JB7 Plumbing and Heating Ltd previously traded as JB Plumbing and Heating.
We specialise in repairing, servicing and installing central heating systems. We also carry out full bathroom refurbishments and complete other work such as leaks and blockages.
We work throughout Manchester and Greater Manchester.

Hired this company to replace the cold mains water pipe in my house, they replaced only 60cm of the pipe but still charged me £650 for the full replacement as they advised that this was a 'fixed price job'. This was never agreed and was not on their quote. I tried to complain but they threatened me with a bailiff if I didn't pay the outstanding amount and this was before I was able to involve 'Which?'. The company declined to go through the resolution service Which? Trusted Traders are supposed to agree to use, so I had no choice but to take them to the small claims court. It took 13 months and an awful lot of personal time to go through this process. The court agreed that the quote was for the full pipe replacement and I was able to get some of my money back. I now have to start again and get someone else to replace the pipe.

John and his team have all the attributes you need but can hardly find these days: They turn up when they say they will. They complete the job to a high standard and don’t leave till you’re happy with everything. We’re very happy with our new boiler. John advised us on new Nest thermostats and Jamie helped us to understand them, get online with them, and control them through the App. Jamie completely rewired our thermostats because they were a mess, going above and beyond.

My stop tap is located awkwardly in a kitchen cupboard. Other plumbers refused the job or stated that the cupboard would have to be removed and replaced adding to the overall cost. JB Plumbing provided options and costs by text and phone call. They mentioned a sure stop stop-tap. I'd never heard of this and no other plumber mentioned it. JB plumbing fitted a sure stop and a new stop tap. They did not need to remove the cupboard. The work was carried out professionally and without fuss. I recommend this company and will use them again for any future plumbing jobs.

We're having some work done in the house and planning on changing a couple of the radiators. Getting the system flushed beforehand was a bit of an afterthought but I'm so glad we did. An amazing amount of gunk came out! Almost as much dust, debris and lost items fell out from behind the radiatos and I almost apologised. The service was prompt, delivered on time and very politely and tidied afterwards. It is extremely noisy however. The heating already feels better and will hopefully be more efficient and therefore cost saving.

Great service from JB Plumbing and Heating. They done many things in my bathroom. They installed a new toilet, a new vanity wash hand basin, they changed hot water thermostat and repiped the top of the cylinder. I am very satisfied about the job what they done. Highly recommend.

We needed a boiler service as well as a leaking washing machine fixed. JB Plumbing came out quickly (liaising via WhatsApp was particularly effective) and realised our boiler wasn't up to it, and booked in remedial work very quickly. The comms with Sam in the office are great, which makes a real difference for me too. There was also a small thing that needed following up afterwards, and they came out and sorted it within just a few days. Finally, they booked in a check to do the relevant paperwork. Very pleased with how can-do they are and the aftercare is excellent.

Danny came to assess the problem with my boiler and was really kind in explaining what was wrong and giving me options to choose from. My pensioner Mum required a new boiler and radiator at her house. Mr Burns kept both my mother in person and me by telephone informed throughout as to the progress of the work and the costs. I had not asked that he first double-check with me but he did so as a matter of good customer relations and to protect my mother. This was first class service. He and his staff were efficient and tidy, and extremely courteous I have no hesitation in fully recommending him.

Contacting, communicating, and booking with JB Plumbing and Heating was simple, quick, and painless. Special shout out to Sam for prompt responses to queries and clear help in providing pricing and other information. The boiler service was completed quickly and professionally, and the engineer was helpful, friendly, and professional both in manner and presentation. My only very slight gripe was that he was a little late on the morning, but even with that was well within the time set aside for the job, and everything was completed in time so there was no disruption to plans for the day. After having had some frustrations with other suppliers' communications or timekeeping, working with JB was a refreshing change. I would definitely recommend to anyone needing work done.

A company that fails to comply with the law

This trader, if things go wrong will play the blame game and ignore their responsibilities within the law. Engineer attended at the property to inspect combi boiler, engineer called the boiler manufacturer for advice and decided that boiler was repairable. The following day I agreed a price of £857 to fix. Engineer attended to fit new parts but the repair failed. The boiler acted in exactly the same way as it did prior to attempt repair For the following 3 days argued with this company but they refused to re attend (breach of Consumer Rights Act 2015 Sec 55) and firmly blamed the boiler manufactures advice. They left me with no hot water or heating in sub zero temperatures !!!!. It took me to threaten them with court action in order to get my £450 deposit back, bad diagnosis by their engineer and fitting of parts not needed. During email exchanges the parts were quoted as £267 which means that this company actually charges £200 + per hour for labour which is 2 x national average.

I contacted this company last week obtained a quote and was surprised that they could do it this week and that it would only take a couple of days. I had by boiler changed to a combi boiler so all pipe work had to be removed plus pump for shower and new pipe work added to boiler. They have done a superb job and my house has never been so warm. True to their word it only took two days. I also had my radiators flushed and filter put on which protects the new boiler. I highly recommend this company.

We contacted JB Plumbing after weeks of frustration with two other plumbing companies who were struggling to investigate a suspected leak behind our radiator. The service we received from JB Plumbing was great from start to finish, they were very helpful on the phone and took the time to understand what we needed and to book a plumber to attend our property at a time that suited us. They also kept us informed when the plumber was running late on the day. The plumber who attended was very helpful and professional, he didn't waste any time and investigated the issue straight away, as opposed to the other two companies who we had worked with before. Unfortunately the plumber wasn't able to find the leak as it wasn't coming from a pipe, but he was very helfpul and took the time to explain everything to us in simple and clear terms, and provided us with advice on what we may want to do next to explore the issue further. He made sure to tidy up and clean everything up at the end, and we received an invoice with a report of the work carried out shortly after the visit. Although we couldn't get the issue fixed, we're still pleased with the service received and will likely work with JB Plumbing & Heating again in the future.

I made a request for someone to check if my boiler and sink were leaking, as my water bills kept going up. John was able to come out the next day (I thought that I might have to wait some time, so a next day appointment impressed me) and within half an hour he had identified a leak under my sink, AND in the boiler, and ALSO identified that the thermostats in my boiler were not working properly. He was extremely friendly and professional, and explained clearly in detail what the issues were and what he was going to do. Having diagnosed the issues, I was given a quote - which was exactly what I paid at the end of the job - no extras. Again, he was extremely friendly, thorough and professional. I know that this work will bring down my water bills by half, AND, unexpectedly, as the thermostats have also been replaced, my electricity bills will come down too! Sent an email to JB plumbing and heating, they responded quickly, Sam in the office was lovely and communicated straight away, I explained my elderly uncle had a leak inside the house and was very worried. JB plumbing and heating installed two new radiators for me. I had had other traders tell me it would be difficult because I wanted one of them moved to another wall. John went to the trouble to explain what could be done, how it could be done and any further work that would be required. They ordered the radiators and did the work over the next couple of weeks. Everything was done to the agreed schedule and quote. Everybody involved was a pleasure to deal with and communication throughout was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I noticed a leak a day or so before Christmas and needed an emergency plumber urgently. J B Plumbing were great. Sam in the office got back to me within an hour or so; and was happy to communicate by email which made things easy and smooth with no waiting on phones. A couple of hours later Danny the plumber arrived on schedule as promised. He identified the location of the problem fairly quickly, discussed options for access as it was located in a very difficult to reach area, and was happy to go with the option I chose. After the fix, Danny explained the problem, answered my questions and also pointed out some previously concealed and inaccessible shut off valves. He was friendly, efficient and did a clean neat job. Most of all, I had water over Christmas which was the best present I could have hoped for! Would use again and recommend. Thank you.
