LR Building

We couldn’t be happier with Lee and his team. Lee worked on two renovation projects for us and we are certainly hoping to work with him again in the future. (I am almost reluctant to write this review as I don’t want him to become too popular and impossible to book!) We initially hired the team to remove multiple chimney breasts and re-plaster old walls, and we were so pleased with the job that we hired them again few months later to repoint the front elevation of our home and complete several other repairs. They are true professionals and pleasure to have around. When, inevitably, new issues pop up, they are always ready to discuss options and offer solutions.

We bought our first house and got a full structural survey and a structural engineering survey. We needed to fix up slipped tiles on the roof and strengthen the side extension roof that would both need scaffolding, so we wanted to fix as many issues at once as possible. We made a long list from both surveys and asked LR Building to take a look. Lee took us seriously and read through our list, making several site visits before making an itemized quotation, including clearly warning the roof quotation could not be firm until scaffolding was up. On-site, the LR Building team led by Gary were courteous and friendly, tidy and professional, and completed all work to a high standard. As ever, more issues were discovered including a blocked underground drain and ceiling insulation used in a vertical wall, and they explained and quoted for the new work each time. They replaced our guttering; installed missing stinkpipes; created a new french drain at the front; rerouted our gas pipe; redid nearly _all_ our exterior pointing; moved our garden gate; added missing roof valleys and major roof ridge improvements; replastered our kitchen ceiling with fire-safe material; moved air-bricks; and sealed major gaps in our brickwork where draughts were coming in. We feel so much warmer and safer as a result of LR Building's work! The eventual cost rose by £8k over the initial quotation, which was very reasonable given the new work discovered for the roof, walls and drains.

Lee and his team ( Gary & Rick) did a truly excellent job in replacing a collapsed brick wall on my garden boundary. Their advice was really helpful, and they went the extra mile to ensure that I had exactly the kind of brick I wanted. They were prompt, efficient and friendly as well as excellent craftsmen. The wall is a lovely job of work, and they were also able to repair an adjoining fence panel that had been damaged in the collapse. They were scrupulous in protecting the garden and the house through which they had to carry everything including the rubble. I would call them in for future work.

Lee's team of Gary & Rick (plus 2 other guys part of the time) were excellent. They were efficient and helpful, clearing away all waste materials, putting back anything that had needed to be moved, and they were generally a pleasure to have around. I particularly appreciated Lee confirming our agreed start date a few days beforehand, and the final invoice amount was the same as his quote, also nice! I had used the company for a previous job, and will happily use them again. Great service, and I unhesitatingly recommend them as a good, professional outfit.

I had a great experience with LR Building. We brought them in to repair a chimney breast removal which had been completely botched by previous owners. Lee was immediately responsive by phone and email. He came out quickly for a quote visit and gave me genuine/honest advice (including where he thought work in fact did NOT need doing, which was very refreshing). Ricky and Gary, who did the work itself, were brilliant. They were professional, friendly, always bang on time, and completed the work to a very high standard. They cleaned up so that the site was spotless before they left each day. Having had some bad experiences in the past, I'm very happy that I have found LR Building and they will be my first choice in future.

I needed a French drain putting in on 3 sides of my house, prior to insulation work. Lee was prompt to come round for a look and to give a quote. His team then carried out the work over the next 2 weeks and did a very nice job for me. They were considerate - arriving when they said they would and telling me if they were going to be slightly delayed. In a nutshell: a good job, and good communication throughout, very professional. I would unhesitatingly recommend them and use them again.

We used LR Building to work on the remains of the Chimney in our loft space. The Chimney Breast had been removed years ago and needed work to bring it up to date with present building standards. We needed the work to be done urgently as we are selling our house, Lee visited us and explained what needed to be done and pulled out all the stops arranging surveyor visits etc and took the work on immediately. Lee and his brilliant team arrived on time every day and worked tirelessly, making sure that we understood everything they were doing. Once the work was done everything was left clean and tidy and all rubbish was removed without delay. A second surveyor visit was arranged and certification for the work was issued. I would not hesitate to recommend LR Building to anyone looking for a reliable and professional Building Company.

Lee and the team have a good work ethic always punctual and are always cleaning up after themselves. The work is of a very high standard, could not fault the wall and the finish on the plaster was a very smooth finish. To say me and the wife are happy with the finished product would be an understatement. We would definitely use Lee and the team again on any future building works.

LR building were preferred contractors to undertake works to my property as they had the most competitive quote. Lee was very professional, explained everything clearly and seemed like a nice, genuine fella. Works carried out was repointing to external brickwork, repair guttering and facia and repair to chimney stack, which were all done to a very satisfactory high standard. The job was done in the time stated and Lee was neat and tidied up as he went along. The company had good communications and always answered my telephone calls. I would definitely use LR builders again.

Lee and his team did a great job on taking the wall down and opening the room up to give more space. The work was finished on time and to a high standard. I was really impressed with Lee's expertise and helpful advice in working out the best solution to my needs. Highly recommended.
