About
Switch Green Electrical is a Forest Hill based domestic electrical company run by Joel Buckwell. Switch Green Electrical specialises in small electrical tasks, consumer unit replacements and electrical repairs. Joel first became an electrician in 2003 and has been a sole trader since 2011. He runs his business on honesty and reliability. All work undertaken is carried out to the latest BS7671 standards.
'All Hands and Hearts' are a non profit volunteer based organisation that helps rebuild and improve areas in the aftermath of a natural disaster anywhere in the world. Joel has first hand experience working for them as a volunteer in Nepal, Peru and offers them electrical advice & guidance to keep their projects and volunteers safe.
The value of the redundant and excess cable collected from jobs undertaken is donated to All Hands And Hearts. Redundant cable usually gets thrown in the skip but here it is scrapped, recycled and the cash is donated to help disaster struck communities get rebuilt

I have used Joel a couple of times before so went straight to him when I needed a double socket added to my new place. He responded quickly, and even though its a relatively small job he was happy to help, giving his advice on what would work best for us. He fitted the plug and left the place clean and tidy as always. Thoroughly reliable and trustworthy. Whenever I have any electrical work needed, I will always use Joel for peace of mind and full confidence in his work.

I have used Joel several times for various different jobs. He is always on time, communicative, efficient and professional. On top of that he's a very friendly, nice guy and clearly explains what he's going to do and why, including any potential issues he may encounter, so that you have a good understanding of the situation. Joel made a return visit to us, having previously replaced all our light fittings with LED units, which he made a great job of. There was an issue with a faulty dimmer switch, which he repaired very quickly. As before, good and prompt communication, friendly and efficient service, excellent value. We would not hesitate to use Switch Green again.

Joel relocated a light, put new heavy lights in and sorted out a faulty switch. He took a lot of care over the work and was super knowledgeable and friendly. Further to completion I had a clear invoice in line with the original quote and a separate NICEIC installation certificate from NICEIC via email for my records. Very professional, trustworthy, would recommend anytime.

We initially asked Joel to connect our garden room to the house’s electrical supply. We were pleased enough with the service that we also hired him to install a bathroom extractor, doorbell, and 1st and 2nd fix on our kitchen. I particularly liked that the quotes given were clear, and we always knew which materials were included. Communication and scheduling was done very well too. It was also appreciated that Joel would point out any opportunities to reuse materials, so as to minimise waste. I don’t have any hesitation recommending Joel.

Joel was brilliant. He replaced the lights under our kitchen cabinets and fitted our new oven. He gave us excellent advice on the kind of lights to fit. Fitting the oven was more complicated than it should have been because the previous oven had been fitted without a backplate. Joel had the necessary parts in his van and had the oven fitted and tested quickly and smoothly. Joel took away the oven and cabling to be recycled. He worked very efficiently, and his prices are very reasonable. A pleasure to do business with.
