I don't normally leave reviews, but felt Jim did a really good job. He was very helpful and explained the various options I had in full. I asked him to do some additional work we hadn't agreed in advance, he had the parts in his van and did to a high standard. Also, I asked for some advice on a badly fitted uPVC door round the back. Jim re-adjusted the door on the spot and its now good as new Overall I found him to be very trustworthy and meticulous and would be more than happy to use him again.

Jim responded very promptly to my enquiry and turned up at the agreed time to change the lock on my uPVC door. He offered the option of mending the gears instead of replacing, which would have been a cheaper option, however I decided to go for a replacement as a longer term solution. I have no hesitation in recommending JF Locksmiths. The service was excellent as well as competitively priced.

Door lock replacement. I phoned with my request. He asked for an emailed photo, and he soon visited, arriving promptly at the agreed time. He was fully prepared. I contacted J F Locksmith early one morning about adding a secure lock to a side passage door. I was asked to email photos of the door and had a quote within minutes. Work started the same morning but the old door proved to be problematic. After careful thought an alternative solution was devised which overcame the problems perfectly. By the end of the same morning the work was completed to a high standard and we had a much improved side door.

I had a tricky situation where I needed to gain access to my property in fairly short order. Jim was extremely helpful, reasonable and courteous. He responded to my initial phone call and kept in touch via text with detailed arrangements. Jim told me how much it would cost and came immediately as I couldn't close my front door at all. He was courteous and explained everything he was doing. A church door 126 years old with a snapped off key in one of the locks nearly 30 years old. We needed the door open, working and secure. Jim was able to come out straight away on a Saturday morning, in fact we had to put him back slightly to give us time receive him. Snapped Keys in the lock can be difficult, but the broken piece was out within minutes. With this sorted, Jim then moved on to make sure that the locks worked correctly and were correctly aligned for smooth operation. Being very old doors, they were slightly warped and the one side of the door had slightly dropped a little. Both of the door lock holding plates were removed, lowered and countersunk better to prevent the locking mechanisms from catching or sticking. This involved chiseling out the door frame. So one broken key removed (original remit), Two holding plates repositioned and countersunk, two locks re-lubricated and checked for working operation and all for the same price and quoted for the original remit. Absolutely Fantastic! No hidden charges! Thank you J F Locksmiths.

Jim came out at short notice to see if he could resolve an issue with my elderly mother's uPVC porch door. It turned out to be an issue with the uPVC door and surrounding structure rather than a lock or adjustment issue, but Jim spent time checking it out and advising us. He also came out as soon as he could, which we appreciated.

Jim replaced two locks with high security cyclinders promptly and efficiently, offering to come out the same day as I called. He also agreed to look into our garage door mechanism free of charge, advising the best course of action in his honest opinion, with details of others to contact only if we choose to. Jim also offered to straighten our front door freely, a job he did not have to do and explained how to do this for ourselves in the future, a kind and thoughtful gesture of someone who takes pride in their work. James arrived quickly to repair the conservatory door when I had a problem locking it. The problem was identified and repaired without the need for buying a new mechanism which would have cost a lot more and James felt it wasn't necessary . He was friendly polite, efficient and explained the cause of the problem, he explained the pricing which I felt was reasonable and I was satisfied by the work and hopefully the problem will not reoccur but James has given me his contact details just in case. I would use this service again, I would also recommend him.

Jim from J.F Locksmiths is hands down one of the most reliable and friendly people we have had come out to carry out some work on our patio doors. Highly recommended. Jim came on time to replace the yale lock on our front door. He was neat and tidy, gave lots of advice and did a great job. He was very helpful, and I would definitely use him again.

A window lock failed during an evening thunderstorm and then to make matters worse the patio doors proved difficult to lock! So after a worrying night we contacted JF Locksmiths through Which Trusted Traders at 8.30 in the morning. At 11.00 Jim arrived and rapidly identified the problem with the window lock and replaced the key parts. He then turned his attention to the patio doors. Over the course of the next hour he tenaciously tracked down and sorted out several issues with the doors. Without his experience and meticulous work we could have been in serious trouble. He explained all issues as they arose and left us with doors and window locks which will now do service for some years to come. Add to this a pleasant demeanour and you couldn't wish for better service. The price: a fraction of what I expected!

Needed locks changed fast when car got stolen. JF locksmiths answered straight away and arrived in 45 mins. Had all the equipment on the van (including old style locks I hadn't warned him about). Price was fair and service was efficient. Highly recommend!
