Platinum Plumbers

My friend recommended Platinum Plumbers to me. I called him on Tuesday about a faulty float valve. On Friday morning they arrived at the time they said to expect him. They were super, really friendly and worked diligently to make the repair. I'm delighted with the work and customer service.

We originally contacted Rob after we were left with an unfinished bathroom by a previous company. Rob and his team were helpful from the beginning and helped us complete the initial bathroom. Over the following year, it seemed all of the previous work by the previous company was done terribly and Rob & team helped fix this along the way, eventually we had to rip the whole bathroom out due to no other option. Rob and his team acted quickly, professionally and did a great job. The communication went well and they helped us in a really stressful time Rob and his team were brilliant and we would recommend them.

The job was unsatisfactory from start to finish. The boiler code was incorrect on quote – lucky I checked. Their supplier delivered wrong boiler – if I had not spotted I think they would have installed it anyway. Despite rain and slippery conditions they removed old boiler flue by standing on first floor window ledge outside rather than using a ladder (dangerous since concrete below). Hence job was not done carefully and resulted in damage to brickwork. The flue stuck out too far because they did not cut it off and had to re-do the following day (at my request). They did not clip the boxed flue properly (I was then charged extra for this to be redone since they needed to cut into boxing and re-plaster). They did not know how to commission boiler since it was a new model. Rather than taking the old boiler away for recycling, per their quote, they left it on the street overnight for scavengers to collect. They failed to remove rubbish from site per quote, preferring to ask to use the block’s bin room. We agreed to this, but our bin room subsequently overflowed as a result. The job was meant to last 2 days, but lasted 3 weeks due to the re-clipping and some unavoidable illness.

I emailed Platinum Plumbers on 20th May 2021 asking if they were able to carry out a full refit of a small bathroom. I was encouraged by their initial quick reply, and as requested I completed their online form to give them further details. However, since then I have not received any further communication, even though I chased them up with a further email on 28th May. I don't mind if they're not interested in my bathroom refit but as a "Which? Trusted Trader" I would have at least expected the courtesy of a response.

A leek caused by an old connection that had been botched previously. On inspection the solution needed a pan connector as well as the flush cone so budget was increased a little. The work was done quickly and competently. I was pleased with the result.

It's been a month using our new bathroom and can say there have been zero issues. It's my favourite room in the house! We've been impressed with the communication, workmanship and rapport of this whole team throughout and would definitely recommend them. The initial quote was higher than others, and overall total came to even higher, however, it was money well spent. We felt confident from the start that they knew what they were doing, and felt they had a good grasp of the style we wanted. They came back with a quote and details of every appliance, it was thorough and could tell they'd already spent some time looking up everything. The team doing the day to day work were excellent. Very tidy, cleaned up after themselves and friendly. Our bathroom turned out to be more damaged than first thought and ended up being a month long job, but luckily they aren't just bathroom experts and managed to fix other aspects of the bathroom themselves, including replacing the rotting joists, waste pipe etc which saved a lot of time. Could not recommend Platinum Plumbers enough.

Platinum plumbers called at the time specified to service my boiler. They checked all the radiators and left everything working. The plumber and his assistant were wearing masks and were careful of my welfare. They were friendly and helpful and explained what they had done.

I would highly recommend platinum plumbers and boilers anything you wanted to no answered in a manner that you understood the staff were very polite and helpful and office staff had a new boiler fitted plus five new radiators no problems at any time the fitters were neat and very clean price agreed on no problems I would recommend platinum to anyone that needs any central heating work done. 5 Star company

Second time I have used this company. I felt confident in their work. Very professional: they came on time. No fuss, work completed in good time. I had a quote outlining the work and cost. Right amount of customer focus. Respected my wish to use shoe cover when walking on my carpet, clean I would use them again and recommend them.

I'd had problems with my shower intermittently leaking for months - had used plumbers through insurance, who came out, tried something, then left without checking; and of course, no follow-ups. I called Platinum due to their Which? reviews, hoping they could do a proper investigation. They sent Brian round, who did just that - finding one problem, but then not stopping until he'd checked everything, which meant he found the REAL issue. He and Sam were great, lovely to talk to, explained what was happening and what they were going to do. Rob was on the phone whenever needed, to explain costs, potential overruns etc. I will be getting them back to do other jobs very shortly - which is a recommendation in itself!

Here's a cautionary tale for those who decide not to choose Platinum Plumbers. Six years ago I had my bathroom modernised at a reasonable price, this included a tiled shower floor, which within 10 months started to leak, this was repaired but I never felt comfortable with it and I decided it was time to get it replaced. I've used Rob and his team a number of times over the last few years so asked him for a quote. He was up front with his assessment advising me what they proposed to do but this was dependent on what they found behind the tiles. Unfortunately as the work progressed we found more and more problems so I decided to have the bathroom completely refurbished. So the morale here is that you get what you pay for! Obviously, Rob had only scheduled a few days for my job and this was going to be bigger than planned, he managed to juggle jobs about and my bathroom was completed within my expectations and to my entire satisfaction. Rob runs a very professional outfit, branded vans, uniforms, decent paperwork. His team are friendly and work very hard and to a good standard, Brian's pipework is particularly impressive! Rob project manages all the jobs and is in consent communication not only with his team having regular audios at the end of each day, but all with the client keeping you informed at all times. Backup and support is on going after completion of the job. Platinum Plumbers are not the cheapest but in my experience are the best!

On the 24th February at 11.30am I discovered a copper pipe, located externally to the back wall of my property, was leaking. The pipe feeds a garden hose off of the main water supply. The dripping pipe was soaking the brickwork. Left unattended it would saturate the wall and cause internal damage. I called Platinum Plumbers, explained the issue and sent a photograph to assist my enquiry via a link on their website. By 13.20 Platinum were scheduling a site visit. At 13.45 the visit time was confirmed and twenty minutes later two plumbing engineers were on site. They analysed the problem, confirmed the price to solve the problem and executed the solution. They were polite, wore face masks and respected social distancing protocols. Within 20 minutes the work was completed and tested. I paid the bill over the phone upon work completion and carried on with my day. It was an exemplary response, which minimised disruption to me.

Had to use Platinum Plumbers for an emergency callout for my boiler - the condenser pipe had frozen and water was backing up causing leaking internal pipes plus the condenser chamber was leaking and the boiler making strange noises! A team of two came within the hour. They were professional and organised - explaining clearly what the problem was and outlined everything that they were going to do to remedy it. The job was completed within 3 hours. Super pleased with this friendly and helpful team. Really makes a difference to have things explained. Would recommend. Thank you PP!

They came straight away when I told them about an overflow, it was sorted that day. I asked about another job and was given an estimate, I had the work done the next week. I am very satisfied with the work carried out.

Platinum Plumbers have fitted a new tap in my kitchen. They were clear in their estimate and kept good communication throughout, leaving me feeling confident in their ability to carry out the work. I was not disappointed. The work they completed was done to a high standard and the work area left clean and tidy. My new tap is beautiful! They answered my many questions, explained the pros and cons of certain works and left me with a fantastic quality bathroom. Their workmanship is always fantastic and meets my high standards. I had to have my cylinder removed so that another firm can come to replace the pump. We purchased an older victorian property that hadn't been invested in for about 15 years. The toilet and bathroom were separate and we wanted to bring the toilet into the bathroom. When Rob initially arrived, he has a very open and honest conversation with us and we felt we built up a strong and trustworthy rapport with him. Rob and his team did an excellent job transforming our old bathroom into a modern new shower room and incorporating the toilet. The old toilet room was then replumbed and converted into a utility cupboard, which now holds the washing machine and dryer. Due to the age of the property, we uncovered a few surprises along the way, but Rob was there at every step ensuring we understood any potential issues but also providing excellent suggestions and solutions to reach the desired end product. Rob's team - Bryan and Sam - were also extremely polite and courteous. We would recommend Platinum Plumbers to those who are looking for a trustworthy plumber.

When Rob arrived to survey the house for the quote, we found someone both thorough and trustworthy. We were very impressed with the detail, care and openness he brought to proceedings during our first meeting and that didn't let up during the entire job. Everything was explained with clarity, and if things were complex for us to understand, Rob's drawn diagrams made things easy. I had a problem with my kitchen gully/drain. When Rob rang me I explained the problem and I was able to message a short video to him. He saw the solution and arranged for Carl to visit as soon as possible which was less than two hours. He fixed the problem in under 2 hours which involved a rerouted pipe and cementing the wall. The quote given was kept. Carl was very helpful and explained everything.

I had a spoon drop into my waste disposal unit and get thoroughly jammed. The unit had been installed a short while back by Platinum Plumbers. The men arrived on time and did the work so that we are able to use our waste disposer again. They cleaned up after themselves so you would hardly know they had been in the kitchen. We've used numbers of plumbers over the years and this firm is easily the best of them

I had a gas boiler fitted yesterday and I was impressed with the slick proficiency and professionalism in which they carried out the work. They were polite and courteous. Kept me well informed and they did as they said they would do, they were timely, no fuss, trustworthy, clean. Great customer care. Worth every penny. I would certainly recommend them
