J.C. Friend & Sons recently replaced a 12ft panel of patio windows with double sliding doors for us. The quality of the product, the value for money, as well as the faultless installation, were enough to warrant a 5-star review, but the real joy of the installation was the Friend family themselves. Not only were they super friendly and polite, but Jon Snr was here for a time on the first day and he noticed that my front door wasn't closing properly, so he just fixed it and then told me about it afterwards! He was also kind enough to recommend a local tradesman to do my floors for me. Exceptional family business who take great pride in their work and who truly live up to - and in my experience, exceed - their excellent reputation.

The installation was carried out on the agreed date and time. From the time of receiving my quote until the work was completed I was kept informed. Jon and his brother Joe are very personable and take great care, they oblivious take pride in their workmanship. I cannot fault their work in any way. As an added bonus their bill was cheaper than a quote I had from another Trusted Trader. No hesitation with recommending this company it was a pleasure to deal with this business.

Called John to help out my 87 yr old mum with a really complicated job. He attended site quickly, surveyed and provided a quotation. There were some changes, he re-attended site and re-measured. Nothing was too much trouble. He kept me informed at all times, kept to his quote and kept me updated on the lead in times etc. They kept to the dates, attended site on the day and at the time they said they would. They took out the old shattered windows and installed the new ones, a perfect fit efficiently, cleanly and diligently, with a keen eye on cleanliness. His two operatives were very, very personable and clearly very good at their job. Apparently it was the expertise of their trainer. Would not hesitate to use them again and recommend to others.

JC Friend and Sons replaced 8 windows this week at our house. They are a highly professional company, do what they say they are going to do and when they agreed to do it. Most significantly, the whole team were delightful, friendly, polite and very very tidy. They were completely respectful of our home and protected everything from any damage. Their workmanship was perfect and they left the job in better shape than they found it, going out their way to even do a few extra jobs beyond the scope that they identified, such as removing some conduit whilst the scaffold was assembled, filling in a few draughty holes that they spotted in the on other window frames that were out of their scope and tidying up some pointing of the brickwork that was not in the scope. I would highly recommend this company. the friendliest and tidiest contractors we have ever had.

JC Friend and Sons fitted new windows and patio in our home. Jon Snr gave us a very fair quote and was very thorough in the process helping to explain all the different options available unlike others who came to quote. Whole job was completed within a week - could not believe the speed and quality of work. The whole team were polite, friendly, tidy and skilled. A true family business who value their customers and each other. The team have continued to be helpful and sincere since finishing the job, sorting out Certass certification and recommending other tradesmen to us. Cannot recommend Jon and his team enough!

I now have used this company on three separate occasions for the instalation of double glazed windows over a period of 3 years. On each occasion estimations were carried on time as agreed. The work done was of a first class standard in both materials used and fitting of the windows.Preparation was most professional and all debris both inside and outside cleared away and the site left clean and tidy. The amount of redecoration we had to do afterwards was minimal. I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this company for this work. They were courteous and helpful ( my wife and I are in our eighties) and a pleasure to have had them around the house, doing this work.

Used John Friend Windows to replace all my Double glazing, he on initial visit was very helpful and took me through the process, his estimate was on par with others, but he had that certain professionalism about him. When I agreed to use his company, he returned to measure accurately, as his initial quote did not go into removing render to accurately measure, also I had changed my mind to the style of some of the windows. John kept in contact with me advising of progress of order and approx installation date. On the first day of installation his sons (Jon and Joe) and a lovely character Mike arrived at 8am, and began to cover my carpets etc, advising me of where they were starting and it would be cold and it was, but hey what else can you do in winter with windows removed. 4 days of work and every day they cleaned up and tidied, great workmanship throughout and my house feels warmer now. In my opinion, you cannot get a more trustful and professional team, it was a real pleasure to see them work, they were so friendly and attentive all throughout the job. We had a new front door and side panel fitted February 2023. Jon and Joe arrived when they said they would, were polite, courteous and friendly. We have used the company several times and always find their work to be of the highest standard.

JC Friend have replaced three blown double glazing panes for us in the last few months. We chose them first because they're local. We've used them since because they're good.

I have had 2 big windows fitted. The team are fantastic, super competent and a really nice local, family business so they feel genuinely invested in giving you good service, keeping you in the loop from quote to completion, finishing the job to a high standard and reasonably priced too. I would unquestionably use them again and recommend them. Windows are a big investment, so you need to be confident with the ethos of the company you choose.

We used J.C Friend & Sons to install 6 new windows including 2 bays. They were very consultative when putting together the quote, with helpful suggestions such as putting acoustic glass in my autistic son's bedroom. The quote compared favourably with local competitors. They were professional and considerate when on site, and we are very impressed with the finished product.

We had bifold doors fitted by this company and from start to finish their service was first class. Work was carried out in a professional and helpful way and the attention to detail from John, Jo and BJ was really impressive. J.C. Friend have just finished fitting double glazed windows for our re-furbished bathroom and landing and a new composite front door. From the beginning of this project, they have been incredibly helpful, giving sound advice when we were trying to decide the most appropriate styles, glass designs and colours. The work itself has been carried out on time and everything has been done to the highest standard including meticulous cleaning up at the end of the job. I had quotes from at least 5 different double glazing companies, most of them not giving me any confidence they could do a decent job, but when John came in and after we had spoken about what I was looking for I knew he was the person I wanted and could trust. Being a true family business was also a great selling point. Everything from start to finish was handled in a very friendly and professional manner and the quality of windows and finish was superb, even after a few years the windows look like new and work just as they did on day 1. I have since recommended them to various friends and they too have been delighted with the windows and doors they have had fitted. Highly recommended.

Have used Jon before so pinged him on WhatsApp asking him when he could come out to take a look at a door that was giving us trouble. He read the message but did not respond. A few hours later pinged him again to see if he was interested in the job and when he could come over - he read the message but again did not respond. Wrote to him the next day and said that I will look elsewhere as I have not heard back from him and would have appreciated an acknowledgment - I call it common courtesy. Got a stinging message back and he blocked my number calling me rude for pointing out to him that he should have taken 30 seconds to acknowledge my messages and not just ignore me and leave me in a situation where I didn’t know whether he is available or not.

Would highly recommend Jon, he fitted our garage window and replaced another broken window. We are very pleased with the fitting which matches our other existing windows. There was a scratch on one of the sills which Jon pointed out and got replaced. Very competitively priced, efficient and both Jon and his brother were so helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I’ve dealt with Jon and his team numerous times fitting new windows,doors and just recently pvc bi-fold doors all fitted to A1 standard. He always follows up after to see if your happy as well.

Jon helped to fix a porch sliding door which had become very tight. He provided a quote upfront and agreed that he would carry out the work if it could be done in a short space of time. He provided an invoice afterward and carried out the work in a timely and professional manner. I will use him again.

John, Joe and Sam were a delight to deal with from the outset - from arranging the initial measurements/quote consultation through to signing of contract to install and execution. John was referred to me by a family member and my initial impression of him was friendly, professionals, thorough and knowledgeable and he priced the work fairly. On that basis we decided to go with him. I had a lot of questions and changed one of the glass styles after the order was placed with the supplier but nothing was too much effort and John acted quickly to find solutions at no extra cost. The team installed 5 sash style windows including 1 bay window. They worked quickly, efficiently and tidied up thoroughly at the end of each day. The work was completed within the agreed timeframe (3 days- which was quick compared to other companies) and to a very high standard as expected. I can not recommend them highly enough and will be using them for my kitchen extension.

When they came round initially they were polite, informative and weren't full of the usual sales nonsense. I was kept in the loop throughout the whole process, either with a phone call or quick email. Was so happy with the work they did and the way the left the house everyday. J.C.friend and Sons did a fabulous job with replacing all 5 windows in my flat. From the start the whole process was clearly explained, all my questions answered. The team left my flat spotless when they were finished. I was very pleased with their work and i would highly recommend this family run company!

For a long time we were thinking about changing our windows in the house but have always been worried about “pushy” companies that say all the right things but don’t deliver. We then contacted John Snr and he came and talked through what was available and the costs. Instinct told us that this was the right company to go with and are pleased we gave them the go ahead. We have just had all of our windows and patio door done and can’t praise Jon jr and his team enough. We have come home from work each day that they have been here and apart from the new windows you wouldn’t know they had been here as everywhere was spotless. The service we have received has been second to none and we are absolutely thrilled with our new windows. We would most definitely recommend without hesitation. A super family run business that should be extremely proud of themselves. If only all companies were like this one.

I had 2 sash windows replaced and 2 new flush windows installed. Not only did Jon provide me with the detailed quote and survey, but he also managed the whole removal and installation job. I really liked that I knew who was doing the work in person and he knew what was required for this specific job. Competitive on price but more importantly really good quality of work and finish. I love my new windows, they have transformed the feel of the house. Would definitely use again and recommend.

They changed our windows (including 2 bays) and front door. It all looks great - they were really nice, honest, friendly people, no hard-sell, and a very competitive quote (they use software that shows you what the design will look like, so you can see before you choose). There's a slight issue with the door lock mechanism, and they got back to me straight away to say they would organise a new part from the manufacturer, so good after-sales care too.

Jon and Chris replaced our cloakroom window, garage door and window and our inside porch door. I cannot find fault in any aspect of their work, they have been an absolute pleasure to do the job and highly professional. I have used JC (John) Friend for windows and biofold doors in my extension and then again for replacement sash windows to the rear of the house. The windows are of excellent quality and the prices quoted were, on both occasions, really competitive. John and his team are highly skilled, friendly, efficient and really focused on the customer.
