I have been working in the electrical industry as a sole trader for the past 20+ years.

I am an NICEIC Approved Contractor.

I cover mainly North London but I am willing to travel further afield if required.

I offer a wide range of electrical services from full rewires, partial rewires, kitchen refurbishments, oven and hob installations, replacement light fittings, replacement accessories including sockets and light switches and replacement distribution boards (fuse boxes).

I carry out fault finding in the event of loss of power via breakers (fuses) tripping out.

I can install smoke detection systems.

Jason House came to my rescue on a Bank Holiday, when all electrics on the ground floor, notably in the kitchen (including boiler, fridge-freezer etc), suddenly went dead. He arrived on time and worked methodically to identify the problem, in the course of it finding another problem which would have caused trouble very soon, and resolved both, for a very reasonable fee. I won't look any further next time I have an electrical issue, highly recommended.

Jason did a very professional job rewiring a garage - neat work done with the minimum of disruption, and completed very promptly. He made the process straightforward from initial visit to completion, and at a competitive price. I will certainly use him again when the need arises.

I am very sorry to be leaving a poor review for an electrician who has obviously had lots of good reviews. Jason gave us a clear quote and was very thorough when explaining what we needed to get for replacing switches and installing replacement smoke alarms. He was very friendly, well presented and tidy. He came on time and completed the work within three hours. Just before leaving he said he was going to return the power to the smoke alarms - this tripped the fuse. He said that this meant that we had a fault in our wiring and he would need to return to check out the wires as they may have been gnawed by mice or damaged in some way - he said this would be another couple of hours work and he could return the next day. It seemed strange that he had left turning the power on to the smoke alarms until just before leaving, so we asked an expert to come over and check and we discovered that he had wired one of the alarms incorrectly (putting the live wire (brown) into the interconnect socket (white) and visa-versa). This resulted in the fuse being tripped and burnt out the alarm. I contacted Jason and told him. He apologised for the error and admitted that it was his fault. However I told him that I did not want him to return as I had lost confidence in him. He offered to reimburse us for the alarm and for £15 of the £200 we had paid him for the 3 hours work. I will not be using him again.

I am very disappointed to receive this review. After receiving the photographic evidence of the fault, it was clear that this was my mistake. An embarrassing, very basic mistake of connecting two wires incorrectly. I apologised immediately and agreed to the reimbursement for the time spent connecting the alarms (1 hour) and the cost of a replacement alarm. I am also disappointed that I wasn't given the opportunity to investigate and correct this problem however, that is of course, the customers right. Being a conscientious worker, after finding the fault, I would have owned up to it and not charged the customer for the fault finding. Being a member of Trusted Traders is extremely beneficial to my business and all reviews are considered to enable my continued learning and growth within the electrical industry.

Cooker cable replacement

Jason replaced a faulty cooker cable for us, running a new one from the mains board to the cooker itself. This meant routing a new cable along an awkward route, and involved lifting several floorboards to do so, which he did with care and minimal disruption. He turned up bang on time, and completed the work quickly and efficiently. We would not hesitate to use him again, or to recommend him to others.

EICR: Electrical Installation Condition Report

This the 3rd or 4th time we've used Jason, after a neighbour recommended him. He's done two EICRs, repaired the lights in our street, and investigated some cowboy electrics done by the builder of a place we bought. Each time he's been extremely helpful, explaining the situation, working out the most appropriate solution and getting on with it. One thing I really like is his reliability. Unlike a few previous electricians, plumbers and gas engineers, he actually comes on the day he says he will. And he arrives bang on the agreed time. He responds promptly on email and the one time he needed to change an appointment he gave us plenty of notice. I anticipate some more significant re-wiring some time in the future and I would not hesitate to contract him to do it.

Bathroom and Kitchen Fan Installation

First of all Jason’s responsiveness and communication was fantastic - 10 minutes after first having called Jason, he was round to my flat for a recce to review the job at hand. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgable when it came to my complex installation request, which included installing a heat extraction unit via an outdoor socket and creating a new hole through a brick wall - all of which was done incredibly smoothly and the finish is perfect. Pricing for the job was fair in my opinion and I have no negative points whatsoever and will 100% use Jason and his team again for future works. Thank you so much, Jason!
