About

Paul started Lock Assist in 2003 after working as a master locksmith for over 20 years. We are an Approved Company of the Master Locksmiths Association so if you need expert advice and help from time served, experienced locksmiths who know how to pick locks open if you're locked out, we are the ones to call, 24 hours a day.

Tricky locks? Difficult doors? Catchy keys? If your locks and doors start playing up and they're getting really difficult to use - maybe the key's stiff to turn or the door's not closing properly - it's always best to get the problem resolved before it gets worse.

But you needn't despair. We sort out these sorts of problems daily and with the minimum of fuss and delay. I contacted Lock Assist as we couldn’t use our front door. I messaged early in the morning on social media and had an appointment confirmed the next day. I had to contact to change due to family emergency and Paul was so kind and understanding, flexible and simply changed it despite short notice. The job was more complex than initially thought, but honoured the quote. Highly recommend. Good old fashioned local, personalised service.

Repair to door lock and replace door handles

The locking mechanism of our double-glazed front-door had failed. This was replaced using parts ‘on the van’. As we were impressed by the service, we took the opportunity to have the handles and plates replaced on another door. Perfect work, nice people.

Front Door chaos

Our front door mortice lock jammed, called Lock Assist, they arrived in 45 mins, started immediately and managed to open the door and access the lock. They got it working within minutes and refitted the lock. Excellent service, then we asked them to look at the patio door lock and they happily moved on to dismantle and totally repair the rusted door lock mechanism. Brilliant workmanship.

You must have the tightest fitting door in the world but still opens and closes! However, we managed to manipulate the lock to get the door open and check that the lock was ok and made some small adjustments. Thank you for your great review. Regards,

We were locked out, with keys left in the lock inside our house.

Today we closed our front door, leaving the keys in the lock on the inside of the door. Our daughter called Lock Assist, within 30 minutes Paul arrived and promptly managed to get us into our home. He advised to think about changing the lock mechanism to prevent this happening again. We asked him to go ahead with the suggested new system, whilst fitting this he noticed a problem with triple the lock alignment brackets, he rectified the problem at no extra charge. I would highly recommend Lock Assist, excellent service at a very competitive price.

Me and my daughter(rush hour school run) were locked out leaving the door keys in the keyhole on the inner side. I called Lock Assist and the gentleman arrived in 10mins and opened the door using his 007 contraption. We were very relieved and would highly recommend Lock Assist.

Fixed my front door handle free of charge

I called last thing on a Thursday evening - didn't need urgent help, just our front door handle was behaving strangely - but still working and locking OK. They asked me to email over my details and pictures of the door handle, which I did. They called me Friday morning and arranged to attend at a time convenient to me. Turned up, unscrewed the door handle, gave the springs in it a quick cleaning spray, put it back on, and everything is back to normal. They were only here a couple of minutes, so didn't charge me. Hence leaving them a lovely review. They were helpful on the phone, got back to me quickly, and both the guys who arrived were friendly. They even showed me exactly what to do if it happens again. I'll definitely be keeping their number in my phone and using them when we have a genuine lock problem.
