Locksmith Services is a family business established in 2009, based in Harpenden and covering Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire. We're a father and son team, Larry started locksmithing in 2005 and Dean his son started in 2015 after becoming a qualified carpenter.
Locksmith Services are open 24/7 for emergencies and aim to get to you within 30 minutes of your call where possible. We can supply and fit door and window locks to British standard and insurance requirements.
If you need a locksmith in Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire because you want your locks upgraded for extra security, locks changed or repaired then at Locksmiths Services we have the experience, expertise and the equipment that the job requires.
We do not charge a call-out fee or charge hourly. We charge a set labour fee plus the cost of any parts that may be required.

One of my locks had begun to be temperamental so I contacted Larry - his son Dean came the same day, checked it over and fitted a new lock immediately. He did a very neat job and was able to provide a lock with 6 keys which means I don’t have to get more cut myself. It works perfectly and is of high quality.

The door key broke in the lock and it quickly became apparent that I needed a professional! After a quick search of local companies I called Locksmith Services Ltd. I was so glad I did!! Responded really quickly to our cry for help. Good communication and quick response. Our door handle had fallen apart and we were unable to open the door from the inside. He suggested I send photos to help him understand the problem. He turned up at the agreed time and fixed the door then and there, using stock from his van. Very courteous and friendly. Explained the problem really clearly and what he had done to fix it.

Called this company to fix a PVC outside rear door whose lock had given up the ghost and was stuck, apparently permanently, in the locked position. They turned up promptly at the time arranged. The problem was quickly diagnosed and I was given options for various remedial actions. The technician was very helpful and explained why and what had to be done. He was also friendly and cleaned up after the work, all of which was done inside an hour. I can recommend this company highly.

Great family business with a well-deserved stellar reputation locally. Both Larry and Dean were helpful, professional, and polite. Efficient in their work, and very fairly priced. Larry came to fix our door after it was blocked half open and half shut - we couldn't open it or close it properly and nothing we did was helping. This was the second time I have used this firm for locksmith services. Very helpful from the first phone call and rates/ costs were clearly stated upfront. Punctuality is good and communication between visits (parts needed to be ordered) was excellent. We had an upstairs window which we were unable to fully close - Dean was able to identify the issue and new hinges were ordered and he and Larry came back for the installation. Now I have a fully functioning window again! I will always use this firm for any further issues going forward and feel happy to recommend them.

Shut door with key in lock on inside. First two calls to other companies were cumbersome, expensive and hours of waiting time. Third call to Dean definitely saved the day. Visited house without my being there, left the key in agreed safe place. Sent me pictures of job completed within one hour. Had a problem with a number of door-locks within the house, including a wooden frames bi-fold door. Dean was able to schedule a visit within 24 hours. Dean quickly assessed and identified root cause of the issues, explained all, then made necessary changes at a very reasonable price.
