HGS Plumbing and Heating is made up of a team of qualified, friendly and professional plumbers, gas engineers and heating engineers with over 20 years experience in the industry. During our time in the business our engineers have worked on jobs of all sizes, from huge commercial jobs for office blocks and industrial facilities all the way down to fixing a leaky tap in a downstairs bathroom.

just now New I called HGS, when I had my heating breakdown early morning. Rob was extermely helpful and arranged for one of his experts Matt to check. I had an excellent experience with HGS Plumbing in Norwich and would highly recommend their services. Despite being extremely busy, they managed to attend my elderly parents’ property much sooner than expected - arriving on the same day. From the first phone call, Rob was exceptionally courteous and helpful. He explained the situation clearly and set realistic expectations, advising that it might take a couple of days to get someone out. Given that my parents (aged 78 and 82) were without central heating due to a boiler fault, I was incredibly grateful when he arranged for an engineer to visit that very afternoon. The engineer was professional, knowledgeable, and very considerate. He was able to get the boiler running again by addressing an issue with the pump and also took the time to bleed a couple of radiators. My parents were extremely pleased with both his manner and the quality of his work. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by the team’s efficiency, honesty, and genuine care. HGS Plumbing provided outstanding service at a time when it was truly needed. Highly recommended.

I’ve used HGS twice now, first for a leaky toilet and then last week for replacing my old, knackered boiler. Both times, they booked me in earlier than expected, which was great for a quick turnaround. The work was spot-on – no issues at all. The chaps they sent were friendly and professional, and my new boiler’s working perfectly. Really pleased with their service and would definitely use them again.

I contacted HGS because our immersion heater kept tripping out leaving us with no hot water. Right from the get go they were helpful and friendly. You don’t get any nasty surprises with them. They tell you how much it’ll cost and how long it’ll take and then do it cleanly, quickly and professionally. Matt, who did our work, has been and done a few jobs now and even our dogs greet him like an old friend. HGS are reliable - a trait that’s in short supply these days.

Unprofessional and lazy…..
Rob from HGS was unprofessional and lazy. Instead of attending my home to assess my leaking toilet, they asked me to send them photos. On the basis of these they gave me a quote and guidance that was completely incorrect and has led to me incurring significant unnecessary costs.

The outcome would likely have been the same even if we had charged for a visit, as the necessary component can only be replaced once the boxing is removed. Fantastic service from start to finish. Matt came and resolved a multitude of issues with our boiler and even managed to pair our problematic thermostat back up. Matt was friendly, highly knowledgeable and efficient and always showed me what work had been done to the boiler. He noticed and quickly fixed issues with our condensate pipe outside that other firms didn't. From previous bad experiences with other local firms, I was worried about rolling the dice on another firm. So glad I did though, would recommend these guys to everyone! Stellar work!

HGS were recommended to us when we bought our house in Norwich in 2012. We've used them for any plumbing or gas work since then, including having a new boiler installed. Christine in the office is always a pleasure to deal with and the company is reliable, professional, efficient and they even remind you when things like services are due. Recently we had a totally unexpected boiler issue 2 days before exchanging contracts as we sold our house and Rob went above and beyond to send someone to fix it - saving the day. After detecting a noise like a tap left on, HGS spent some time and effort detecting where the leak was and fixing it. It turned out that water was leaking at a phenomenal rate from a corroded pipe connecting the meter to the house. HGS kept me informed at every stage and did their absolute best to minimise disruption. Their work was top quality and they provided me with photos of the work for my insurance company. They are quick, hard working and very friendly. I've used HGS for many years now and would highly recommend them. I wouldn't use anyone else!

Brilliant job by Matt of HGS Plumbing and Heating, no concerns recommending HGS for all plumbing and heating needs. Called out to complete an annual boiler service and fault find a leak. They came out and completed the work, and returned to replace an additional issue with the mag flow on the original installation. Great communication from office, polite and professional service from engineer. Attend to carry out annual service and safety check to Ideal boiler & investigate pressure loss - Found leak from AAV - Boiler found to be working safely Test and leave in good order (£75.00 plus VAT) Attend to replace AAV & magnaclean filter - Drain, isolate & remove faulty components - Supply & fit new AAV as necessary - Supply & fit new magnaclean filter and repipe as necessary - Refill with added inhibitor - Reinstate supplies and carry out operational checks (£275.00 plus VAT)

A great company. HGS found a gas fire for my father (98) who relies on the fire for warmth in his main room. They stuck with it through technical and supply issues and managed to get it installed before Christmas and have made a big difference to his life. All of the people (Rob and his staff) have been incredibly helpful and proficient throughout, and I recommend them without qualification.

My washing machine flooded the kitchen and the next room. The water from the kitchen is pumped out to a vertical pipe, which then slopes to join the bathroom waste water and leads to the septic tank and the water is pumped deep underground to a Spoke System at the far end of the garden. I phoned HSL who sent an engineer the next day and he found the pump inside the house had broken. He replaced it and flushed out all the water after adjusting the pump's action. A week later, the flooding happened again. HSL were very helpful when I contacted them and suggested I got a Drain firm to check the system outside, and they found no leaks but detected roots in two places and advised a visit from the Slurry services. Wet wipes that a visitor used had caught on the roots and blocked the entrance to the final tank. HSL were in contact frequently and the two people who organised the work of the engineers discussed the problems with me as they occurred, and while I was considering finding a new bigger box for the indoor pump, they advised me to have the drainage assessed and the system emptied and then reconsider it. As no problems occurred I did not ask them to find a bigger box. They were helpful, sympathetic, and patient with my queries on the phone, and kept me informed of each stage in the proceedings.
