About
Switch Green Electrical is a Forest Hill based domestic electrical company run by Joel Buckwell. Switch Green Electrical specialises in small electrical tasks, consumer unit replacements to full house rewires. Joel first became an electrician in 2003 and has been a sole trader since 2011. He runs his business on honesty and reliability. All work undertaken is carried out to the latest BS7671 standards.
'All Hands and Hearts' are a non profit volunteer based organisation that helps rebuild and improve areas in the aftermath of a natural disaster anywhere in the world. Joel has first hand experience working for them as a volunteer in Nepal, Peru and offers them electrical advice & guidance to keep their projects and volunteers safe.
The value of the redundant and excess cable collected from jobs undertaken is donated to All Hands And Hearts. Redundant cable usually gets thrown in the skip but here it is scrapped, recycled and the cash is donated to help disaster struck communities get rebuilt

I have been highly impressed in my dealings with Joel Work done: *fault finding of power sockets and remedy *Add USB sockets *advise and fit fire and smoke detector alarms *fault finding chronic problem with ceiling light fitting *Advice re new ceiling light and fit. The quote process was a pleasant experience. Joel respectfully listened, appreciated and took on board my comments. The work was carried out efficiently at the agreed schedule and cost. It was a pleasure to have Joel work in my home. Everything works so haven't needed to call on aftercare which was offered.

Joel conducted an EICR in our flat and fixed the issues that were uncovered, this included replacing the consumer unit, changing the wires of ceiling lights and replacing sockets. The work was completed on time and within budget. Joel explained everything that needed to be done and answered our questions in details.

Joel carried out a range of electrical tasks of varied complexity (new features, replacing items, improving safety and sorting out a disorganised system) over 5 days with skill and professionalism. He is personable, hardworking, methodical and helpful, eg advising an external light fitting we were to buy wasn’t suitable. We are delighted to have a safer installation which meets current regulations as well as some super new light fittings.

Joel has been helping rewire our house since we moved in - changing light fixtures, installing extractor fans and doing EICR and moving lights. A number of new sockets installed, some sockets and switches upgraded/replaced, and ceiling lights affixed. Joel was friendly and respectful, with good communication all round. Original quote exceeded a little due to some unforeseen challenges, but all fair and agreeable. Would recommend highly.

I chose Switch Green Electrical because it was local to me. When Joel came to do the job we had a problem with the power to the outside light so another solution was needed.
