can have. This was a fairly standard job, replacing existing fascias, soffits, bargeboards, gutters and downpipes. I had to point out two areas of work that were poorly executed and that would have caused me problems later. They re-did the work, but I shouldn’t have had to do this. Attention to detail was not good either. I had them back to redo one item on grounds of aesthetics. I fixed a fair sized gap myself between old and new soffits, and I have let others things go, to save hassle. Their advertising states that they are Master Craftsmen. On this job they definitely fell short of that description. On the up side, they were courteous, punctual, and tidy.
