I had a leak under tiles (and concrete floor floor) of my downstairs bathroom. The water was seeping up and causing puddles on the floor. As an interim solution I shut off the water at the stopcock until water was needed (showering, cooking, washing machine etc). Richard responded the evening of my posted enquiry (19th Nov), and he turned up early the following morning to assess the work. He was on time and did not rush his assessment. He explained the options well and offered his recommendation – to isolate the leaking pipework and feed through new pipes to provide water to the areas required. This option was preferred to ripping up the tiles and trying to find specifically where the leak was and fixing it. Also, the piping is very old, so likely subsequent leaks would occur elsewhere in the affected area. A quote followed the next day. We agreed he would carry out the works on 22nd Nov. He and his colleague arrived promptly, explained what they would do and got on with it. As work progressed, they found a slightly easier solution which was less messy and took less time. As a result, they reduced the charge by nearly 20%. Richard and his colleague Andy were very hard working. They were also as quiet as they could be – some of the work was necessarily noisy, but they did ensure all the doors were closed to reduce the noise (noting that I was upstairs working remotely) Nice guys – though hopefully I don’t have to see them again. 😉 Danny - Bexley, Kent
