Had a front multipoint door lock that was increasingly prone to jamming. The locksmith was able to fit me in just before I was going on holiday, determined the lock was jamming from many years of accumulated dirt, and reassembled it so it worked smoother than it had ever been before.

I requested Daniel to look at my kitchen door as the lock had become very noisy and the spring in the handle appeared to have failed I was happy for Daniel to order a new handle to fit as it seemed the easiest solution to the problem Daniel kept in touch from my very first contact and turned up today exactly as agreed and exactly on time Daniel is very personable and highly professional and having dismantled the handle felt that he could fix the problem without the additional expense and delay associated with obtaining the appropriate replacement. The repair was effected with no fuss and Daniel ensured that I was completely happy with the result before leaving. This is a wonderful man who acts with total professionalism as standard. Needed a locksmith to sort out issues with our front and back door (both non-emergency but would have become one had we left them). Never quite know who you're contacting from online research - also an extra layer of potential concern when you are talking locks which are protecting you and your belongings but as a subscriber to Which? magazine myself and reading the previous reviews on local trader Just Carpentry & Locks decided it looked good and called up. Daniel immediately came across as personable and professional. He visited the property to look at what we needed then sent through a quotation for the work. Having decided it was fair value we accepted and a time to do the work was soon arranged. Daniel arrived on time and carried out the work efficiently and effectively, having to spend extra time persevering with the back door which proved challenging. Appreciate not everyone is concerned about the personality of the individual who is doing a job for you but it does matter to us and I'm happy to say Daniel focuses both on the job itself and the customer, ensuring that we were happy with the work that had been done before he left and talking to us about the warranty that goes with it. Daniel came out today after fitting a new door lock in Sep 2019, which seemed to have developed a fault. He promptly responded to the inquiry on Whatsapp and arrived at the agreed-upon time. He swiftly identified the issue (which was unrelated to the new lock he had installed) and resolved it without charging any additional fee. His service was excellent and friendly. Thank you.

They provided a consultation for the installation of a new snap-proof front door lock combined with a digital locking mechanism. Daniel understood the requirements and was able to provide knowledgeable and practical advice. Following a very reasonable estimate, Daniel fitted the required hardware, calibrated the mechanism and explained the use of the new lock very clearly. Daniel visited at the agreed time, and suggested the change of locks needed. He then quickly submitted a quote and a date and time to undertake the work. He arrived exactly as agreed and completed the changes of locks efficiently, and courteously. Two inherited key safes with unknown combinations were either expertly opened or removed with the minimum of fuss. Daniel is obviously an expert locksmith, and a very pleasant individual to boot.

Daniel Herbert was engaged to repair a door that had stuck shut. He took a look and offered a written quote. The job turned out to be tricky as the lock had disintegrated in the door. He stuck with it and tried all sorts of ways to open the door before replacing the lock. Many others would have given up but he persevered and eventually, after many hours he fixed the door completely. I have no hesitation in recommending him for his diligence his professionalism and more importantly his positive attitude. It gave me confidence and I will definitely be using him again.

Upon contacting Just Carpentry and Locks via their website, from a link on Which. Daniel asked questions via email to assess issue I had and gave advice to try before incurring costs. Arrived on time. Used a protective mat and and wore face mask without asking if needed. (I have had some trades ask if needed). Gave initial written quote of job. Then once lock taken apart gave two options in writing with cost for me to decide before work completed. Work completed efficiently and professionally, taking time to check and adjust the lock and door. Work guaranteed for 12 months. I would use Daniel again and highly recommend him.

I contacted Just Carpentry & Locks with a problem this afternoon and after establishing what the fault was and its remedy, to replace the locking mechanism, (and price quote, £165) Daniel has been and gone and done the job as promised. Fitted new front door handles. Good job done, fairly quickly and as per quote. Very friendly and good communication.

Dan was very helpful and advised me what I need to need, took a couple of photos of the lock to see what needs replacing. After giving a fair price, he fitted the locks a couple of days later. Was pleased with his work and gave him more work the following week. Would recommend to everyone.

Normal methods for removing a stuck key had failed so I decided to try a member of the Master Locksmiths Association. Daniel responded quickly and from the start clearly had excellent knowledge and experience of the unusual key wind up security mechanism. He approached the situation with thought, care and skill and patiently resolved the problem. I am not easily impressed by tradesmen today and seldom feel a recommendation is justified but my experience was that Daniel's work is outstanding.
