Contacted LKT to review electrical work that might need doing in house that we bought, + add new sockets. Told rewire not necessary, booked to add the new sockets etc, before moving in. On arrival, they discovered complete rewire necessary, at further cost of ~£6k. No real choice other than to commission the work. Work due to take 7-8 days, but took several weeks to complete. Probs: they cut through heating water pipe + left us without water/heating over a weekend. Damaged our property trying to stem the leak, tried to hide it. When asked, denied knowledge, but replaced property. One electrician did not like being questioned about the work by family member asked by us to find out status of works when we were away. Family member told us electrician squared up to them. We were extremely upset by this and requested that electrician did not return. Lost thermostat and doorbell wires, provided replacements, but would rather have kept originals. Lost thermostat wire not communicated to us, resulted in a lot of wasted time and heating engineer being called. Invoice for heating engineer paid by LKT. Isolator fan mis-wired, work redone twice. Cracked new tiles in kitchen when tightening screws. Invoiced paid by LKT. Lot of rubbish left. Walls damaged, general lack of care and respect. Owner gave a discount by £250 after several complaints, but small % of ~£8k, did not make up for miserable experience and impact on other works. Felt they were living off past reputation.
