About

Paul started Lock Assist in 2003 after working as a master locksmith for over 20 years. We are an Approved Company of the Master Locksmiths Association so if you need expert advice and help from time served, experienced locksmiths who know how to pick locks open if you're locked out, we are the ones to call, 24 hours a day.

Tricky locks? Difficult doors? Catchy keys? If your locks and doors start playing up and they're getting really difficult to use - maybe the key's stiff to turn or the door's not closing properly - it's always best to get the problem resolved before it gets worse.

But you needn't despair. We sort out these sorts of problems daily and with the minimum of fuss and delay. Me and my daughter(rush hour school run) were locked out leaving the door keys in the keyhole on the inner side. I called Lock Assist and the gentleman arrived in 10mins and opened the door using his 007 contraption. We were very relieved and would highly recommend Lock Assist.

I called last thing on a Thursday evening - didn't need urgent help, just our front door handle was behaving strangely - but still working and locking OK. They asked me to email over my details and pictures of the door handle, which I did. They called me Friday morning and arranged to attend at a time convenient to me. Turned up, unscrewed the door handle, gave the springs in it a quick cleaning spray, put it back on, and everything is back to normal. They were only here a couple of minutes, so didn't charge me. Hence leaving them a lovely review. They were helpful on the phone, got back to me quickly, and both the guys who arrived were friendly. They even showed me exactly what to do if it happens again. I'll definitely be keeping their number in my phone and using them when we have a genuine lock problem.

I have used Lock Assist previously to realign my patio doors which were not closing properly. Paul did a fantastic job on those so I called them back - this time to look at some windows which either wouldn't shut easily or the handles had become very stiff. This time both Paul and Carl turned up and between them did another great job. No hesitation in recommending this company.

Just a few hours after contacting Lock Assist Carl arrived to fit a new lock to our patio doors. Unfortunately, this proved to be a complex issue which could not be immediately resolved. Undeterred, Carl returned the next day to fit further new parts but was still not satisfied with the result. Further visits, this time accompanied by Paul, were made until things were working properly. In the meantime the guys undertook the replacement of handles on our front door, which again proved challenging, but in the end was resolved perfectly. Their commitment to achieving a solution they were satisfied with, let alone the customer, was remarkable. Despite the difficulties, and the need for return visits, they remained friendly and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble. This level of service is, unfortunately, rare these days and Lock Assist is to be highly commended. I will use them again without hesitation.

I called Lock Assist Ltd at 16.45 on a weekday afternoon as I was suddenly unable to lock my front door. The phone was answered by Karl who immediately reassured me that they’d be able to help. I emailed some photos across of my door and by 17.00 Karl had arrived at my home. He was quickly able to identify and rectify the problem. I cannot recommend Lock Assist more highly. Friendly, knowledgable and professional and deserve this recognition of their excellent service. Thank you Karl.

Took two old interior door locks and two modern lever handles into company’s workshop. As suggested, liaised by telephone to ensure locksmith would be in workshop when I visited. Locks and handles all required new springs (as I thought they would). All springs, were fitted rapidly and expertly. Staff a pleasure to deal with both face-to-face and by telephone.

We got back from an overnight stay to find our house keys were still in the hotel room! A quick call to Lock Assist and within an hour we were indoors. Paul opened the lock without damaging it and did a quick maintenance upkeep on it before leaving. Quoted cost was the cost paid. Highly recommend them.
