About
Armour Home Improvements Ltd is a family-run window and door company based in Ayr, with a showroom at 38 Crown Street where customers can see our products in person.
We supply and install uPVC, aluminium and timber windows, sliding sash windows, and composite, uPVC, French and bi-fold doors. We also repair existing double glazing and carry out conservatory roof replacements, roofline and GRP flat roofs.
Our director, John McCulloch, has over 20 years' experience in the industry, including years as a service engineer putting right other companies' faulty installations. Every job starts with a no-pressure survey and a clear written quote, followed by a detailed technical resurvey before anything is ordered. Our own team carries out the installation.
We are a VEKA Approved Installer, and our double glazing comes with a 10-year QANW insurance-backed guarantee.
We cover Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Kilmarnock, Irvine, Girvan and across Ayrshire, including Arran, and take on selected projects in Glasgow.

John and his team fitted 5 windows for us. It was all completed in one day and the quality of work was superb. From the first visit of John coming out to give us a quote to completion he was very proffessional without the hard sale and he delivered a first class service. We will definitely be using John and team for more work that we are getting done. A very big Thank You for a job well done....

John and his team re-slabbed a damaged path and steps in my garden. They also removed an old concrete area and slabbed it. at the rear of my house they fitted a drain, fixed a damaged wall and fitted a gutter. All the work was done quickly and in a tidy manner. I am so impressed i have already asked John for quotes for more work needing done. Highly recommended.

I have used John about 5 or 6 times now for various replacement doors & windows. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else now, all the boxes are ticked every time: reliable, friendly, trustworthy, excellent workmanship, good price, leaves a tidy worksite once job completed etc. Always willing to advise on the best product for me, not necessarily the easiest / most profitable option for him. Just had an old window replaced with patio doors in kitchen & couldn’t be happier with the fit & finish.

I've had lots of work done by John over the years. Our first job was to have the double glazing replaced back in 2015. Since then we've had French doors fitted, new internal doors fitted, the whole roof-line of the house done. His workmanship, cleanliness and efficiency is top class, I would absolutely recommend him to anybody. I've never had a bunch of guys so clean and hard-working, everything went smoothly every time. When they came to do one job recently they even gave my old window a service which was an extra bonus. My family have also used him and all very pleased. It is hard to find a decent trader these days so I will definitely continue using him.
