Ideal Building and Landscapes

Ideal carried out two jobs for me: The first was to lay slabs in my back garden and erect a greenhouse a few day later. The second, as a follow up, was to relay my lawn. This involved removing 15 tons of old grass and topsoil, laying a mowing edge and putting down fresh turf. The work was carried out to a good standard, within the time estimated and to the price quoted. Communication was easy and straightforward and they left the site clean and tidy.

Very easy company to work with. Sam was always available to answer any questions. Sam was there to ensure the work is carried out correctly. Price agreed and work completed in a very professional manner. Quality of work was of a very high standard. Very clean workers always tiding up on completion. Would highly recommend.

Sam and the team from Ideal building and landscapes have exceeded all of our expectations. Our job was for them to lay a porcelain slab patio around 40m squared with an Aco drain along the edge of the house. There was also a slope down from the existing lawn that needed with new turf. We had several quotes and although this wasn’t the cheapest after talking to Sam about the job I was confident that they were the right team for the job. They didn’t let us down the end product is stunning and we couldn’t be happier. Sam’s team we’re great at communicating what was happening at every stage and had the job done a lot faster than we could have hoped! In my opinion, they were worth every penny for the quality work they did!

I had an existing fence panel that needed replacing, a badly overgrown Privet that thought it was a tree that needed a severe pruning, and ivy that was trying to swallow both my house and the next-door property. I received a prompt response to my enquiry followed up by a visit to survey the work. The written quote detailed my exact requirements and was received within 24 hours. The quote was competitive and the work was carried out promptly within the agreed timescale and with no inconvenience to either myself or my neighbours. The debris of the fence panels and the green waste has been removed, leaving me with nothing to do but enjoy the new garden. In all areas of the business, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I will be using them again.

The work was carried out to an excellent standard by a well mannered gang of workmen. Most pleasing was that the area was cleared up and left neat and tidy. I would recommend Ideal to anyone and would certainly use them again for day future work . Excellent.

We’ve been searching for the right company to undertake the work we wanted doing after our new conservatory was built. After many weeks of visits and quotes, none of which we were happy with, we visited a garden centre and asked for their advice/recommendations and they pointed out Sam the owner of Ideal Building and Landscapes who happened to be at the centre the same time. Sam agreed to visit us and survey and quote us for the work we wanted doing. We trusted Sam and decided to proceed with his company. Sam sent his team - Dom, Phil and Adam to undertake the work and wow wow wow what a transformation was made to our very tired 21 year old patio which they replaced with porcelain tiles. We are well over the moon with the finished work and would thoroughly recommend Ideal.

Amazing patio installed by Ideal! Sam and his team were a pleasure to have here. Not only were they all hard working and highly skilled in what they do, they were friendly and respectful of the neighbours too, and even they complimented the team! We had an old decked patio, slabbed patio and path replaced by a ceramic tiled patio throughout. Great advice throughout the whole experience with no hard sell. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sam and Ideal Building and Landscapes to anyone considering a new patio or landscaping!

Excellent service from quote through to finish. The team did an great job putting down porcelain slab patio in my back garden. The team were excellent whilst doing the work did not bother me too much as I was working from home. They listened to what I requested in orientation of the slabs and even did the steps despite the challenges. They only asked me to pay once I was satisfied with the work. I would use them again.

Sam and his team did an excellent job putting down a patio on a very messy and uneven back garden. Sam suggested several improvements to my original specification; all of which I am glad we implemented. But there was no 'hard sell'. Sam went with me to select the caramel sandstone. The team were punctual, friendly, and very hardworking. Sam is an impressive young organiser, and deserves every success. I also mentioned that I was thinking of a base for a shed. They suggested having it done while the digger was on site, and before the patio was laid. All done without fuss at a very fair price. I cannot recommend them enough, and would certainly use them again. I chose Ideal partly because they were Which? recommended, and I am glad I did so.

Had our tarmac drive removed for block paving BIG MISTAKE Damaged our wall to the side of house with digger Uneven cuts round downpipes Broken brick inserted hoping we wouldn't see it Damaged our security post so we cant use it Driveway is completely uneven even the edging strips do not match not notified of problem was told I’ll pop round when I've got time.. you were quick enough to take our money The driveway is absolutely shocking We would never recommend you Jobsworth.

Ideal Building and Landscapes made a new curved path of blue brick pavers to replace the old straight one of concrete slabs. It has transformed my garden. The work was all done within a couple of days to a high professional standard. Thanks to Sam, Dom and Phil for translating my ideas into an actual path which is exactly what I wanted. They were £1000 cheaper than another quote I had! I have had work ( new shed and patio ) done by Ideal before and can thoroughly recommend them. They are nice to have around and good at understanding and interpreting what you want, and giving constructive suggestions. Thanks again Sam and the team.

After being impressed by the work carried out by Sam’s team at my Daughter & Son in Law’s place 18 months or so ago, they were the ‘first port of call’ when we decided to have our patio area revamped. Sam came & discussed my plans and made recommendations. His team arrived just over 2 weeks ago, a good hardworking friendly bunch, who carried out the job to my total satisfaction and left us after 10 days with a great looking Patio. Well done all, I can highly recommend Sam and his Company.

Sam's team dug out and laid a new block and tarmac drive for us - and what a transformation! Work was completed promptly and to the budget agreed. The finished job was improved by suggestions made to design by Sam and the team. They were all friendly and helpful but worked efficiently and effectively. They have done a great job and I would thoroughly recommend them.

Excellent job carried out by Sam & his team. Jason the foreman came up with good ideas that we took on board to make the job look fantastic. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of our Back Garden and Resin Drive. We would highly recommend them. They were all hard working and very polite.

Excellent work undertaken by Sam and his team at Ideal Paving and Landscapes. They undertook a new asphalt and block paved front drive, new paving to one side of the house and reduced levels and sting up at the other side of the house, along with a new concrete base for a shed and a retaining wall. A job well done and at an affordable price. Can highly recommend them and I wouldn't hesitate in using them again.

Would I recommend this company? Most definitely, they completed the job on time and provided a quality end product. Very pleased with the work completed.

Block paved our driveway using Tegula blocks. Excellent job done by Sam and his team. Base was deep and good quality hardcore used. We are very pleased with the finished job and the drainage as driveway is on a steep slope towards the house. Very polite and friendly and reasonably priced for a quality job.

I I telephoned this trader on 30 October and asked for a quote. He asked me to send him my details. I had to chase him on 3 November. He phoned me back on 3 November and said his father was in the area and could his father come round and quote. I agreed. His father turned up. Took notes. He promised to let me have a quote. It is now 12 days on and I have heard nothing. Is this really the sort of company that Which? recommends. I am so fed up of companies wasting my time, keeping me hanging on, promising quotes and not delivering. Unfortunately this company is not the only one that has let me down but I expected more of a Which? recommended company.
