We got 4 quotes and Hodgson came out within our budget. They were professional right from the start. We had the whole roof replaced. The job was quite difficult as we had foam insulation to be removed completely before the replacement roof could be started. Darren, Euan & Joe plus a couple of others worked really hard. They turned up on time every day. The weather was really hot but that did not stop them carrying out their job well. They cleaned up every evening before they left. We were informed of everything that was happening from a WhatsApp group created by the office so I was never wondering what was happening. Darren posted photos of the work as they progressed. Neighbours also commented how well the work was going. We are really happy with the new roof and would happily recommend Hodgson to anyone.

Hodgson provided a quote and took photos to show what the problem was. They provided us with a detailed breakdown of the quote works and the cost. When I confirmed that I wanted them to carry out the job the scheduling was done without any delay. Initial communication with the Hodgson's office team was friendly and professional and this was continued by Darren and Ewan who carried out the work. I am extremely satisfied with their level of workmanship and overall conduct. A true professional which left us very satisfied with the service - I would definitely use this firm again.

Great people, great work, no shortcuts, I was sick for the most of it but they did the work as promised without me being there as they promised.

Hodgson's provided a temporary covering to our leaking flat roof and then replaced the roof last week. Initial communication with the office team was friendly and professional and this was continued by Darren and Ewan who carried out the work. This is the second time we have used Hodgson Roofing. We first employed them to install a new roof on my elderly father's house. They completed an excellent job, so when the guttering on my own residence needed replacement, we decided to use them again. Our confidence was well-placed; the workers were punctual, courteous and worked diligently to complete the work on time and to a high standard, clearing up after themselves before leaving. A refreshing change from some of the cowboys we have come across and we would certainly recommend them based on our experience.

We have just completed what began as a large extension but morphed into a full house renovation. Such was our trust in Aaron and his team. From our initial meeting, we knew we had finally found someone we could trust to work with us to achieve what we had been planning to do for years but had never found the right builders so kept putting it off. Aaron shared our passion for the project and enthused us to go further with brilliant ideas we hadn’t even thought of and which we are so glad we did. Costs and all aspects of the project were, at all times, very clear so there was no surprises. Like other reviewers mention, of course there were issues crop up from time to time, but Aaron and his team dealt with them quickly and calmly even when we(but truthfully I mean I!) felt like running for the hills. I honestly think if it hadn’t been for Aaron’s calm and measured guidance, constantly reassuring us and keeping us on track, we wouldn’t have been so keen to do as much as we did do. The standard of the overall build is outstanding and Aaron’s attention to every small detail is amazing. The team were all so pleasant and respectful and easy to have around. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending Hodgson and Sons, in fact have now taken them on again to do some work on my workplace building. I am confident that the final sign off is not the last contact, I know if I ever need anything done again Aaron will be my first point of call.

Aaron and his team undertook a huge and unusual extension and conversion project, building a large steel-framed extension and converting an old two-storey garage extension into utility, study and library rooms. From the first moment to the last our trust in choosing Hodgson Construction has not been misplaced. The work has been completed to an excellent standard, on budget, with no unexpected costs or inexplicable delays. We are incredibly happy with the final result. But the best thing about using this company is the outstanding communication. We have always been in timely and regular contact throughout the entire, long process, with clear updates on a regular basis of where we are, what issues and solutions have been found (Aaron solves problems before they really become problems, which is also amazing), what's next and any questions he has about our choices. Aaron has constantly checked on our satisfaction, asking us to raise issues at any time, and any issues have been addressed immediately. In all, a process that can be incredibly stressful has been made as easy and simple as possible by a team that works incredibly hard and does what they say they are going to do. Although Aaron said to me at the end of the (long) project that I'd be glad to get rid of them, it's genuinely been a pleasure working with them and I will miss the discussions and conversations! There is no question in my mind that I would go back to this company for any other service that they provide.

Hodgson did a fantastic job building our extension. They quickly fixed a mess left by a previous builder and built the extension to a very high standard and on time. The team was always friendly, responsive and helpful. We highly recommend them if you are looking for a professional, trustworthy builder.

Hodgson Construction recently carried out a loft conversion on our house and we are pleased to say we have seen first hand why they have so many good reviews. From the initial meeting with Aaron to completion of the project we found Hodgson to be impressive. A friendly and diligent team that took the stress out of the project. We are very happy with our new master bedroom and study and would highly recommend. We will be in touch with Hodgson for any future projects.

I have used Hodgsons on three occasions, and have always received great service I can rely on. They are prompt and efficient, and complete the works at an agreed cost - there are never any surprises. I am so pleased with the recent job, which was to renew the apex at the front of the house, but in keeping with the mock tudor style. The work was done quickly and efficiently and looks amazing. Hodgson Roofing were professional, well-organised and did a super job repairing our roof. We had scaffolding across the front of the house and they informed the neighbours for us. A wasps' nest was found and interfered with the mounting of the scaffolding, but the company organised for the nest to be removed. This was done promptly and the work was able to continue smoothly. Photos and videos were taken before and after. Windows and affected areas were left clean. Very happy with the work and highly recommended.

I called this company when a roof tile was found in our guttering, and we then saw the gap in the roof where the rain could get in. Hodgson's sent someone to estimate the very same day, and the roof repair was done the next week (6 days later). An extremely quick and efficient service and an excellent job. Helpful and friendly staff all round, and a pleasure to deal with. I thoroughly recommend this company and will use them again whenever we need to.

Problem: Shared Chimney leaked rainwater down flue despite chimney pot covers. Flaunching likely worn and cracked. Works: Remove lose mortar pieces, PVA over, and build up to height with mortar and render rainproof. - Done to budget and on time. Hodgson was the only one that • accepted that trying to send a ladder over multiple neighbours’ fences for access was not feasible, and instead negotiated rear access with an auto works that would allow a single hop access. That alone would have clinched it. • Then there was Sofia who assured me that unlike the other companies roofers I’d seen, all heavy and large giving me nightmares of cracking roof tiles or worse, Hodgson’s roofers were agile and light like Olympians and true to her word, they were! From my initial call with Sofia who was able to load the pictures I’d sent of the chimney into their system to Charlie’s assessment and sending it felt like a professional organisation that understood excellence and client focus. Sofia kept me posted on scheduling and Charlie took charge of logistical issues as it was a somewhat complicated job. Their customer care and interpersonal skills with the client were impeccable and I felt reassured. Hodgson’s ability to hold pictures, the quote and invoice on their system and bring up the pictures whenever I had questions was an immense confidence boost that here was a company that was well organised and not just winging it. I have used this local company twice over the past couple of years, once to replace my flat piece of roof and this time to replace the guttering on my garage which had started to leak. Both times I have been very happy with the quality of the work done and the service received.

Brilliant work! Basically, they were hired to correct a botch job roof installation done by Roof Doctor London (Rajan). Hodgson and Sons were recommended to me by my in-law, as they recently had work done by them. I needed a company that was reliable to give me peace of mind! I contacted Hodgson and Sons because of my in-laws recommendation. The 2 gents that installed the roof were always on time, courteous and very hard working. Work was completed quite quickly (quicker than expected) and photos were taken for reference every step of the process. Everything was arranged with Charlie, who took care of everything and I can highly recommend the firm . If you want professionalism, reliability and an all-round A1 job done, look no further. I wish I knew about them in the first place.

I have used the services of Hodgson & Sons, a local family business, for many years, particularly for roofing repairs, and have always had good service and very reasonable costs. I have recommended them to my son, who used Hodgson for a house side extension and then a completely new kitchen, and to my daughter who used them also for a completely new kitchen. I know they were both very pleased with the service. In December 2022, following the very cold weather and snow, I discovered I had a badly leaking gutter. I called Hodgson and, even though it was a very small job for them, Charlie came out to look at it, and came back the following day and repaired it. I cannot fault the service at all and thoroughly recommend them for all types of roofing and building work.

We met Aaron the Director of the company during the second meeting. He approached the project with such great enthusiasm, energy, knowledge, and fair pricing that we had to choose them. We had from the beginning the feeling of them all being very caring and Aaron really wanted to do this project. He estimated the works to be completed within 14 weeks. They managed to do it in 15 weeks. Hodgson Construction made it possible for us to remain living inside. This can be quite a stressful time. However, the amazing and unique positive energy each and one of their crew member had is something you won’t find very often. Everyone is extremely accommodating and professional. The most common answers you will get from them, are "It's not a problem", and "We get it done”. This is something you can just hope for once you have gone into a relationship with any building company. Every crew member has been extremely polite, charming, hilariously funny and just a delight to be around with. We developed our project a little bit here and there throughout the extension being build, as everyone had his ideas on how to do things a little bit better. We have had no regrets whatsoever to take on the ideas and suggestions. Someone might be able to get the overall project a bit cheaper, but this will reflect in quality. Hodgson's pricing overall has been extremely fair. We didn't have any disagreements about payments. The aftercare has been fantastic and also spot on. We would always work with Hodgson again

If you hire Hodgson, take care to ensure you are clear about their guarantee of their work. Within months, cracking appeared in the tiled ground floor at every floor surface change and room threshold. Aaron accepted there was a problem and an independent pro tiler explained that it was caused by differing movement between surfaces and that suitable membrane had not been laid beneath the tiles as had been specified. Aaron agreed to investigate but after 18 months of chasing has failed to take the agreed action, avoids phone calls does not respond to messages and refuses to deal with the problem he has created. Would not recommend.

Repair/reinstallation of roof tiles when Storm Eunice blew through. Hodgson were extremely responsive to my initial request and had a chap out to assess the damage swiftly with a quote soon after. The work was then booked in and the repairs took place very promptly and exactly as requested. All contacts involved (Sue, Sophia, Charlie) were very helpful, polite and a real pleasure to work with. I will definitely be keeping their name in my contacts list for future work and would definitely recommend!

This was a major step for me, so glad I found this company. Did the research, phoned several but from the first call with Sophia through to Aaron answering all my queries through to the great team of roofers. No problem. The WhatsApp group is a great idea, any queries are dealt with immediately. The team were always on time, cheerful, cleaned up every day. The quote didn`t change, a few problems arose, discussed and explained my decision. Definitely recommend Hodgson and Sons, and thanks to Charlie, Alan and Levi.

Hodgson's did a great job with a small flat roof above a 1st-floor bay window. They replaced the board and felt layers, repainted the soffit boards and replaced a few tiles from the adjoining pitched roof. The team were very friendly and nice to have on our property. They worked efficiently and left the site clean and tidy. Communication throughout the project was excellent - with plenty of photos before, during and after the work - and somebody was always available for questions. Happy to recommend the company and use them again.

Second time we have used these guys. The finish of work is to a very high standard. Very punctual and reliable. If you are looking for a firm that can carry out every aspect of building work required I can’t recommend these enough

We would have no hesitation recommending Aaron and his team. We’ve never embarked on such a major project (rear extension, new downstairs WC, new Utility room and refurbished bathroom) so we were nervous about going ahead and what to expect. Aaron and our site foreman (“H”) metaphorically held our hands and even made design suggestions that improved our finished area. The whole team were experts in their own fields and nothing that came up phased them at all. We always felt confident that H was on top of the project and Aaron checked in with us regularly - with both of them happy to field our daft questions at any time! Creating a WhatsApp group with everyone on the project really helped - we could ask questions at any time and someone would come back to us almost immediately. The work was finished on time as promised for us to cook Christmas dinner in our new space. Given the work was completed through the COVID pandemic, with lockdowns, isolations and supply delays, we were so impressed with Aaron and his team. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

Hodgson’s contracted for removing old pebble dash which was flaking and leaking and at their recommendation replacing with new covering by Webersil which included external wall insulation. We subsequently added a complete roof replacement, new guttering and front porch to the contract. Aaron, the owner of the company, was involved at each stage of the process with us and guided us through each step. He set up a WhatsApp group and added his various teams to it (Roof, Walls etc). They communicated and sent photos/videos as each stage was completed. If we had any concerns they were dealt with either thorough the app or by phone. All the Hodgson’s team members were considerate and friendly, going beyond what was contracted for to satisfy us. We have a terrace property and during the process of removing the pebble dash there were issues with neighbouring properties however Aaron personally resolved these with the neighbours, communicating directly with them and closed them out to their satisfaction. Due to restrictions Covid slowed down the work but did not stop it. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company for major work projects and will use them again in future.

We were pleased with the work carried out to repair several issues with our roof and chimney stack. Communication with Aaron was really easy and the men on site were friendly, efficient and left everything looking really tidy. A great job and would recommend Hodgson and Son for any similar job.
