Intex Building and Maintenance

Intex quoted for the job to renovate our 1970s house after we heard about Duane and crew from a friend. We instantly felt at ease and were confident in asking them to carry out the work for us. Duane, Dave, Ric and Jack did a fabulous job and completely transformed the downstairs of our house. They also fitted a new bathroom upstairs. Throughout the work, they were always punctual, good humoured and clean working (as much as you can be with all the dust!). They were also flexible with our request and made helpful suggestions about the changes along the way, which undoubtedly added to the improvements. The team were also brilliant with our three children, who looked forward to their arrival every day. The work they did at our house was of exceptional quality and we are so pleased with the result. We would definitely use Duane and team again, and would highly recommend them.

Having benefitted previously from Duane's excellent service, when we needed a complete update of an Edwardian semi we didn't hesitate to ask him to do the work. The house was very neglected, with holes in the ceilings, water ingress, poorly fitted and cheap double glazing, etc, but basically a sound building. Duane and team organised and supervised an excellent team to completely reroof the property and repair water damaged timbers. The whole house was taken back to brick then rebuilt with new plasterwork, floor levelling and laying, new doors and door frames, a new staircase up the roof area, installation of central heating and plumbing, a complete rewire and much more. A wall was removed to create a large kitchen/living space, and fireplaces removed and replaced with ones sympathetic to the age and style of the house. Throughout Duane, Dave, Ric and Jack worked tirelessly and with great good humour. Duane, as in our previous experience, identified problems and proposed solutions that worked and were cost effective. He also actively monitored changing prices of essential materials and sourced them in advance to get the best value. Whenever issues arose Duane discussed them with us in full and gave sound advice which we were happy to act upon. He also liaised well with other firms who fitted new windows and external fencing. As we expected, all work by Duane and team was executed to the highest standard and the team rightly take pride in their work.

I contacted Intex after sourcing their services from my local council Buy With Confidence website. A priority for me was to engage with people who I could trust. I had a problem with water overflowing from a blocked rainwater sink. I spoke to Duane mid afternoon and he visited early the next morning. He carried out a temporary fix straightaway and quoted for a permanent solution which was the installation of a soakaway installation in the back garden. The work was carried out meticulously and I am very pleased with the result. Duane and his team are true professionals and took the greatest care when working on my property. He kept me informed about the procedure throughout and when the job was finished they left everywhere clean and tidy. I have no hesitation to recommend Intex. A great job. Thanks

Duane fully replaced our main bathroom; this was not a usual bathroom refit as needed removing and rebuilding an internal wall, levelling the floor and complete re-arrange of pipe work. The whole job from beginning to end was well informed, transparent and to a high level. Its now our favourite room in the house and I could not recommend the work more highly. At the same time, Duane also put a hard stand area in our garden for our frame swimming pool. We really appreciate his flexibility and problem solving along the course of the job.

We can’t recommend Duane and his team at Intex Building highly enough. From the initial consultation with Duane to the final walkthrough, the professionalism and expertise were evident every step of the way. Duane, Dave, Ric, and their young apprentice Jack always arrived punctually and worked tirelessly whilst remaining respectful of their workplace being our home. The whole project was completed as anticipated and within budget. The quality of workmanship was excellent and demonstrated attention to detail and craftsmanship. They transformed our vision into a perfect reality, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We will have no hesitation in having them back for any work in the future.

Duane built our two storey extension which replaced a badly leaking conservatory. He was with us through recommending an architect to doing the works and we could not be happier. The schedule was a longer than planned but this was down to the weather as well as additional works that we added on during the project. Duane was great at problem solving to ensure the build continued well, amazingly tidy (we expected much more dust everywhere) and was very open and happy to help when adding in extra work. He had great ideas which we ended up incorporating into the build. The budget was accurate (increased only by the additional works we added in) and Duane was very open about the cost. By scoring a 5 here I don't mean that it was cheap but we felt we paid a fair price for the quality we received. I would not hesitate to recommend and to use Intex Building and Maintenance again (in fact I will be looking at doing our bathroom renovation with them).

Our first meeting with Intex went very well and set the tone for the rest of the working relationship. They offered well thought out solutions which helped reduce the cost without compromising the structural or thermal integrity of the garage conversion. The work started on the agreed date, and it was clear to see the level of workmanship and professionalism was better than expected. We were kept informed of each significant phase of the work and at no time did we feel disconnected from the process. Intex are the most organised and tidy company in the game, we were dreading the day they cut a doorway and expected the whole house to be covered in dust. They sensibly used a modern range of dust extraction tools which meant that the mess and dust was kept to a minimum, much better than other contractors we’ve used. Not everything went according to plan, but we’re only talking about two issues that needed further attention. However, the mark of a good company is one that addresses issues without causing concern for the client. We felt assured at every stage that any issues would be resolved which it was. We would highly recommend Intex if you’re looking for professional workmanship with a high degree of attention to detail. It’s also worth noting that the price quoted was what we paid, and they always left the place each night in a clean and tidy manner.

We needed our kitchen renewing entirely, front to back, floor to ceiling. It was for us a big job but we had no idea who we could get to do it, ultimately we had to take a risk. It was worrying as we would need to trust a stranger to do us a good job but also with our caring commitments we would need to leave the house for regular periods of time. Duane and Tyler soon put us at ease and we soon felt comfortable about leaving them to it. They are friendly and helpful and their jolly attitude makes for a pleasant working atmosphere always attended with laughter. They were punctual every day and got on with the job, we are delighted with the final result. If any other building projects arise Duane will be first call made as we would both trust them with the work and enjoy their company while they do it, although we had to wait for his services we were aware of this from the start and the wait was worth it. Apart from one extra unforseen electrical problem the final cost was exactly as quoted.

Duane and Tyler did a number of projects for us: they vaulted a ceiling and put a roof window in, they removed a room divider and installed a new glass one, they improved our loft and installed a new loft ladder. The work has been carried out to a superb standard. Duane has many skills, and so is able to plan and organize the work in a great way. The room divider was especially difficult and the result is just fantastic. The work is brilliant, the price was fair and transparent, and Duane and Tyler were a pleasure to have around. I know exactly who to call when we need any work doing now! Why would I go anywhere else?

Supplied and fitted two Velux sun tunnels. Duane and Tyler have done a five star professional job from quoting to fitting. First class communication at all times, punctual, one hundred percent consideration for my property and belongings during the work, polite and respectful at all times (with a very friendly approach and wicked sense of humour).
