Ian and his team did a phenomenal job. I went on holiday but needed to get the place redecorated as it was a rental and left Ian and his team to do the work. When I came back the work was really good, and the site had been cleaned to a high standard. Ian’s quote was competitive. Ian also helped me match the existing wall colour in the property which worked out really well as I was painting the hallway but not the rooms. The work was done within the agreed schedule and budget. Ian is professional and very helpful. Communication was very good.

Ian Day Decorators provided us with the highest standard of workmanship. They completely re-decorated our living space and we are delighted with the result. The quote was the most reasonable of the Which Trusted Traders I approached. Ian was a pleasure to deal with - there quickly to quote, always responsive to subsequent questions, helpfully flexible about the use of paint that I had specified for the double glazed wooden windows, full of good advice and clearly well-organised. We had hoped to get the work underway sooner but they are a busy firm - a testament to the quality and value of their work I think - and I can see why it might have been hard to meet every client's expectations. Ben and Tony carried out the work to decorate the exterior of the house. I could have set my watch by when they turned up each day, always on time and ready to start at 8. Their preparation was thorough and they made good progress on a job that wasn't entirely straightforward. They went the extra mile in several areas, thoroughly repairing doors that others might have considered beyond hope, ensuring that the areas outside the house were left tidy each day and that it was literally spotless by the time they had finished. They were good at talking to us when the need arose but clearly knew what was expected of them from the outset and got on with the work. The whole job took c. 15 working days, about what I would have expected. Overall an excellent experience with a firm I'd be happy to use again.

I used Ian Day's company service for first time to decorate an integral renovation of kitchen, dining, lounge, and stairs. Ben and Toni did a brilliant job, very neat painting, and always tidy. In every step of the job, they showed their skills and professionalism. In addition, they were friendly, trustworthy, and completed everything on time. We are pleased with their work and love the final result. We will definitely use them again and would happily recommend them to anyone.

We live in a one-bedroom flat and had asked Ian to quote for painting and decorating our bedroom and hall, We quoted for the work in November 2022 and we did tell him we would not want it done until August 2023 to which he agreed. He came to collect the keys a few days before we went away and went through the work to be done. He offered to move the heavy furniture out of the bedroom but declined saying I would do it myself. Also, any screws that were in the wall should be left in situ. When his team had completed the work he emailed a couple of photos to show what had been done. The work has been completed to a high standard and the bedroom and hall left clean and tidy. He has quoted for our diner/living room which we will have done in May next year. I would, without hesitation recommend him to anyone who asked.

Multi generation business that works to high standards with first class results Ian suggested the best paints to use as I needed a tough washable product. The area was the hall, stairs landing, and stairs up to the loft, seven doors and a dado rail. The area was in dire need of a facelift, there was a lot of making good required. Paul tackled the preparation and whole project with an eye for detail and snagged any minor areas along the way. The result was perfect. Paul and Luke were tidy and professional making the whole process seamless. Job competed on time. Fair price

Ian Day had great reviews and appeared very professional when he visited to give us a quote. He assured us that the carpets would be covered and protected before starting the work. This was also confirmed in the quote. We agreed a date to commence 6th July. On this date, his employee turned up with a very dirty stained dust sheet, a step ladder and 2 wallpaper scrapers. He told us that he had not been told that he needed to cover anything. My husband called Mr Day who said he would send someone else to cover everything as agreed and his workman left. When my husband called him in the afternoon he didn’t answer. Shortly later he received a text from Ian Day saying he wasn’t coming back to do the job. No explanation, no reason. We waited for 4 months and turned down 2 other decorators. We have now been left in the lurch in probably the busiest time of the year to find another decorator. We chose him based on reviews on the site and are extremely disappointed at his lack of professionalism and reliability. We would definitely never recommend him we have no idea what his work is like as we never saw it as he wasted our time.

Ian and his team did a great job on the external paintwork of the property - including addressing some areas of rotten woodwork - finishing everything to a very high standard. The initial quote was very reasonable, and the work was completed to that amount and in less time than originally projected. I really appreciated Ian's quick response to all communication from the initial quote request right up to the job completion. He and Luke were very pleasant and easy to deal with throughout their time on site. I'd definitely recommend and will be asking them to do further work for me in future.

Re-decorated our main bedroom after a new en-suite shower room had been installed within. Also decorated the hallway and porch which has numerous doors leading off the hallway. Luke completed the work in a most methodical manner and the finish is excellent. Luke was also very helpful in taking down window blinds and helping to put them back up after the decoration was complete. He was a very tidy worker and proved to be very pleasant, courteous and reliable.

Ian gave us good advice and Ben, his painter, completed the job of decorating the bedroom and the tricky job of the inside of the new wardrobe within the timescales they said. They even did a Bathroom window, which was an extra job. We are very pleased with the job they did, they turned up on time everyday and will be using them again to decorate our outside windows.

Ian Day organised the painting of our newly plastered lounge and hallway. Communication was excellent throughout the process. Luke did a great job working 3 days, eight hours a day on the lounge. He was efficient, tidy, courteous and professional. Ian knew we wanted the hallway painted before November and we agreed the job could be done in the evenings as all his team were busy. Paul did a great job on all areas working Saturday and four evenings. He was courteous and mindful of our need to use the stairs, keeping the area safe and ventilated. Great finish on the lime plastered wall. The whole job was competitively priced. We are very pleased with the outcome.

We decided to use Ian Day Decorators after a pre quote visit from Ian who took the time to thoroughly discuss our ideas and offer the professional advice we were looking for. Ian kept in touch on a daily basis while the work was ongoing over a period of 18 working days. The work progressed on schedule we were happy with the progress. Work consisted of lounge, dinning room, kitchen, hall stairs and landing. Repaint of walls, ceilings and all woodwork. Changes we made along the way were easily accommodated. I have just had Ian Day Decorating complete the decoration of three rooms (Living, DIning and Study) over a three week period. I am extremely pleased with the finished result and found Ian and his son Luke very professional, timely and with a great attitude. Luke was a very diligent worker and exceptionally tidy - he worked around me and a houseful of kids during half term! I am happy to recommend Ian and will be using him again for future decorating. We asked Ian to come over and give us a quote. Ian came across as quite rude, abrupt, argumentative and seemed to get very impatient and frustrated with me as I wasn't completely sure on what colour / wall paper we wanted etc. At times Ian would even ask me if I was doing any of the work. This confused me as he's the decorator not me. I have brain damage, mental health problems and mild Autism so Ian's attitude made me feel quite anxious and uncomfortable in my own home. I know people have bad days but I wouldn't expect a which rated trader to behave like this on a first meet. It was very unnecessary and a bit upsetting.

Ian's son, Luke, painted our lounge, entrance hall, stairs and landing. His work was excellent, he was very tidy and he had a pleasant manner. I have no hesitation in recommending him to other people.

Paul recently painted our living room and made a beautiful job of pale slate walls and inky blue cupboards. His attention to detail is really impressive and they are very keen to get it right, which they did. Half way through I asked if it was possible to repaint a bathroom which had not been done very well. Luke came and repainted beautifully, quickly and efficiently. It has transformed it. Ian Day Decorators will now be my first choice every time.

Ian was very quick to respond to all communication, even dropping in on a Sunday morning with Ray who was completing the work, as they were starting while I was away. I am extremely happy with the work. A good quality finish and great people to work with. I even added my kitchen ceiling to the work, which they were able to get completed in the same time frame. Very neat and tidy workers carried out the decoration of my lounge, stairs and Landing to a high standard. they protected my carpets and large items of furniture before starting work and I was able to leave them to get on with the job. They were all very pleasant to talk to and I have no hesitation recommending them.

Ian Day and his team redecorated our spare room, stripping the wallpaper and then painting after it was re-plastered. Ian was professional throughout and had a good idea to put a border round a large built-in mirror when he came to quote. The work is neat and to a good standard. I cannot recommend Ian Day's services enough. We have been let down a few times in the past, so were wary using a new decorator, but Ian was so professional, and very reliable. Ian and his team carried out the work of decorating our church hall and adjoining rooms. The work was done to a high standard, within the original estimate. All was done efficiently, and quickly. The workmen were courteous and we were kept in the picture as to how the work was progressing. The work was done within the timescale we specified and they kept the relevant areas tidy so access to the main church as still possible.

I quickly completed on a flat and needed someone to decorate every room so we could move in ASAP. Ian came round to view the place the same day I called him (a Saturday, no less) and work started on Monday. Paul, Adam and Luke made a great job of the place in just three days and were a pleasure to have around. Following a tenancy several walls in the house needed repainting to make right a very messy repair in the wrong color made by the previous tenant. These included bedroom walls, landing and stairs. Ian provided a very good quality service. The quality of the paint finish was excellent and the painter Paul worked in a very tidy manner. From estimate to finished job the work was turned around very quickly which matched very well my needs. The cost of the work was reasonable and compares well against other painting firms in the area that I have used previously.

Had 2 large rooms painted which were newly plastered and the skirting boards. The lads were very friendly and helpful and did a very good job. Time keeping was excellent. I would most definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Ian Day's decorators did a great job treating the stained walls and ceiling and then repainting them. After redecoration, there was no trace of any leak stains or damaged plaster work. They covered all the furniture and floor and also passed the hoover at the end. I am really happy with the job they did and have recommended them to friends.

Ray arrived around 7.45 every day, and left the house clean and tidy at the end of each day. The decorator we've used for 30+ years has retired from 'big' jobs, so we found Ian's firm on Check-a-Trade and he visited promptly and provided a competitive quote to redecorate our office interior across 3 floors. His team worked promptly, and to a very high standard. They were super flexible in working over the Christmas holiday period - and came up with some really creative ideas to brighten our offices with feature walls and pillars. Ian Day Decorators restored our top landing after a disastrous flood had pulled down all the wallpaper and soaked the plaster. It was not just the perfect finish, though it was perfect - it was the attitude of Ian and his team that made it all a pleasure - they were cheerful, impeccably polite, punctual and very tidy, the house was left immaculate every night. This is a family run business with loyal employees who have worked for the company for many years. We found their standard of workmanship to be of very high quality and the external decoration of our house was carried out with great care, thoroughness and professionalism. The work was not rushed and the quality of the finish was extremely good. Communication was excellent, for example, we were told when scaffolding was to be erected and removed and this was done promptly. Pricing was competitive. I found Ian Day Decorators on the which trusted trader site, while looking for a reliable company to carry out the refurbishment of my property. In addition to the redecoration and painting of the entire property (including painting new cabinetry and windows). Ian was able to organise additional works required to my house including, re-plastering and repairs due to recent water damage with James. Ian and his team were happy to accommodate electrical and plumbing work being carried out at my property and organize the purchase and installation of new flooring at a very reasonable cost. It was a pleasure to work with Ian and James. They completed all works on schedule and to a high standard. I would recommend them and will be using them again in the future.
