For some time we have been working towards replacing some sash windows in our large mid-Victorian semi-detached house so as to reduce draft, make some rooms warmer, make window opening easier and hopefully safe some energy cost. After visits by several companies, it was clear from the start that LBS offered a more personalised service and listened more carefully to what we actually wanted. They were the only company to offer sash-only replacement and the only one to point out that full frame replacement would cause problems where the window frame was integrated with shutters and a plaster cornice. All the pre-installation contact was great, with a very detailed on-site discussion of all the different options. A very detailed specification/estimate was sent for checking, and then a second survey by the fitting expert to iron out the last few potential glitches. The two fitters were brilliant, changing 8 windows in 4 days, arriving promptly for a 7.30am start, and meticulously clearing up dust and rubbish to leave the house in a very good state each day. On the final evening we immediately noticed the reduction in noise and draught, and the increased warmth. We would not hesitate to use LBS again and to recommend them to others. High quality full replacement of sash windows is not cheap, but we feel that we have installed an excellent product that has greatly enhanced the comfort of our home, that will last for many years, and that has increased its eventual sale value.

Very high quality windows. They make a massive insulation/ sound difference. The company is properly professional and easy to deal with. That is all great. Having originally wanted one replacement sash window, we were so impressed with the quality of the one we ordered, we went on to order four more. The build quality , insulation and acoustic properties are excellent, and the style fits perfectly into our early Edwardian house. The service was always courteous, communication precise and regular, and the fitting itself carried out with great care and consideration. Got 4 windows installed by these guys almost 5 years ago. Needed two more windows but unfortunately they don't do these kind of windows anymore so I ordered somewhere. The whole process from start to finish was excellent and the estimating installing and payment process was first class. The two large sash windows installed in our 1904 Edwardian house are very good indeed and the panes move up and down so smoothly and effortlessly. Already notice a huge difference in heat retention and noise attenuation. What more can I say except to mention our installer who single-handed put up and took down the huge dust curtains, set up a small workshop and in between installed the box sashes and touched up the paintwork. We are in the process of ‘future-proofing’ our home - let’s face it, with the rising cost of utilities, this is fast becoming a priority. We live in a flat in an old Victorian house with large, single-glazed, sash windows, several of which needed replacing, but deciding what with, was always going to be tricky; plastic windows would obviously be cheaper, but wouldn’t be in keeping with the house and so we looked around at who was making wood sash windows. There is no doubt that this is an expensive route to take, but given how long they last once they’re in, to not do it right first time seemed a false economy. I knew my windows and French Doors needed replacing to halt water penetration but the thought of work and mess of 2 large bay windows and doors being replaced filled me with dread. It need not have. From the initial measuring up, quote and work being carried out, the process was smooth. More so the work itself. This is now the second time I have purchased windows from London Box Sash. The first window was two years ago and it still looks brand new. London Box Sash Windows replaced 6 single glazed windows in our Victorian terrace in Herne Hill with new double glazed wooden sash windows. They were the most competitive and transparent of the 3 quotes we got and the whole process was seamless from start to finish. From the initial visit from Jake, through the booking and billing process with Judith, we were impressed with their prompt responses and helpful attitude. The lead time we were given was spot on and, once we were given a date for the work to start, this did not slip. Audrius, who carried out the work, was hardworking, punctual, efficient and left the house spotless each evening. We couldn’t believe the quality of his work. We barely needed any touching up work from the decorator we had booked to help us afterwards. 6 windows were replaced and decorated in only 4 days, with minimum mess and disruption. I can only echo all the favourable comments in the other reviews for London Box Sash Windows. Our job was a replacement of sash windows and French doors at the rear of the house in Belsize Park (built-in 1860), including two very large windows (ceiling height is 12ft 6 inches). The job was done super efficiently in only two and a half days with the guys arriving on the dot each day. The finished result is immaculate and an exact copy of the old original sash windows. During the job the working area was fully isolated by a polythene 'tent' - so no dust spreading everywhere and all left neat and tidy each day. Thanks also to the friendly office staff and the original estimator - very easy to deal with. So, overall full marks - we're looking forward to a much cosier winter!

After much research we chose London Box Sash Windows to do the bespoke windows and rear doors on our house in Chiswick. We chose them as they seemed very in tune with how to match window style in older property, which ours is. Frankly after installation we were blown away by how good they looked and the attention to detail on installation and making good. Rooms already warmer! In our experience, those recommendations and reviews are accurate and well deserved. We had two large bay windows at the front of our Victorian terraced house replaced and also two smaller windows at the back. The company also installed plantation-style shutters on most of those windows. It was a big job, done right on schedule and right on budget. Judith kept us well informed prior to installation. Jasper, David, and Rafal arrived punctually and were friendly and courteous throughout the five days they were with us. Their work was carried out professionally and to a high standard. They cleaned up scrupulously at the end of each day. The sash windows that I had installed almost two years ago, still work beautifully and receive many admiring comments. We are very pleased with our new windows, which looks stunning! This is the third time we have used London Box Sash Windows and are very happy with the Company. We moved into a new flat in September and had a cold winter as the previous French doors were over a 100 years old, single glazed and poorly insulated. The new French doors installed by London Box Sash Windows have transformed our dining room in many ways. The design was made to match the Victorian character of the house and the new French doors are beautiful, they have really enhanced the room. We have instantly notice a huge improvement in soundproofing. We can't hear any noise at all when the doors are closed. We feel a lot safer, the doors are robust whereas the previous one was quite fragile and we used to worry about people breaking in. We haven't tested the impact on heating and energy consumption yet as it is the summer now, but we can no longer feel the draft that was previously coming through the old French doors, so we think we will be a lot warmer this winter. So, yes, very happy with the quality of our new French doors and also very happy with the team at London Box Sash Windows. London Box Sash Windows recently replaced all the original sash windows in our Edwardian terraced home which offered almost no insulation from noise and draughts. As the guys were working on our bay windows downstairs I sat in my bedroom on a work call. I could not stop staring at our new replacement window which had been installed the previous day, and I mailed Judith to tell her that. It's such a difference, even setting aside any notion of resale value. The benefit to the look of the property inside and out is immediate. Other benefits like energy efficiency, noise reduction, and lack of condensation seem like icing on the cake. It's as though I feel more at home just standing in a room and looking out. The guys are very considerate and do a great job keeping the mess under control. The service is not cheap, but it's very good value. I feel good having spent the money. I intend to engage them again for plantation shutters, which I'm told they can do on their installed windows without needing to measure up.

We had used London Box Sash Windows a few years ago and were very happy with the job so we called them again to change the windows of our new flat as they were very old and single glazed. We have just had seven windows replaced, including a bay window, in our (1906 built) house by London Box Sash Windows Ltd .We are absolutely thrilled with the finished work. We replaced all seven windows in our house, one of which was a bay window. We bought the 'top of the line' as we do not want to replace them again. The windows operate perfectly, the noise reduction is marked (and this was replacing secondary glazing). The fittings operate smoothly and the windows look beautiful. We cannot find a single fault in any of our dealings with London Box Sash Windows. The first meeting with Jake, who came to measure up and give us a quote, was very impressive. There was no heavy selling and he explained everything in very clear and easy to understand detail. My wife and I were very impressed by the full sized display sash window he brought with him to explain all the features. The fitters, Ramanus and Audrius, turned up on the dot every day ( beware the early starts!!) and never stopped working until they left at the end of the day. They left absolutely no mess so all we had to do each evening was to put the furniture back. Jack, Judith, Patrick and the team were amazing from start to finish. No hard sell, a fair market price and delivered on time. Ramunas and Audrius did a fabulous job installing the windows. They were hard working, friendly and cleaned up after themselves. They even fixed some of the remedial damage and poor workmanship left over from the fitting of the previous windows 25 years ago! We researched and met with various vendors over a year before selecting London Box Sash Windows Ltd to replace 5 windows in keeping with the original design of our Victorian house. What immediately struck us as different about this company was their well-mannered approach- there was no aggressive sales pitch or money off if you sign up on the spot with these guys. Instead, a young man called Jack came to see us one evening and genuinely listened to our requirements. He, took us through various alternatives to consider and made himself available whenever we needed guidance for a number of days. His brother Patrick helped us design the right kind of shutters for these windows and ordering both items from the same company resulted in substantial time and price efficiencies for us. Installations were carried out by Andy and Raf- again, couple of very fast working young individuals who did not leave any mess and was a pleasure to work with. Judith kept us right with the admin and again was a delight to deal with-always willing and able to help. Any one reading this should do their research, we are glad we did ours and came across a local honest business which was able to trump national competitors in price, carbon foot print and installation time. London Box Sash Windows Ltd just replaced all the old, drafty single glazed sash windows in our Victorian terrace 2 bed with double glazed sash windows throughout plus a casement in the kitchen. Of the four initial quotes requested, LBSW were definitely the most helpful, clearly explaining all the various options without any hard sell whatsoever. Their workmen were faultless - arrived promptly, worked solidly and left the place cleaner than they found it! As the casement window was a last minute addition, we hadn’t discussed which fasteners & stays we would prefer. We weren’t very keen on the ones that were supplied so they were exchanged without any quibbling for the ones we much preferred. The quality of the windows and woodwork is exceptional. Not only do they look great, the difference in heat retention and noise reduction is incredible. I really couldn’t recommend this company more highly, so impressed with them.

We did a complete refurbishment of our Victorian terraced house in 2017 and London Box Sash replaced all of our windows. We couldn't be happier with the result. The windows look fantastic and work so smoothly - I still get a buzz when I open the blinds in the morning and see their workmanship. Dealing with so many different tradespeople on a refurbishment of that kind, London Box Sash were head and shoulders above all the firms we encountered. They thoroughly explained the different options we had, were competitive on price, as flexible as they could be with the installation and did a wonderful job to such a high standard (we have had so many compliments). They worked quickly and efficiently and when there were tiny issues with a few things after installation they remedied them straight away. My 1901 house had draughty original sash windows with 2mm glass. I had 11 sash windows and one panel above the front door replaced. Recommended by 3 neighbours whose windows I viewed before contactiing LBSW. After suffering the trauma of hard sell by another company I was relieved by the relaxed but informative response of Jack and Patrick. After they patiently answered all my questions I was aware of each stage of the process. Jack said it would take 10-14 days and it actually took 8. Andy arrived at 7am every morning and removed and replaced 3 windows on the first day. Furniture movement was minimal and well protected. All rubbish was removed at the end of each day and the room left tidy and dust free. The bathroom window was tricky to negotiate around a basin and tiling but each stage was discussed . Andy, mindful of my privacy replaced the bathroom roller blind on the day of its fitting , not within his remit but very impressive. My design on the glass panel above the door was agreed with Jack who made every effort to get my sandblasted house number and its placement exactly as requested. Neighbours keep saying how beautiful the windows are and subsequent workmen in the house have said how high the level of workman ship is. One tiny blip with a window was fixed by Jack himself who also took photos. Security is now very efficient with various locks so I feel safe and warm with the house being much quieter. Very happy.

The whole service from beginning to end was timely, courteous, and professional. Discussing my different options was not straightforward as I was only replacing casements that needed repairing, and I received good honest advice at this stage. The process from initial consultation to instalment was great, with clear communication at each stage and London Box Sash happy to help me with any details etc. Fitting was also an excellent experience: the workman turned up on time (early in fact!), cracked on with the job, and completed all the work to a very high quality and ahead of schedule. London Box Sash were commissioned to build and replace the old wooden single glazed sash windows in our old Victorian house. I was torn between trying to give the old ones a few years of life or just getting new ones. After visiting their premises and trying out a sample of what my potential future windows could be, I knew at that point that any doubts i had were gone. The staff were great, helpful and answered all our questions and the final product is something that I marvel at every day. Will see how they fare through the winter but I'm sure that I'm going to have a cosier, draft free one. Hats off to Andy for such a great install, super tidy and knows his stuff. We’ve just had all our Victorian sash windows replaced - 9 windows, two of which are large bays. A major piece of work in a busy household of six people ranging in age from 76 to six years old. We have had seven windows and a single patio door replaced by London Box Sash over the last four months, in two batches. We could not rate London Box Sash highly enough. No hard sell, offer a high-quality product that you pay a little more for (as opposed to refurbishing existing windows, which was our original preference) but in our view, well worth the investment. Jack and Patrick clearly love what they do and made the whole experience a pleasure. They understood that new windows were a real investment for us and at no point did we ever feel we were given pressured into making a decision, and we were very patient with answering questions and their explanations. I had 4x new sash windows fitted at my flat in Balham and I can't speak highly enough about my experience with London Box Sash. From start to finish they were true professionals. Patrick and Jack did a great job measuring up and talking me through the various options, and I never felt under pressure. When it was time for the installation both their fitters (Andy & Anjelo) were first class. They protected the carpet in the entire communal hallway, dust-sheeted everywhere and when they left the flat was spotless. Great guys and never thought twice about handing them the keys. The product itself is perfect - really nicely weighted sash movement, great paint finish and I'm told the Accoya wood is incredibly durable. Patrick told me that cleaning the windows would be easy, because of the texture and quality of the Accoya, all I would need was a good quality shammy and any stains would come off with tap water. With that quality obviously comes a price, and as Jack will tell you these aren't cheap windows. Having lived with them for the last four months, the quality fully justifies the price. Ipso facto; trust received, responsibility given and taken. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend London Box Sash and their windows, which prove that a good idea, is a good idea forever. We had five windows replaced in three rooms at the back of the house. Unfortunately we do not have sash windows at the front. The whole process was completely trouble-free with Jack and Patrick gaining our confidence with their straightforward, no hard-sell approach. Judith responded promptly and Andy was great. We were away for the first couple of days so missed all the real disruption. When we came home on the third day, Andy was finishing off round the edges of the frames. We wanted the windows to be as near to the originals as possible and they are. The workmanship looks superb and-it may be our imagination -the house feels warmer already. We have no draughts and no armies of ladybirds coming in to die on the carpet! We went on the Which? recommendations and would endorse them all. The windows are not as cheap as UPVC ones but so much more attractive.

London Box Sash Windows have recently fitted to my late Victorian house a rear door to the garden, two casement windows and three sash windows. Over the years, I've had two listed houses completely renovated, and in my professional life I have led on the restoration of an important Grade II listed 1896 music school in south east London. We got several different quotes for replacing the windows in our 1930s semi detached. Jack and Patrick were recommended to us and were a head a shoulders above the rest in their customer service. Came to see us straight away and were happy to spend time working out solutions and making suggestions. Andy and Angelo came to fit the windows and did a great job. Arrived on time, worked really hard, polite, friendly, explained stuff and cleaned up after themselves each day. I really feel like they all cared about the outcome for me, the customer. Since we moved into our Victorian house three years ago, we have been working our way through replacing the existing windows which were pretty much held together by paint. We saw a number of companies initially but settled for London Box Sash Windows due to the quality of the product but also the strong sense of a family company. We have had around 14 windows replaced now over 3 stints and not had any regrets. The latest installation of two windows was completed two weeks ago. The quality is excellent and with the Accoya wood we haven't had any sticky frames or needed any other follow up adjustments. We have just had our front bay windows replaced upstairs and down. The new windows match perfectly the original Edwardian style. The estimate was competitively priced and the whole process went smoothly. Andy, the fitter, was excellent and finished the work well on time. He finished off the work meticulously and furniture was protected from dust and dirt; he cleaned up each evening and we quickly were able to put back curtains and furniture. Having been approved by Which was really helpful as their assessment covers all the basics around reliability and credibility. The company proved to be very easy, pleasant and transparent people to do business with. They are very enthusiastic and committed to their products and the service they provide and deservedly so. My wife and I really appreciated being able to visit their factory on a Saturday morning to have their manufacturing processes demonstrated to us. The price was very competitive with similar products and they offered us a significant discount to fit in with their available installation timetable. When I requested window fittings that they did not use as standard they sourced them at no extra cost. When the windows arrived on site we were not disappointed, the quality was excellent and now they are installed they look fabulous. Two weeks on we still get neighbors stopping to look. The window fitter who came to do the installation produced excellent quality work of a very high standard and was a pleasure to have in the house. He arrived on time each morning and worked extremely hard throughout the day. His preparation was through, he partitioned off each room worked in to reduce dust and mess, cleaning up thoroughly afterwards. It is really nice to see people who take a pride in the work that they do and the excellence of the finished product represented this.

I am quite picky (!) and have a clear idea of what I want. Jack and Patrick were really attentive and really understood my brief. The fitter was fantastic too. He worked around my day (I work from home and have 2 small children), arriving when I asked so I could let him in before the school run. He was extremely tidy and hoovered and cleaned after himself which was fab. Cannot rate these guys more highly. If only I could clone them to provide me with building, plumbing and electrician services too......

We have just had London Box Sash replace two bay windows, 3 large windows and a pair of French windows and we are delighted with the job. On the first visit, there was no hard sell and they took time to explain the products and options before sending a detailed quote. When we accepted it, they came to take detailed measurements. The work started when they said and only took 6 days. Andy, the fitter, worked extremely hard and did a brilliant job. He was the tidiest workman we have ever had! The windows are beautifully made and have attractive detailing. We have noticed a difference in terms of noise and warmth. All in all, money very well spent and we shall go back to the company when we have other windows replaced.

I cannot recommend the team at London Box Sash highly enough. I used them to replace my original sash windows and am so pleased with the new windows and the work that they did. I discovered them after reading recommendations on the East Dulwich Forum and later found out my neighbour had used them, so was able to see their work first-hand. Initially I had trouble getting hold of Jack for a quote, simply because he was so busy, and that popularity is a testament to how good they are. I’m glad I persisted because I could not be happier. They are reasonably priced based on the comparisons I made and excellent quality. Andy, the fitter, did a fantastic job and I happily left him to it while I went to work. I was impressed with all the preparation made to protect my cream carpet which was still spotless at the end of it all. And he was really conscientious about making as little mess as possible, leaving everything tidy at the end of each day. It’s inevitably a very dusty job of course, but everything was so well protected it wasn’t an issue at all and much less hassle and upheaval than I was expecting. Everyone I dealt with at London Box Sash (Jack, Patrick, Judith and Andy) was always really friendly and helpful, and I appreciated dealing with a genuine, hard-working, family run business. My Dad is a programme manager in the construction industry and even he (a notorious perfectionist) was extremely impressed. Great team and great windows! Highly recommended.

We chanced across these guys towards the end of our search for new wooden sash double glazing and I'm so happy we did. From the moment they came around to quote they were a cut above the rest. No hard sell, no 'buy now' discounts just a knowledgable presentation of their product which they were extremely proud of, and rightly so. Price wise they were very competitive, even for their highest specification models which were far better than anything else we saw. Our only other concern was the fitting, we have a very old home, recently decorated, which had the potential of a lot of plaster to come loose. They however took the upmost of care to ensure as little disruption as possible, their attention to details was exceptional and the covering up of everything in the house made sure no dust or dirt was left behind, the fitters were true professionals and highly skilled in their trade. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
