Locksmith Services is a family business established in 2009, based in Harpenden and covering Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire. We're a father and son team, Larry started locksmithing in 2005 and Dean his son started in 2015 after becoming a qualified carpenter.
Locksmith Services are open 24/7 for emergencies and aim to get to you within 30 minutes of your call where possible. We can supply and fit door and window locks to British standard and insurance requirements.
If you need a locksmith in Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire because you want your locks upgraded for extra security, locks changed or repaired then at Locksmiths Services we have the experience, expertise and the equipment that the job requires.
We do not charge a call-out fee or charge hourly. We charge a set labour fee plus the cost of any parts that may be required.

With locks it's almost always an emergency. At the end of an afternoon, I feared that I would have to wait until the next day. So being told that Dean would be with me in two minutes was amazing and true. Dean tried to put the old lock back into service but age and poor maintenance meant that a new lock was the only solution. A great service.

Our front door multi-point lock had jammed and we were no longer able to lock it. We contacted Locksmith Services and had a visit from Dean within the same day. He was polite and professional and quickly identified the issue - he explained the problem and made the necessary repairs straight away and left the lock as good as new. He was very knowledgable and even gave us some useful tips on how to maintain the lock to avoid similar problems in future. The fee was very reasonable and we would certainly use them again for any other similar issues.

I contacted Locksmith services one day and they were able to visit the next day. A smartly dressed young man appeared at the time arranged and after explaining what we wanted he explained what he was going today and how it would work. Dean, the young man, impressed us with his knowledge and efficiency and Impressive service. The cost was agreeable too.

Dean arrived promptly at the agreed time. Smartly dressed and polite. He got straight on with investigating the problem of a window missing its key, and after some experimentation solved it. He left us with two keys and we were very satisfied. He kindly gave us a modest discount on our bill, perhaps because the job only took him about ten minutes and he could see that we were tottering pensioners. We would certainly call him again if we had something that required the attention of a locksmith.

Our front door had a problem that made opening after activating the double lock very difficult. Dean came out within two hours, removed the mechanism on the frame which required several screws to be drilled out, refixed the door strip and the door now works perfectly. Excellent customer service - fully recommended.

Our door lock broke. Dean was quick to respond to my request for help. He’s a lovely, approachable guy and I felt I could trust him straight away. It took a while to get the necessary parts (not his fault) but he kept in close contact with me throughout so I knew exactly what was going on. He came to finish the job as soon as the necessary parts arrived. He’s a perfectionist, so didn’t leave until all was fixed perfectly. Reasonably priced as well. All in all, a pleasure to deal with!

My elderly housebound mum's key-safe stopped working. This is used by her carers to get in. I called in the morning, and as it had already been repaired once, asked for a replacement, and chose a different type, which would be less likely to fail. It was fitted the same day, I was kept informed of progress, they even set the code to be the same as the old one. Excellent efficient service at an acceptable price, I'd definitely recommend them.

The lock unexpectedly fell off our front door. Dean attended very promptly, assessed the problem, reviewed the options with us, made a suggestion for temporarily securing the door, ordered the brass lock we had decided on and had it fitted within a couple of days. We were impressed that he attended masked on both occasions. This is a courteous and effective service I thoroughly recommend.

Dean arrived promptly when we snapped a key in the side gate lock. He not only retrieved the broken end but also carried out an assessment of the gate and lock, adjusting it for a better fit. I called the company on Monday morning 5th July to book a visit. it was not an urgent fix but within a couple of hours Larry came around, diagnosed the problem, magically opened the back door, he had to get the correct part and came back early afternoon fitted the part. Door now works better than it has done for a long time. Brilliant service, price was very good. Well recommended.

We used this company several years ago and still had the number in our book. We rang and the Son came out straight away. He fixed our two immediate problems within 20 minutes making the house secure. We then asked him to look at all our window locks. He examined all of them and clearly explained the options. We chose to renew a number of locks and Dean came back two days later and fitted them. Dean is a very nice young man. Polite, efficient and trustworthy.

The first day I climbed through the window believing the problem with the lock was mine. The second day it was raining and I realised the lock was at fault and the only open window was the bathroom, out of my reach! The response from locksmith was within 15 minutes and despite the challenge they managed to solve the problem within the hour enabling me to keep an appointment. Both staff members are very courteous and a pleasure to deal with.

I have been unable to open to door on my long case Grand-Father Clock for over 60 years. (the winding mechanism is accessed via the clock face). Larry was able to access the lock and make a new key. After a house move I needed to change the locks and add window locks to several windows. I was given a price on my initial call so no surprises when the bill came.
