The quote was the most reasonable of the Which Trusted Traders I approached. Ian was a pleasure to deal with - there quickly to quote, always responsive to subsequent questions, helpfully flexible about the use of paint that I had specified for the double glazed wooden windows, full of good advice and clearly well-organised. We had hoped to get the work underway sooner but they are a busy firm - a testament to the quality and value of their work I think - and I can see why it might have been hard to meet every client's expectations. Ben and Tony carried out the work to decorate the exterior of the house. I could have set my watch by when they turned up each day, always on time and ready to start at 8. Their preparation was thorough and they made good progress on a job that wasn't entirely straightforward. They went the extra mile in several areas, thoroughly repairing doors that others might have considered beyond hope, ensuring that the areas outside the house were left tidy each day and that it was literally spotless by the time they had finished. They were good at talking to us when the need arose but clearly knew what was expected of them from the outset and got on with the work. The whole job took c. 15 working days, about what I would have expected. Overall an excellent experience with a firm I'd be happy to use again.

I am so pleased with the job Ian’s team did refreshing the exterior of my 3 storey semi. The job included all timber windows, doors, pebble dash and some rotted wood fascia’s. His decorators Tony and Ben really took great care in their work and respected me and my home by arriving on time, letting me know daily which areas they would be doing and quietly working and cleaning up everyday. I even ran errands and felt comfortable to leave my home in their care whilst out. Ian managed everything perfectly from start to finish with great communication and regular on-site visits. The standard of finishing is very impressive and the house looks crisp and like new again. I couldn’t ask for a more considerate, trustworthy team and will be singing their praises to anyone looking for decorators. When the time comes, I’ll definitely ask them to do the inside too. Very positive experience. Work completed to a high standard by a punctual and polite decorator. Reasonably priced and responsive. Only slight issue was trying to organise a date to get work completed. Overall, an extremely positive experience.

Ian provided an estimate within two days of his visit and kept me informed about a start date. The work was completed quickly and to a high standard. After the job was started it became apparent that some additional work would be necessary and this was quickly sorted out and completed. Ian visited after the work was completed to check that we were happy with the work.

Ian and his son Luke stripped and repainted our bedrooms. Always quick at responding to questions and emails, reliable. Job done to a high standard despite some elements being difficult and friendly and polite to work with. Would recommend.

I found Ian Day Decorators on the which trusted trader site, while looking for a reliable company to carry out the refurbishment of my property. In addition to the redecoration and painting of the entire property (including painting new cabinetry and windows). Ian was able to organise additional works required to my house including, re-plastering and repairs due to recent water damage with James. Ian and his team were happy to accommodate electrical and plumbing work being carried out at my property and organize the purchase and installation of new flooring at a very reasonable cost. It was a pleasure to work with Ian and James. They completed all works on schedule and to a high standard. I would recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

Ian Day organised the painting of our newly plastered lounge and hallway. Communication was excellent throughout the process. Luke did a great job working 3 days, eight hours a day on the lounge. He was efficient, tidy, courteous and professional. Ian knew we wanted the hallway painted before November and we agreed the job could be done in the evenings as all his team were busy. Paul did a great job on all areas working Saturday and four evenings. He was courteous and mindful of our need to use the stairs, keeping the area safe and ventilated. Great finish on the lime plastered wall. The whole job was competitively priced. We are very pleased with the outcome.

We asked Ian to come over and give us a quote. Ian came across as quite rude, abrupt, argumentative and seemed to get very impatient and frustrated with me as I wasn't completely sure on what colour / wall paper we wanted etc. At times Ian would even ask me if I was doing any of the work. This confused me as he's the decorator not me. I have brain damage, mental health problems and mild Autism so Ian's attitude made me feel quite anxious and uncomfortable in my own home. I know people have bad days but I wouldn't expect a which rated trader to behave like this on a first meet. It was very unnecessary and a bit upsetting.
