I contacted Ian to quote to fit an unvented cylinder. Access to the boiler through walls and ceilings was challenging. Ian was thorough in his assessments, gave me a couple of options to consider and revisited twice to ensure his assumptions and measurements were correct before finalising a fair quote for the option I agreed. He and his team did the work efficiently and quickly. He is reliable, punctual and tidy. I am really pleased with the work, and would highly recommend him.

My regular boiler service engineer was unavailable so I contacted Ian shortly before Christmas to ask whether he was familiar with our boiler for a service. He responded quickly, saying yes, he was familiar with such a boiler and it would probably be after Christmas if that was OK. He emailed in the New Year, checking if I still wanted the service. I was impressed that he got back to me first and we fixed a time. He was punctual, polite and tidy, checking everything thoroughly and responsibly. We were very pleased we found him on Which. Would highly recommend Ian and would call on him again.

I contacted Ian by email and sent him photos of the leaking tap which needed a new cartridge. He replied promptly and gave me a quote but was totally honest upfront about when he could do the job, which would be in a couple of weeks. He turned up as arranged, disconnected the tap in order to find out which cartridge was required and went off to buy one, which he fitted perfectly. He left everything tidy. He was extremely professional and yet friendly. The whole job was done in an hour, including the time he went out to buy the cartridge, and he charged me less than the original quote. I have already asked him to return in a couple of weeks to do another job.

I was let down by a major online retailer who offered fitting as part of their service for an extra cost of £120. I chose Ian for his star rating and background, I was very pleased I did. Ian was able to call round in the afternoon and finish what major online retailer couldn't. The work was to a high standard Ian cleaned up any mess. Ian went above normal standards of service and I felt I could trust him around the flat. Ian also charged less for his services so I won't be using online installation services again.

All the process was smooth from first contact to job done. Ian didn’t try to upsell like others did which I greatly appreciated. He gave quotes for different options and advised what was the best fit for my property. On the day he and his mate were punctual and the job was completed by early afternoon. I would recommend Ian!

IJ Heating recently installed our new central heating - new boiler and radiators. We were finally able to have our old back boiler replaced. They were punctual, professional and reliable. Completed the work sooner than expected. Ian took the time to explain to me what would be happening throughout. I had full confidence in them. Ian came to remove a towel heater and cap off the pipe - at all times he was very clear, quoted a fair price for the work, did the work soon after to a high standard, and was always very helpful and responsive. I was due to have a new washing machine fitted, but the washing machine valve was seized up, so the old machine could not be disconnected. The internal stopcock was also seized up, so I was unable to replace the valve myself. Ian came in and tried to see if he could free either the valve or the internal stopcock, but he was also unable to free them. He tried to turn the water off via the external stopcock, but mine is 2 feet underground, gets flooded every time that it rains, and has a very old stopcock head, so he was unable to turn off the water. I arranged for the water company to come to turn off the water, and look at making it more accessible, which would be a few weeks later, so in the meantime, Ian located a long handle stopcock key that might (it did) fit my stopcock. He managed to turn off the water, replace the washing machine valve and connect the washing machine. He also gave my boiler a very comprehensive service.....it needed a service, and it made sense to have it done while Ian was already doing the other work for me. For things like this, it's more important to have somebody who you can trust, and who is willing to go out of their way to sort out your problem, than it is the cost, but all of this was done at a very reasonable price. I have full confidence that if any problems occur, like leaks, then Ian will immediately come over to sort them out. Hopefully, that won't be necessary.

Repaired and serviced our gas fire. Professional approach and thorough service. Fireworks better than it did before. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Not only was the quote reasonable but all my dealings with Ian turned out to be a refreshing experience and to the high standard one hopes they should be. Ian is a professional, punctual, diligent worker who completes the job to a high standard and as promised. As others have said, his energy and thoroughness is very impressive and comes properly equipped to carry out the task in the most efficient manner and to cause us the minimum of inconvenience.

The work to replace a central heating boiler and some additional heating controls, plus radiators was completed very efficiently to a very good standard. Some minor technical issues involving pipework alterations were completed as part of the overall task. Site was left clean and tidy, with everything reinstated as necessary.

I have used Ian to fit a new gas boiler and to disconnect gas and reconnect it when I had a new kitchen fitted. In addition Ian sorted out the new plumbing in my kitchen. Today he has given my boiler an annual service. The standard of work is always superb. The work is completed on a timely manor and no mess afterwards. All the necessary paperwork is given. We needed a new boiler and hot water tank and were conscious that because of the age and idiosyncrasies of our house the job might not be completely straightforward. Had a fault code on a boiler the another company tried to fix 3 times to no avail. Ian knew exactly what it was, had the part bought and problem solved in a few hours. Excellent work.

We asked Ian to check our old boiler which had packed up. He gave it a very thorough examination before giving his opinion and our options. He also managed to get it working again which was a bonus considering we know it's on its' last legs. I contacted Ian about replacing my conventional old boiler and installing a Combi boiler. He gave me a very competitive quote and date to install. My heating system was very complex and by no means straightforward and a lot of alterations had to be made. I had a complete system change from an old heat only open vented cylinder with a tank in the loft and 3 days later I have a new boiler in a new location including zone valves magna clean, a new unvented cylinder, all cold taps on mains and a tone of pipe work. Extremely hard work who knows what his doing. This is my second boiler installed by IJ heating, who installed one in my old house. I wouldn’t have anyone else.

Our apartment had been empty for some months and when we moved in the central heating was working but only sporadically. One heating engineer came, replaced the timer but this failed to cure the problem. A more experienced engineer came, replaced a valve which had become stuck through under-use and this appeared to improve matters. However, once we had a new bathroom installed a new towel rail only heated up partially. We decided, when we thought it wise to have the CH given a pre-winter check, to use Which Magazine's "Trusted Traders" scheme which highly recommended Ian's company. We made an appointment and then had to re-schedule it. Ian very politely agreed to come at a later date. Ian arrived on the dot, systematically checked out the whole system and identified the fault which previous professionals had failed to locate. On finishing he completed a very detailed report outlining what he had done. Excellent!

We had a small gas leak. Ian replaced underfloor piping to resolve the issue. We found Ian extremely helpful, polite and would highly recommend him to others.
