I am so impressed with this company. Stuart and the team have been amazing from start to finish. We got our sash windows installed last week and I’m very happy with the results. They look like for like with our old style of sash windows, which is exactly what we wanted. The installers Ray and Paul were amazing, they always arrived and left exactly when they said they would each day, always cleaned up after themselves and were friendly, good communicators, skilled and hard working. We managed to give them a completely empty small room to use as their workshop for cutting the wood down to size, I would suggest everyone does this for the duration of the installation as it minimised mess and didn’t slow down the installation process or duration. Big thumbs up and thanks team :)

After getting quotes from three companies, I compared prices and instructed London Sash Windows and Doors. It was an excellent decision. The standard of work was very high, they were clean, punctual and friendly. A family run business that makes you feel like one of their own. Highly recommended.

It’s a big decision to get double glazing. I got lots of advice, did lots of research and then requested quotes from 3 companies. LSWD distinguished themselves right away with beautiful, accurate, detailed drawings. I asked to see their work for another customer and went to visit her. She was delighted and her windows looked lovely. So the decision was made. From then on it was all plain sailing. Two visits from very courteous experts to measure up. A clear payment plan. All my questions (I had a lot!) were answered helpfully. There was a long lead time but the agreed date was fixed and communicated clearly. The three gentlemen who fitted my four windows and French doors were a delight. Efficient, tidy, patient with my questions, thoughtful, punctual and expert. Their work is immaculate. All the brass fittings are lovely, high quality and nice to touch. The windows look wonderful inside and out. And it’s so quiet! After they had gone I had another question. That was answered reassuringly, leaving me 100% satisfied with everything.

Just had 3 new double glazing sashes installed. They were amazing from start to finish. Very clear in their approach, great communication and there installation team couldn't have been more friendlier and spotless. We live in a conservation area and the windows are an exact copy of what we had before. Can only recommend these guys.

Excellent work and customer service from beginning to end. The office always responded to emails and confirmation was always put in writing. All site visits were helpful and and attention to detail. The men installing the windows were on time polite and considerate.

We needed a new box sash window supplied and fitted in our rear bedroom, complete with pre-finished ironmongery and draught-proofing. Melvyn from London Sash Windows & Doors Ltd did a detailed inspection, took measurements, and gave us a competitive quote with full details of how the job would work, phased payment schedule etc. (including final instalment payable after job completion). All communications with the company were very friendly, timely and professional, and our work was completed beautifully to the agreed schedule and on budget. With very old and dried-out plasterwork around our old window, I appreciated Melvyn pointing out in advance that some extra plastering repair work MIGHT be needed once the job was complete. In fact, the friendly fitting team worked really hard all day on our job, and they managed to leave the surrounding wall - and the room itself - in a near-perfect state. Thanks to Roland and his colleague for the care they took. I was extremely pleased with this job and would definitely use London Sash Windows & Doors Ltd again.

I wanted to upgrade my old sash windows to double glazed. I live in a conservation area so was forced to only consider wooden sash windows. I chose LSW&B after getting a few quotes. They were one of the only companies that could fit double glazed sashes to existing frames. I chose them as the other quotes that I received were for whole new frames and were more expensive, would require more extensive work, plus would not be as slim as the replacement sashes from this company. After their survey, I contacted my local Council and was told I needed planning permission. The surveyor, Melvyn, from LSW&B helped provide drawings for the planning application in a timely fashion. Melvyn re-visited for a detailed survey once I'd obtained planning permission, and updated the quote. He held the prices from the original quote despite the 30 days having expired. The new sashes are simply stunning and the whole window now looks amazing. The team refurbished the existing box frames and double-primed all the wood, so it is weather proof until I can get it painted with a gloss finish. The sashes themselves are fully painted. Harry and the installation team were really professional, skilled, and courteous. They went the extra mile with protection of our property and with cleaning, which are areas where a lot of contractors have let us down in the past. We are also absolutely delighted with the quality of the new windows and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

As anyone buying property in London knows, the beautiful high ceilings and large windows that come with a period property also usually come with single glazing, constant rattling and rotting wooden frames. When it came to solving this issue my partner and I were keen to find someone who would quote us for restoration as well as full replacement. LSWD were able to provide an initial quote very promptly by email, followed by a more accurate and in-depth quote following an in-person visit. We opted to replace the sashes of our windows but restore the box frames themselves. They were very patient with us and our co-freeholders as we uhmed and ahhed over how many windows in the building we wanted doing, and not at all put out when it turned out our flat would be the only one. They were very clear and upfront about how long the whole process would take, and once the new sashes had been made the actual installation process was quick and pain-free (3 days to replace 4 windows with a team of two). The workmen who came to our flat were absolutely lovely; they cleaned up as they went and, if anything, left our flat cleaner than they found it. The windows themselves look fantastic - they were able to replicate the original style and match the interior paint colour very closely. I would highly recommend LSWD to anyone looking to restore or replace their timber windows.

The sash windows in my flat were in a terrible state - rotten and some of them falling apart. Stuart's quote to replace 7 windows was approx a third of another one that I had, and my tenants said that from the moment they met him they were impressed with his approach. In fact, in a message to me they said "The results are AMAZING, they've made a real difference. Also have to comment on how lovely and professional the team are, they've been a pleasure to have around."

Fantastic no-fuss replacement of our front bay windows. London Sash Windows arrived exactly as planned and replaced our windows in a clean and tidy manner very efficiently. I used London Sash Windows and Doors to replace some old timber sash windows. They were superb to deal with, from start to finish. The initial meeting was very efficient. They explained to me that it was not necessary to replace the complete window box, which led to a significant cost saving. The team that arrived on the day were friendly, got the job done swiftly and left my flat cleaner than when they arrived. The windows have substantially reduced noise, the flat is much warmer and my condensation issues are fixed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend London Sash Windows and Doors to anyone.

I needed double glazed sash windows fitted to replace existing sashes in a tall London Victorian house. The initial consultation was careful and supportive. I was advised well on what did not need doing as well as what did. In the end I had six sash windows replaced. A second visit was arranged to make precise measurements of what was required. The windows were manufactured in the firm's workshop, and they were then fitted on site over two short days by what seemed to me a very competent team. They were considerate of my needs, worked tidily, showed me and explained to me what they were doing and checked with me appropriately on the window furniture. The final result looked excellent and, to date, all the windows have functioned well. I would/will recommend the firm to friends. It was not cheap, but the quality of the work was high and I saw no reason to regret paying a substantial price for excellent work.

This was to double glaze four large front windows, also secondary glazing for a stained glass window and improving insulation for a side door. We are very pleased with the new windows which fit in perfectly with the look of the house. The work was done as agreed, the team who came were very pleasant, extremely hard-working and thorough and Stuart was always helpful. The only problem was an error with sizing the secondary glazing but this was remedied quickly. Overall very satisfied with this company.

I'm delighted with the service given by Stuart and his team at London Sash Windows & Doors. The quote for replacing a sash window with a new double-glazed one in a frame which wasn't square was the most reasonable of three. Stuart was very helpful in providing the quote and answering questions, and the fitters did an excellent job in putting draught-proofing round the frame and then installing the new window. They worked extremely hard all the time without taking breaks, and did a wonderful job of vacuuming and clearing up when they had finished. I would strongly recommend this company.

The window in the room was made to perfectly fit the not very rectangular window frame. The fitters were extremely professional, clean and tidy. They spent a lot of time making sure that the window was fitted and caused absolutely no damage to the original frame, which was an added bonus. The room is now warm and quiet and the window opens smoothly despite the frame not being square. All correspondence with the office was answered swiftly and professionally making this purchase very simple. I would definitely recommend London Sash Windows and Doors to anyone wanting to replace their old windows with a double glazed unit.

From the first visit to the completion of the work, everything ran like clockwork. The person who came to do the estimate ( Stuart) arrived on time, was highly professional and provided good advice and a full estimate quickly. Problems with the supply of material at the time were explained and a realistic date for carrying out the work set. The work team arrived at 8 am ( as advised) and worked solidly throughout the day and a half they were here with hardly any breaks. They kept us informed of progress and ensured we were happy with various parts of the process. They repaired 4 sash windows ( two with new double glazing), removed secondary glazing from one and draft proofed all four. They also repaired two window sills. The job was more complicated as we have Banham grills on 3 of the windows which they had to remove and replace. All work was carried out efficiently and they cleaned everything up after them ( including a tidy up at the end of day 1- which we said was ok to leave but they said they liked to leave things in order!). We were very impressed by the quality of the workmanship and the pride they all took in their work. This is a family firm and it shows. We were given an estimate of two days but the work was completed in a day and a half as there were 4 in the team who worked together really well. I would highly recommend this company.

We had five sash windows and our balcony doors replaced. From the moment Stuart came to estimate we knew we were in safe, competent hands. The timetable and the payment schedule were clearly laid out and kept to, with good communication all the time. The team who came to do the work were a delight - enthusiastic, committed and thoughtful with a keen eye to quality and to finish. They were punctual, efficient and good problem solvers - the doors had to be hoisted up two floors, then in one window and out another to reach the balcony. It's a family business so there was a sense of collective pride in their work, their reputation and their high standards. The attention to detail was outstanding - the beading had to be the right width, the door handles the right height and the paint finish perfect and they were happy to work until they were satisfied. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with them from start to finish.

In my part of London many properties use the services of this firm which is now I came to learn about them. A door leading into my property was swelling when the sun was on it making it almost impossible to open. Stuart came up with an ingenious solution to rectify the issue without having to shave part of the door away which would have affected the security locks. The team came out on a Saturday to do the works, arrived exactly when they said they would, and did all the necessary repairs efficiently and courteously. Delighted with the end result and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I'm delighted with the service offered by London Sash Windows & Doors. The end product is just what was required and Stuart Mathieson was easy to deal with throughout. He and his team understand the oddities and craft of sash window repairs. They replaced a window pane, a catch, sash cords and a lock, whilst also refurbishing and draught-proofing two windows in our bathroom. It was a cramped space, and the risk of damage to sanitary ware was high. But they left not a scratch and were able to undertake a great finish on the windows.
