Gerry and his team spent two weeks working on our kitchen and it was a pleasure to have them onboard. Despite opting for a cheaper kitchen model that required additional work to fit, Gerry possesses excellent carpentry skills and was able to manipulate the materials to provide us with even more space than the kitchen planners had accounted for. Every finish was done to a high standard and they made sure to clean the site at the end of each day which makes a real difference when living in a flat. I would absolutely employ Heron Carpentry again and have recommended them to family and friends.

Gerry completed a total bathroom removal and installation. The work was carried out to an excellent standard within the agreed budget and on time. There was an additional issue with the Lintel beam, however Gerry was able to offer his expert advice and rectify the problem. Gerry and his team were punctual, tidy, professional, friendly and communicated each stage of the installation work with me. They even turned up for work during the two-day heat wave! I highly recommend Gerry he went above and beyond, and I will definitely be using him again for future projects.

Complete removal and replacement of an old kitchen, which included dealing with electrics, ceiling and floor replacement and coordination of boiler renewal. This was done efficiently and very effectively. Communication was excellent throughout. Our needs were considered carefully and any issues arising from working on an older building were managed through skilled problem solving. Decision-making was well supported through discussion with Gerry that reflected his experience and skill. Gerry and his friendly team do a great job. They were skillful, tidy and punctual.

Gerry has done work for me since 2013. He is an excellent carpenter. He has laid my oak flooring throughout and has built me 2 bespoke units which everyone remarks on. They are amazed at the quality. He has also laid a new floor in the kitchen and has fully decorated my lounge and upstairs hallway to a very high standard. I would recommend Gerry highly.

Heron Carpentry were hired to carry out a full bathroom and toilet refit, as well as painting and decorating in several rooms. The superior standard of Gerry and his team's work has left us feeling like we've moved into a new property; we couldn't be happier with the finish, and the craftsmanship that went into the work. The team were always prompt, friendly, courteous, and understanding of the fact that we were both working from home; doing their very best to keep noise to a minimum, and keeping the spread of dust as under control as possible. At the end of every working day, the site was left tidy and habitable. Gerry was also on hand for support and advice when suppliers were unreliable. His years of experience were invaluable and helped ensure the work was finished on time, without compromising on quality. We trust Heron Carpentry implicitly with our home and know that they will deliver a first-rate job every time. We cannot recommend them enough.

Heron carpentry have done quite a few jobs for me. The latest is my bathroom which is stunning. They are efficient , hard working , professional and really pay attention to the details. No job has been too big or too small . Looking forward to working with them on my next project .

Gerry and Daniel built and installed some bespoke bedroom wardrobes, a kitchen cupboard/shelves and a cupboard within the eaves. Throughout the process, from quote to completion we were really impressed with Gerry and Daniels friendly approach, advice and professionalism. It was clear they took pride in their work, helping us to design solutions that fit the aesthetics of the house but were also practical, and we are delighted with the outcome of their work. They were particularly good with our 18-month-old daughter who still talks fondly of them to this day every time she goes to her new wardrobes!!

Gerry project managed the entire renovation of our, now 3 bedroom flat, he was a delight to work with and completed the huge job to perfection. The project included; rewiring, plastering, creation of a partition wall to create a new third bedroom, new boiler and radiators throughout, hanging new doors, new bathroom, new kitchen, restoration of the original coving, new skirting boards in keeping with the original, as well as bespoke wardrobes, shelving units and cupboards throughout. The project was flawlessly managed, the budget was discussed at the start and kept to, the project ran on time and all workmen were punctual and reliable. Every detail was thought of and we could not be more thrilled with the final result. Gerry is honest, dependable and a highly skilled carpenter who makes beautiful pieces that you will treasure. I could not recommend a better man for the job!

Gerry was recommended to us by a friend and I would happily recommend him to any of my friends. His work was top class and as agreed on the quote. I had new steel installed to correct a sloping floor, which involved removing half of my kitchen and then reinstalling and finishing off back to a plaster level. Every day Gerry tidied up and turned up as promised. I can’t fault the quality of the work from Gerry and his co-workers. He was probably the best trader I have ever had in my house to carry out works and I can safely walk on the floor above without it dipping or creaking anymore! I had to wait a little while for Gerry to fit me in but a good workman will be busy and worth the wait.

Gerry has done an amazing job in moving our bathroom from one room to another and creating a room for walk-in-wardrobe in the old bathroom in just 3 weeks. He really took his time to understand what we were after and ensured throughout the project we were happy with the work and placement of furniture etc. We are delighted by the result and very impressed it only took 3 weeks. His helper was a young chap called Daniel, who was super friendly and also an energetic worker. I would highly recommend Gerry and his crew and would use again.

We used Heron to replace an integrated fridge and freezer with cupboard space, and construct some additional cupboard space and shelving around a new American style fridge freezer. Work was quoted a 3 months ahead, and was started and completed on expected dates within £100 of quoted price (there was small adjustment to materials cost). Very professional and courteous service throughout, and we're very pleased with the result! Have already recommended to a neighbour needing some similar work done.

We are so happy with our lovely new storage cupboards under the stairs. Gerry provided us with a prompt quote, stuck to the agreed start date and price and was friendly and professional throughout. Gerry and Daniel did a fantastic job and we would highly recommend. They really are very skilled!

Using our basic design, Jerry and Dan built a bespoke pergola over our patio. Jerry advised us on design changes to ensure strength and durability. This advice was very helpful. The finished structure is exactly what we wanted. It is very solid and attractive. As well as the timber work, Jerry painted and finished the pergola and installed lighting. This is another high-quality job which we are very pleased with.

Gerry and Dan completed a full kitchen refurbishment, re-laid flooring throughout the downstairs and built a bespoke cupboard for us. Workmanship was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Hired Gerry at Heron Carpentry to do some shelving in a living room and study. Gerry and his colleague were very friendly and professional throughout and the work was of an extremely high standard. Very cleanly and left the place as good as new. Very easy to communicate with and helpful, Gerry came round and did a bit of aftercare too which was great. I would highly recommend Heron Carpentry based on my experience and will hopefully use them again for future jobs.

We chose Gerry to install our new bathroom which had been designed and supplied by Rouse Bathrooms of West Wickham. Gerry completed the work to his usual high standard. He kept us informed of progress throughout and co ordinated other trades to complete specialist tasks. He created the minimum amount of mess possible and cleaned up each evening. Ours is an old house which presented unexpected issues which Gerry dealt with confidently and without fuss. Variations to the original quote were discussed and agreed. It is a pleasure having Gerry and Daniel in the house. The finished bathroom combines great design by Rouse with high quality installation by Gerry and his team of contractors. This is the third time Gerry has worked in our house and he is now our first choice for work in our home.

Gerry installed a complete new bathroom suite within the time allocated to a very high standard and within budget (which was very competitive). He pulled the old bathroom out and managed the plumbing, electrics, tiling etc within the time frame agreed. Due to the covid restrictions a basin unit wasn't ready to be delivered but Gerry installed the rest of the bathroom so that it was functional and happily picked up the unit when it became available on our behalf and installed it very quickly. He also replaced four doors and painted them. There were a couple of snagging issues but Gerry was happy to sort them out very quickly. Everything was left clean and tidy after the job was completed and very much to our satisfaction.

We would thoroughly recommend Gerry. He was very professional, polite, and reliable. He also gave some great suggestions when we had a doubt. We are happy with the end result and Gerry came back to finish off the last little details, which we greatly appreciated. This was a small kitchen project but we are thinking about using Gerry again in the future.

We had two alcove cupboards built in our lounge along with two shelves. Gerry was brilliant, he listened and completely understood what we wanted and talked through the finer details with us at each stage, giving us advise when we needed it. The work was completed on time and the price was amended in line with our final product. He was considerate of our home and kept everything clean and tidy over the 3 days he was here. We are extremely happy with the units and shelves especially the extra details he added in which made them look like they have always been here. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask him to come back for another project.

Gerry has built a new cupboard to our design, matching the dimensions of an original cupboard in the same room, Gerry also restored the old cupboard preparing and painting the doors and waxing the cupboard carcass. The new cupboard is exactly what we wanted. The work was completed in the time and budget agreed. Gerry kept us informed at every stage of the work and incorporated changes as the work progressed. His work was tidy and it was a pleasure having him and his apprentice in our home. Gerry will definitely be doing more work for us in the future.

Heron carpentry did a variety of jobs around my house including sliding doors and kitchen cabinets and an outside gate . Everything was completed on time and within budget , to complete satisfaction. Would definitely use again and highly recommend.

Gerry and Daniel have just finished renovating our kitchen and have done an outstanding job. In addition to removing the old kitchen and fitting the new one, the work also involved knocking down a wall, bricking up a window and door and fixing damage to a ceiling caused by an old leak. Gerry managed the whole project, including all plumbing, electrics, plastering, window fitting and decorating. He is an excellent craftsman, a great communicator and was very helpful in terms of the kitchen design itself. He also sorted out unforeseen issues very promptly (e.g. getting a heating engineer to move some pipes). He and Daniel were always punctual, hardworking, courteous and friendly and left the place tidy up at the end of each day. The project was also finished on time and budget. I can heartily recommend Heron Carpentry.

We had Gerry and Dan build a coat cupboard and storage dining bench in our newly refurbished house. Gerry also hung several reclaimed doors for us. We are very happy with the work. Gerry and Dan were respectful of our home, including that we had to work while they were there, and most importantly, they always shut the door so the dogs didn't run out! Gerry worked with us on the design of the pieces being built eg the shape of the shelves and adding ventilation to the bench to allow airflow for electrical equipment being kept in it. He was always accommodating of our bespoke requirements. This was especially true with the reclaimed doors, which threw some curve balls given they weren't pristine and Gerry adapted the doorframes to make it work. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Gerry fitted our kitchen - effectively project managing a team to strip out an old kitchen, replaster the room, then fit the new one - and he made us built in wardrobes from scratch for our bedroom. Communication was excellent throughout, the work was done on time and to a very high standard, and Gerry was good company and 100% reliable to have in the house. I would recommend very highly for any carpentry or related work required in the south-east London area.

I arranged with Gerry for him to come a give a quote for a cabin bed. He didn't turn up and when I contacted him an hour after the agreed time to ask if he was still coming, he never replied. Perhaps he wasn't that interested in the job, but it wouldn't have taken much to politely reply or cancel. I've waited a week to give him time before writing this review.
